What’s worse is when you’re lonely and reach out to the church and no one shows up. Please believe this is not putting down the church but seriously their are desperate people wanting a friend and have reached out to so many Christian’s organizations and.. nothing.. wow.. who cares.. Jesus does I know for sure but sometimes after losing your husband and have no friends.. maybe just maybe you could use a hug from “! Someone with skin on”.
We are so sorry that you have had that experience. We'd like to encourage you to call us at 855-771-HELP (4357) weekdays between 6 A.M. and 8 P.M. (MT) to talk with one of our counselors (at no cost to you.)If you ever need to connect with someone during a difficult season In the meantime, please know you're in our prayers.- Ella L.
I think as Seniors our loneliness is very different from younger people also divorced Seniors. I think some of us choose to be alone maybe it doesn’t help that the church doesn’t have a place for Seniors and divorced. I’m 69 years old work full time and my job is my mission field. Weekends I choose solitude to recalibrate for the coming week.
I have to spend time alone to rejuvenate. Plus I love my mornings alone with coffee with one scripture just popping up in my head that I will think about throughout the day . Sometimes I'd love for Jesus to show up in human form.
@13:40 You are very fortunate someone told you that you weren't crazy. My experience is that men don't get that type of support and IN PARTICULAR NOT FROM THE CHURCH - like women do. Self deletion is 4x higher for men after divorce because (in my opinion) they are either not believed or no one cares.
This certain guy that is reaching out is my ex husband and we are permanently divorced. And we aren’t reconciling he is not a believer at all. And he doesn’t want a personal relationship with Jesus at all that’s his decision that he has made. And his family they aren’t believers and they don’t want a personal relationship with Jesus Christ either they go to church in order to make off the box that is what religion is all about and religion (religiosity) is not Christianity at all!!! Works without faith is dead this is 100% true!!!
Our hearts and prayers go out to you @janetbuhr810. We have a broadcast specifically for widows that you may find helpful- bit.ly/3QXW2bD. We are here for you. -Luna H.
I loved this episode of FOF such a timely message for me. Look forward to reading her book. It's so special to hear from the daughter of an iconic General in the faith. Blessings you Ms. Ruth 🙏🏽
The loneliness comes from Christians spending so much time at work doing jobs that have nothing to do with their gifts and talents and the disconnect in the Body of Christ. If we are serving and working using our gifts and talents serving each other, we would never feel lonely.🙏🏿❤️
This was so cool; I love that she's so honest and talked about some of the same struggles a lot of us have, so that we don't have to feel like we're the only ones. And she's got some good ideas for how to deal with stuff too, like go to the function anyway, even if you don't feel like it. She's my hero!

Totally agree. When we are doing activities that please the Lord, that indwelling joy bubbles up. 🙌🏻
The whole point of loneliness..is to Get to Know Jesus Within You. 😊❤

Excellent!!
Amen
I would love to meet Ruth. I thought she was describing me.
If i were dying, I'd sooner confide in an aetheist than allow a Christian to hurt me in any way.
Oh boy .. that is so sad , but so true .
I would love a good friend.
Ruth is not one of my favorite people. She's defintely not a mother I would have wanted. The way she treated Franklin is a sin
This is Franklins sister she was named after her mother.
My brother gave my cousin a job
