    I had a viewer ask about my opinion of the Firenocks for the Ravin so I bought them and took a close look. As you will se in the video I do not recommend you use the Firenocks for Ravin. I do however feel that the Firenocks are a great product for all other setups. I have other videos that offer a build your own option for Ravin arrows. Here is the link. Don't forget to subscribe and I hope you find use of the content. Have a safe season.

    Firenock makes a bunch of different knocks and each one of those is made specifically for a different application which includes different bows and crossbows different string sizes and different arrow sizes. I would advise you to contact Firenock and Dorge will get back to you promptly with the reason why You need whatever specific you’re supposed to use on your crossbow and string set up. Depending on the crossbow set up, Dorge actually does recommend a loser fitting knock sometimes and if you ask him, he will explain why he actually works with and knows personally a lot of crossbow manufacturers.

      I don’t use any lighted nocks. I simply looked into a product that was being talked about. With the nock being the primary source of failure on Ravin arrow builds I’m comfortable with the information I have provided. Thank you for your input.

    Thx for sharing. I did not use any lighted nocks on the Zombie's I made up for the Ravin but it is good to know as I sometimes use lighted nocks when hunting.

      Not sure if you seen it but I have a video with links to the parts needed for an arrow build that allows use of the Ravin nocks. Anyway thanks for commenting and watching. Have a good one.

      @@zumaconcepts1200 I got all the parts and built me the Zombie / Rabin arrows. I will be using the Black Eagle arrows to make my next 6 then do a comparison. The BEE's come with 3 inch fletch and I don't think they are as stiff as the Zombies. The Ravin Zombies weigh 438 grains including 100 grain points. My R29X is shooting 454 fps with the stock 400 grain Ravin arrows. Not sure what the others will weigh yet.

    I don't know if you realize but you have to have the right size serving on your string to shoot the different nocks made by firenock. I agree with you on a loose nock but with the right size serving they work great, I know because I shoot them. But I do have a GAS string with the right size serving set up for my Ravin R15.

      I agree. I try to keep my mods as close to stock or even identical for people to have an option they can be confident in. If you have a video with your information on it feel free to link it to this response for viewers to check out. Thank you for your input.

    So no nock bushing needed with the Firenock plastic nock? Doesn't that speak to the unnecessary-ness of the Ravin nock bushing?

    • @zumaconcepts1200
      @zumaconcepts1200  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t have any data to speak on either side of that opinion. I definitely would never use firenocks twitch Ravin.

    Quick question. You have the limbs packed w dampeners. I’ve heard negative takes on those. How do they help? Hurt?

    • @zumaconcepts1200
      @zumaconcepts1200  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure they do. The idea is to reduce vibrations and quiet the bow down. I have them out now and I can’t say I see a difference. I don’t think it matters either way.

      That’s interesting. You can see them installed in my 135yard 4” group video. I don’t believe the style I had in my bow made a difference. Maybe if I measured the sound but I didn’t see anything with accuracy.

      @@zumaconcepts1200 that’s why I’m asking you. Your vid’s delve deeper into the math and science of Ravins so if you didn’t notice an accuracy issue on dampeners then I’m going to assume that may be a fluke. Really appreciate all the intel out there on products these days😃

      Comparing brown rabbits to deer to see if we can learn anything about deer from rabbits or learn about rabbits from deer. They had so much in common like fur, waste, diet, habitat, both can be very nocturnal, ears, and how they stop and stare at you some.

    I'm almost ready to purchase my new R10 just wondering your thoughts vs a tenpoint titan or turbo s1.thanks

    • @zumaconcepts1200
      @zumaconcepts1200  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can only speak to the Ravin and Tenpoint. The reason I prefer the Ravin is for how the arrow is supported with minimal contact vs the other bows that produce slight pressure on the string due the the contact rail design. The Ravin also has the repeatability I prefer in the cocking mechanism. It is critical to repeat the anchor point when cocking to again reduce the torque inconsistency on the string. These two things alone are huge factors in repeatability and Ravin has it to a science. I can’t say enough about the design and how much I count on it in the field. All that said my brother uses the tenpoint and he loves it. If your asking for what I would do…. I will never buy anything but Ravin at this point in time. They are just too good at this game right now. Best of luck to you and thanks for watching.

There are times that I cannot push the thumb release down all the way, so that I can turn the handle; it acts like it gets stuck. I emailed Ravin about it and they are sending me a new handle-how that is going to help is beyond me? Other than that I love my R10.
