This is by far the most beautiful Dickens Village Display I have seen, and your breakdown of it was amazing. Thank you for sharing this with all of us!
I love your village room. Great to see your train not going 500 MPH like some do. Awesome village and really neat video. It has been chosen as a "Village Video of the Month" selection on our website, and will be featured on the "Village Videos" page of the site starting Thursday, September 15, 2022. Congratulations!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful Christmas 🎄 Village. So much hard work , I'm sure. Please entertain us with another video with a music soundtrack and your train running throughout. Again , beautiful display!!❤
Tom, love this so much. Would love to see a follow up video - a bit wider shots for more of an overall view, with commentary around your thought process in organizing your buildings and village areas, tips and tricks for landscaping, etc. Yours is truly the best of the best!
I have to say Timothy I am impressed how beautiful this Dickens village is and do you leave it up all year round. You did such a great job on all the layout even the skirting is beautiful.
Oh, this is successful. Since a couple of years I watch christmas and winter dioramas. And the most of the american are overloaded and absurd thememixed. And above all colorful. But not this one. You made a fantastic, nearly lifelike display with a very romantic touch in european style. I like this. Thanks for showing.
The Internet-I found brick and stone patterns and printed the style and color I liked. Then after realizing how many ink cartridges, I would be going through, I took it to a local mail/print shop and had 500 copies made much more economically. Then I cut and glued them down to the foam base with Modge Podge.
I would tell you “well done”, but that would be an insult to perfection. You have about 15 more videos to cover at least that many sectional parts of your masterpiece. Look forward to you showcasing them.
After drinking a few beers, do you ever get tempted to crush your display like Godzilla storming Tokyo? Seriously though, impressive collection. Love your display
It’s been a few years, but I think I remember as I tried different methods. My table surface is made up of 2” thick Styrofoam insulation sheets that come in 4’ X 8’ sheets. Wherever there was water I took my foam cutter and gouged out small shallow chunks, and then I was going to put spray glue down, and stick Blue cellophane to it. I tested this method and found that the spray glue eats the Styrofoam so then I think I painted it with a coat of leftover latex wall paint, and then different shades of blue acrylic paint over that. Then I can’t remember if the spray glue worked OK on the latex/acrylic, or if I glued the cellophane with Modge Podge. I think I went with the Modge Podge. Then I put a soft towel over it, and a little weight on it until it dried. If you notice at the 1 minute mark on the video, the lights from the passing train made a nice ripple effect on the water surface area. Thanx
Thanks, It took a couple years to build the tables and arch, sew the table skirt, do all the electrical for the train and lighting, and just the landscaping, not to mention the planning to utililize space as the table has 298 official lit houses, although I lit some on my own like the Tower bridge and some accessories with the string of Christmas lights dept 56 sells. It stays up all year.
Hi Timothy, beautiful village! Can you tell me what the name of the half timbered building is at 1:40 into the video next to the Brandon Mill? The one that looks like it is over water.
Not really? They seem glued pretty well. If it was me and I was willing to take a chance, I would see if I could slip a single edged razor under the plastic bottom plate to see if I could separate the glue that holds it. You'd have to be very careful not to break anything or cut yourself.
@@timothycoughlan2467 Thanks. I was able to spray the mechanics inside with silicone lube through a small straw. I also think it might be a connection issue. Working great again!
Amazing! Wish you can help me create mine. Where did you get the ships? Where did you get the Stonewall? At 10:12 what is that tall blue thing when you mention Burt?

What an enchanting miniature community you’ve created! Can you please tell us where you acquired the brick road/walk ways?

Your village is simply stunning! Could you share how you did the water features?

I hope you leave this up all year. I doubt the Thames ever was that blue. LOL
WOW amazing job! Do you keep it on throughout the year or take it down? I love it!

I think you might mean Brook Span Cottage.
I'm blown away, by how many interesting houses and buildings you have. How long have you been collecting?
1985
How are those incredible walls made?
The top of the stone walls are from Dept 56, the bottom part is styrofoam that I cut grooves into, painted, and added some greenery
AMAZING! Well done. Do you know how to remove open up the Scrooge Brownstone in order to lubricate the spinning figurines?
Not really? They seem glued pretty well. If it was me and I was willing to take a chance, I would see if I could slip a single edged razor under the plastic bottom plate to see if I could separate the glue that holds it. You'd have to be very careful not to break anything or cut yourself.

Amazing, are you still adding to it?
sorry, no. Ran out of room.
Amazing! Wish you can help me create mine. Where did you get the ships? Where did you get the Stonewall? At 10:12 what is that tall blue thing when you mention Burt?
The ships and stonewalls are from Dept 56. the tall blue thing is a support post for my house.
@@timothycoughlan2467 thanks
Can you share the name of the bridge going over the canal please.
Abington Bridge Dept 56 # 58536
Do you keep this up all year??? How long did ut take you to collect all these?
It's kept up all year. I started collecting in 1985.
