Although Star Trek was cancelled in 3 years of its 5 year mission, I watched the series Star Trek continues, I believe a creation and dream of Vic Mignogna to finish the last of the 2 year mission which he did in excellent nostalgic form to the original series. and finishes where Kirk is promoted to Admiral.
This is the perfect tie in from Vic Mignogna series to the Star Trek motion picture. WELL DONE.

This is completely believable within the Star Trek framework. There's no way Nogura would simply give command of a front line asset to someone who had ridden a desk for 2 and a half years. It would definitely take some convincing.
This was excellent work. Thanks so much for sharing.

Nice to see TMP get some love. Just can't get over those Admiral uniforms - should have been used for the whole crew! Interesting speculation of what could have been, but I concur with other comments: This was longer than 3 minutes :)

The sound quality is much better. In particular, the conversation was a lot easier to understand. Thank you, David Cheng, for making this improvement. You made a great video. The story was creative and entertaining. This is one of those scenes that I am surprised that TMP never included, not even in the Director's cut. I think you filled this gap nicely. The music sound track also was great and fit the story well. Finally, the extra bonus scene at the end was a nice surprise. So everyone, be sure to watch the video to the very end! Well done!

    I loved this!
I could see Nogura and Kirk actually doing this in a missing scene from the film. It would have been nice to see this than spending unknown amount of endless traveling through the cloud!
On another note I love the garden. Where is it?
Thank you all so much. I hope when times are safer everyone will get the chance to reunite for more stories.

Kirk doing Shatner a little too much
Looks fine for 2290's ST6 era Kirk, but maybe too gray for 2273 KIrk, only 3 yrs after TOS
Nice TMP uniforms and set location, Japaese theme and katana fight idea

Nice segue betw- ST-C and ST-TMP ! You know, Vic Mignona (ST-C) rents out time on his TOS Bridge set. You COULD carve out a STRONG niche doing "back-story" vignettes ! SERIOUSLY- while many (NOT me) have some unexplainable problem with "pre-quels", I think you're seeing here that "back-stories" would get some welcome acceptance ! A bit of friendly input ? Take some Camera and blocking, etc. Courses, and get some timing down to make tour editor's job a little easier, get someone from a local college film school/dept to help with some fight and sword choreography, and get a little help polishing script transitions, and you could really gain some traction ! SERIOUSLY- this was a GREAT EFFORT, one you should be PROUD of ! It was clear you intended to do a good job, and truthfully, I think you really hit your target well ! Everybody seemed invested in the project, and with just a little tightening, could really start doing some great back-story telling ! Also, there are some GREAT external CGI Clips available. Contact one and see if they'll let you use one where it might fit in with the story you're telling, and you could really "go places" ( ;=) ! ) with a given episode ! One CAUTION tho, if you DO, keep your Opening and Closing sequencesto a minimum. If you decide to really bump it up and use a SHORT sequence mid-roll, short but HI quality could really put a strong poolish on the piece. BUT do NOT base your presentation on it. Too much CGI defeats the purpose and reverses the overall desired/intended effect, something Fan-fic producers don't seem to realize. Anyway, I hope you feel I liked the product and the folks you selected for on-camera roles ! Good job👍 - and NICELY done !

Nice attempt to address the lack of other ships to intercept Vger, but maybe a liitle more expose is due for this sore point and longstanding TMP plot issue.
Assuming Vger is traveling at high sublight or low FTL speed, maybe reasonable that ship near Eath would get to Vger faster than ships several star systems away, but still hard to believe no other ships of any class not around Earth or in solar system/Mars shipyard

While the acting is generally decent, Mike Longo blew his part. It's not that he did not do an imitation of William Shatner--this is a GOOD thing--but he spoke with too quick a cadence and often slightly slurred his words, particularly at the end of a sentence. Contrast this with David Cheng's reading, where he often stopped talking in the middle of a line to make sure that he spoke clearly.

    • @geraldford6409

IMO actors doing Kirk should not imitate Shatner, but interpret the Kirk character
