Damn is this true. White guy here.... Had never heard the term 'ashy' until I got with my Salvadorean girlfriend at the age of 23. It really is because we can't see the ashiness so we don't realize it.
Our skin is naturally more oily than black people skin. Only time it dries out is during extreme cold temperatures in winter and then it's the skin that is exposed to open air. That's the only time I have a need to use lotion.

Black peoples lotion use is actually more cultural/social than necessity based so drying out is less common with or without lotion. Any skin can be dry however white skin doesn't get to the point of irritation until cold weather because there isn't enough humidity to moisturize it. Whereas black people can but don't really run into that issue with cold weather as it actually doesn't effect the aforementioned moisture or lack thereof.

Once summer comes around I always start wearing my sandals and they said that my feet were so raggedy-ass they couldn't believe that I came inside their house with feet looking like that. They told me my feet look like old rotten Grandma feet and they gave me a jar of shea butter. Right after that I went to have my first pedicure. I had no idea my feet look so bad and that anyone looks at your feet. Black folks do. So this piece was so funny because it's true.

It occurred to me recently, might sound crazy, but after watching this channel and a few others, reaction videos and cultural exchange is literally the answer to world peace. Not just cultural things in our country, but also globally. I am refraining from mentioning channels specifically, as to not take away hits, but another was about tribal folks (youth, elders, etc.) giving feedback on different things in America, like Johnny Cash. I never heard of "ashy", but the humor of not only Bill, but especially you guys reacting, shares a cool moment. Same with music and topics, etc. Idk, it hit me hard the other day, the realization, if we all did the Matrix thing and plugged our minds into one another, saw the beauty of each culture, the humor, the love, the pain, there would be nobody left to not relate to another. In short, don't stop making these, it is way more powerful than most might imagine. Keep up the great stuff guys

Thanks to my Italian grandmother who was from Rome, I’ve used good face lotion twice a day, everyday since 13. Morning and bedtime skin routine: Neutrogena face wash, original listerine on a cotton ball (know it sounds weird, but nothing kills more bacteria while being extremely gentle on your skin-it’s my own secret and I’ve never heard anyone else talk about it-but I just gave it to everyone who reads this🤣) which has worked so well I’ve only had maybe 3 pimples in my whole life, and then Neutrogena face lotion for sensitive skin with SPF. Then Sesame oil on my whole body especially my feet. I’m now 40 and my skin looks like I’m in my 20’s (in my picture I’m 39). Don’t have one single wrinkle. THE LOTION THEORY IS 💯TRUE.

Bill Burr is comedy royalty, in my opinion... Even back when he thought he was no good and he was just yelling about shit (his own words), his bits killed. I wasn't overly thrilled with his last stand up though, I must say... Whether he wants to admit it or not, I think our overly PC culture is affecting his act in that he's a little bit more careful about what he says. I like to consider myself as being very considerate of the feelings of others, but people have lost the ability to see when a joke is simply just a joke to make others laugh, and not a put down. I was born and raised in Utah. I was at an open mic night with black comic who said black people in Utah made up 0.8 percent. That didn't make him a minority, he was a trace element. In the three years I was in high school, there were three black kids out of about 1700 students. I mention this for context for this story. I worked at a grocery store in my 20's and 30's. We had one black regular customer. If there were two black people in the store at the same time, there was a tour bus outside. One day this black guy asked me where we kept our "black products." There was... 100% NO way this wasn't a trap. I had no clue what he was talking about. About an hour later, I was in the back room where a replacement bread guy was filling in for a vacation. This guy happened to be not only black, but had played for an NFL team for a year or two. I sort of knew him so I asked, "Can I ask you a probably racist question?" He said I could and I told the story. He said the guy was looking for lotion and Jehri Curl. The humidity in Utah runs about 8-12% in the summer. (It's June 6. We have a 100% chance of rain today, and 18% humidity.) NFL Guy said "Without lotion, we start looking like statues came to life." I literally only put it on when the cracks in my feet start to bleed. "Oh shit. I must be drying out."
