MK2 GTI High idle and intake boot repair

After my most recent trackcross race my 86 Golf GTI was having considerable idle issues. The car was idling around 2000-2200 just about all event. I immediately thought of a vacuum leak and people who know VW's more than I do said it was the idle air control valve going out.
I never event thought to look at the idle control screw. I dont know how it didnt fall out but putting that back in fixed the idle issues.
Along the way i found some minor cracks in the intake tube so i fixed that up with a easy cheap way to keep your intake or rubber tubes going for years to come.

Blue locktite? Shouldn't need to adjust it often right?

Good idea. I've since found and ordered replacement o-rings. I'll try those first, if not then the llocktite.
