      Here a question for you can't test for serotonin without taking the brain out so how do you know if a person has to much or little serotonin also since you can't test for it without killing the person how do you know that the SSRI even affect the serotonin levels to begin with?

    For the negative comments about ssris let me just say that paroxetine has given me my life back from crippling ptsd, depression, anxiety and panic disorder. It does work.

    there are cases where proper use of SSRI/SNRIs (even just a few doses) triggers Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) which is a persistent syndrome after discontinuation and currently incurable.. so many young people have their lives ruined by it. Unfortunately I know something about it.

    SSRI (Paroxetin) was akin to chemical lobotomization for me. I was talked into taking it because I was convinced it was a necessary step for me take so I'd get access to a doctor who specializes in treating adhd. Got my adhd diagnosed last Christmas, but I recall this process began in 2018.
    I don't know exactly how much time I lost due to SSRI, but I do know I won't trust anyone who's job is to sell me sh*t I don't need. People who give these sorts of "medicines" to others should be willing and ready to take it themselves or they really don't differ much from those who guard extermination camps; "I did what I was told to do" isn't considered a valid justification in civilized circles.

  • @babynaysc
    @babynaysc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I keep thinking, the problem with treatment with medications is the side effects, especially with weight gain, anorgasmia and drowsiness. Even with diet and exercise, I gained weight and bloated, causing self-esteem problems. Having depression and panic is bad, you take medication and you have these symptoms and you also feel bad, we have no way out

    • @Pavel1560
      @Pavel1560 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My advice for you is to stop taking this meds and go to a theraphy. It's far better than taking this shit, helped me a lot. Meds changed me to brainless, emotionless zombie with harsh side effects. On theraphy you are working with your problem, taking meds is like symptoms treatment instead of real treatment. Doctor will give you another meds to treat side effects from previous meds, and soon you will be taking 3-5 different meds only to help you a little, but give you tons of nasty side effects.

    I take an SSRI
    I'm excited to hear that this is taught beautifully.
    Everything you mentioned about what Serotonin is super true. I suffer from depression, bipolar, and all the dx from DSM-5 :P
    No seriously it's good. I like it. I wouldn't change it. It makes me happy, I can go throughout my day without crying, personality changes. It's very helpful especially when I worked in the hospital.
    I can tell a great great difference in how I used to feel when I was deeply depressed.
    Yet, it can kind of do the opposite (I take other medications, Vvyance for my ADHD which kind of enhances the symptoms a little bit)
    I have NAUSEA
    I have low LIBIDO (it's hard for me to become aroused on my own)
    Dry mouth (I just had a bedtime snack from sleeping a few hours ago) I have biotein/gum for this.
    I have insomnia (not really from this medication)
    Motion sickness (I take an antiemtic)
    I take breaks on weekends (I have been celexa for over a year) to stop" thinking" to hibernate
    Yet, I'm also nervous to get off my medications when I want to have a baby. I take so much medication, and I don't want to have postpartum depression (severe) 🥺🥺
    Yet, when I take something, I look at any interactions regardless. Except candy! (Oh yeah, it can kind of raise my blood sugar because I crave sweets a lot more since being on Celexa)so it can raise blood sugar through that route.
    So everything you said I can confirm! Great Job, Sarah! 👍🏼

      To Stop ssri is another story.it messes with the whole body not just the brain.your whole being becomes dependant on them.even when tapering down very slowly it can be unsuccesful.good luck to you.i would say never take them for more than a year.

    Could you explain why these drugs effect a persons sex drive, as well as the permanent life destroying side effect know as PSSD (post SSRI sexual dysfunction) Thats when a person still experiences the sexual side effects associated with these drugs even after they've stopped taking them.
