    It's true what they say: Whoever angers you controls you. Note that it doesn't say "whoever you are angry at controls you"; there is a difference.
    If someone can make you angry enough to stop thinking, to stop analyzing, and to just act on your emotions, then they're the ones holding the reins. It's all too easy to become a pawn in someone else's game.

      @@Atlas_System01 I don't believe there was anything partisan or political in the film. There are mixed elements and metaphors in the heroes and the villains, similar to Undiscovered Country in that regard. The film takes place before ST6:TUC, which is why the elements are there. In the end, it's a fan film where folks are experimenting with story telling during public health emergencies, lock-downs, and travel warnings. The fact that the group can get any production done in this environment says much about story telling with a global perspective.

    I have to issue an apology--I thought this was going all woke on Star Trek, but it is actually the opposite--saying that we should NOT be judging by one released video but should believe innocent-until-proven-guilty. That is the correct way to judge videos like the one from Admiral Curry. Well done. However, as others have stated, the acting is wooden and torpidly slow with pauses between actors that were way too long and should have been shortened in editing. Please have a director in the next film who can see that and help the actors to speak with emotion and an editor who can better splice the scene together.

They represent only 25% of the founding species of the Federation, and roughly .66% of the species that comprise the Federation by Picard's time. This brief episode includes two Vulcans (one-and-a-half if you want to split hairs) and two Andorians, so it's a start. Also a non-Federation Klingon, a Gorn and a Talosian (though how you'd interview one with the ban on visiting Talos IV I don't know...). I am pleased to see humans of Asian derivation are better-represented in this incarnation of Star Trek, given that they presently comprise 56% of the Human species.

    I love something about this . But am also amused that this comes off as good hearted aging fans trying to take a piss (parody) on what they perceive as woke community.
    It feels like if the Lutheran church middle aged congregants make a well meaning video for teens to practice abstinence. Its always going to come off as schlocky .
    And the irony is you end up preaching to your audience. People tend to do the same thing they claim they hate. What I like about it is
    You have a cause. I think its a silly nerd cause, but its your thing and you all feel the same and you put it together. Great job on the costuming and getting creative
    using technology to make sets. Its a lot of very hard work. I don't even think a lot of the acting is bad. It seems ernest but you really have to pick up the pace.
    There is a lot to be said for swinging for the fences. I probably misperceived your message because I only watched about five minutes and was skipping ahead alot.
    I finished it and got your message better. I laughed at the Dragnet like summary of the 'criminal" and his fate. The last half is better than the first half. The first half combined with part I giggled just comes off as anti-woke nerd porn.

What about when Kirk said horrible things about Spock in "This Side of Paradise?" That is verboten today--he insulted Spock and his heritage. If you think this is progress--then just realize that there are people who disagree with you whole heartedly.

      This was the opposite of “woke” this was full blown far right propaganda. Now that a month has passed since release and more fan films have come out I feel like this is the worst fan film release of 2021 I don’t know what this is but it’s definitely not Trek. This is social commentary done wrong and a good example of what not to do when writing social commentary fanfics/fan films.

    • @Atlas_System01
      @Atlas_System01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you guys want to do something like this again please get something to write for you that knows how to write because propaganda is NOT social commentary. Honestly this whole mess of a fan film should be ignored and treated as a flop at this point. There are far better fan films than this. Also don’t push a trumpian agenda on the viewers because this isn’t about trump like stuff at all.

    Ok there is so much that is wrong with this. First of all you portrayed liberals as evil corrupt dictators and second of all this is nothing more than far right propaganda. Gene would hate this. This is not keeping with the future he created all those years ago. Also I can’t believe that you got one of the best fan film creators out there to act out of character. I can’t believe that you did this. Please don’t do this again. Ever. The Star Trek universe should never be used for propaganda of any kind.
