Awesome deck that! I had a 16 year break from 2004. I got an 8” blueprint complete last year to get back into it. I needed bigger so I have 8.25 flip deck now and really happy with that size. Got those hollow Indys too. I’m too lazy to grip my own decks. Always have it done for me from the shop lol.
What a beautiful board! Great video Kieran, really enjoyed watching and nice to sit and listen to your thoughts about skateboarding. Thanks for the shout out that was greatly appreciated 👌🔥🔥 I hope you are still planning your skatepark tour when lockdown eventually eases cos it would be great to meet you at the Hull indoor sometime 👍
Absolutely Jonathan it’s still on, just waiting for the chance to resume our lives and I’ll be off. Will definitely catch up with you when I’m up your way mate. I’m glad you enjoyed it mate, I wasn’t sure about it but I feel a lot better now it’s out there. I think I’ll definitely try and do the next one live. 👊
@@KieranClarkSkates Nice one 👍. I look forward to seeing your new board in action! Before I got into skateboards in the last few months I never knew there were so many different size boards (and wheels). 8.25 seems to be a popular board size.
When I first skateboarded an 8 was massive so when I came back and saw the changes it threw me 😂 I do rate my 8.25 and I do think the best way to go is as big as is comfortable
It’s a nice size I could definitely stick with it and be super happy. Yeah that new board feeling is great, I told myself this time to change it out earlier rather than wait for it to die completely. That way I get that fresh pop feeling more often.
Nice setup dude, love the griptape although can't see the white staying white for long 🤣 I like this format where you just chat away while building, wish I could get away with that but I'm not the best talker lol always have to edit pretty heavily cos I just end up rambling 🤣
The when I watched it back I realised I didn’t talk about anything I said I was going to talk about because I like a ramble too. 😂 Yeah it’s not very white now and it’s only been a week or so. Glad you enjoyed it mate, I’ll definitely do some more like this in the future.
@@KieranClarkSkates yeah but you covered everything about your setup and your preferences etc so it's all good 😁 at least it comes off as organic and not forced as if you were reading from a promoter lol
@@KieranClarkSkates I've been trying to be a bit less scripted and robotic sounding in my videos (not that I script anything just feel like that's how I come across cos I'm always doing retakes or voiceovers etc) it's not really something that comes naturally to me but could maybe take a page from your book! No worries dude always look forward to seeing what trick you're learning next 🤜🤛
Nice man love plan B I ride and 8.5.... more than happy for you to try mine mate. Currently on 8.56 and love it flips so much better than 8.25 in my opinion man.
Yeah Plan B are awesome, there team is so good. Definitely going to give a bigger board a go some point in the future, that extra catch space is always nice.
Board looks dope dude, love the grip and totally agree that skating is the best place to be outlandish! Also the only thing close to a tre flip I've ever landed was on a 9" deck so I think it depends what your used to and like you said how much you've restricted yourself into that mindset! Fun vid man was cool just to feel like we're having a cuppa over the board setup as opposed to being out n about, I like both though!
Thanks Dan, I definitely agree it’s more in your mind than it is to do with the size of the board. Glad you enjoyed it mate, it was a lot of fun to film. I’d like to try and do a live one at some point so we can all have a proper chinwag.
@@KieranClarkSkates Having said that certain shapes do tend to push me towards or away from certain trick styles but yeah I think overall anything's possible on anything! Sounds like a plan dude, like a uk 9 club style thing?
I’m going to try a bunch of different shapes over the year as I’m intrigued to see how much it changes stuff. I’ve only ever road the standard popsicle so be cool to try some new things. Yeah mate just have difficulty people on chatting about their setup and stuff. Not sure it’ll quite be 9 club quality but we can try.
@@KieranClarkSkates Rad, II'd definitely recommend trying out something old school or wide! I find just looking down at them makes me think much more 80s vibes and probably affects the tricks that way, but once you're used to em you can still flip em about!
I’m well up for that. I’ve been watching a lot of the Santa Cruz product test videos and they skate a lot of those styles and shapes. It’s really got me thinking, I’ll probably pick up a street plant one once they reopen for shipping.
i have tried a 8.375 but didn't skate it much. feels quite big but i think it's also has something to do with the trucks (thunder 148) thunder trucks are quite low compared to tensor ATB ( skating an 8 now with tensor ATB) but i think i might try a 8.125 or 8.25 next..it just feels bad buying a new board when it's so wet outside. plan b board is looking awesome. love the setup vids, i always wonder what boards you guys ride, it's satisfying to know the setups :)
Thanks dude, it was a lot of fun to film. I’m the same I love seeing what different people use. How’s the Tensor trucks, I’m very tempted to give their maglites a go.
@@KieranClarkSkates I love the tensor trucks because they feel so stable - is it the bushings? They are quite high if you compare them to thunders, but coming from Independent, you might like them.
I’ve always had indys so high trucks is the way for me. Sound good I’ll pick some up at some point and give them a go for sure. May also have to try some mids at some point, just for a change up.
@@KieranClarkSkates thats sick💪 I wanted to let you know i used to skate a 8.75 and. i landed my fakie crooks .that big size gives you a better feel so you can lock on grind like the one i mentened also 5.0s im 5.5 ft tall and i picked that size because i tore my ACL in 2015 with a 7.5 ollieing a gap and im still skating like never before lucking just moving up a size ❤ more room to catch with youre feet 7.5 are good too . I tell you all this man in good spirit you are the best and love youre chennl im always looking fowerd to watch 🙏 :)💪🔥🔥
Thanks mate I really appreciate that. 👊 I’ll definitely be trying some bigger sizes it’s cool to hear your experience. Yeah that smaller size is super sketchy, I’m only 5ft8 so I’m not tall but bigger decks is the way to go.
@@KieranClarkSkates oh yeah!! That sweet you'll have fun cuz small baored are best when you more comfy with flips i like big size cuz as a kid i only got Hand Me Downs that were huge ,so I got used to it. ❤
