  • Welcome to Land’s End. This is the stunning eastern coast of Québec, where Canada drops suddenly into the crashing sea. We knew the Gaspésie would make for outstanding off-road and on-road riding, but this small peninsula blows away our expectations.

I lost my Dad to the sea when I was in my 20’s and I loved getting on the back of his bike. I was only allowed to ride MX but now I’ve passed my road test, every time I go out I feel close to him. We’ve bonded on a bike just at different times...

I recently shared with my dad that I've started riding. He and I were always a mile apart, and even though he rode in the past I worried he'd dismiss my new pass time. For the first time in many years, we truly connected over something. If nothing else, that has been imprinted upon riding, and everytime I start that engine I'll remember his smile when I held up the keys.

While born in the UK, I lived in the Gaspé between the ages of 10-17 and that is where I learned to love motorcycles. I used to ride a little Honda 50cc bike around the trails in the forest, even in winter I'd ride it along the snowmobile trails that had been packed down hard enough to ride on.
Back in the UK now, I ride road bikes, but I still remember where my love for motorcycles started... at the "raw and undeveloped" (your words) Lands End. (Ironically I don't live that far from Land's End in the UK.

The bike is a 2014 Honda CTX700. I had last seen this area in 2001 in a car, and vowed I would do it by bike one day. Well, it will happen in May. Thanks FortNine guy.

Gaspé is such a beautiful place. My wife and go every year... Percé is our favorite. We stay there at least 2 or 3 days. Great restaurants (Maison du pécheur, Le Biard) local brewerie (Pit Caribou)... for us, its heaven on earth! I strongly suggest to anyone to make the trip. We sometimes pass through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia when we have the time.

Yo man - I know this video is old now, but I watched it as soon as it came out - and many time since - and riding the Gaspesie has been on my mind. I took a day to get from Ont to Levis, QC. From Levis to Perce, then one more back to Levis, and home. The scenery was gorgeous, the roads were sick - and even though the weather left a little to be desired - it was still a killer trip I'll do again next summer. My dad had a really bad stroke last year and it has crippled him - so he obviously couldn't make it. The whole time riding it I was thinking how much he'd dig the scenery - and kinda felt like I was riding it with my dad because you had with yours and your commentary was playing through my head. Weird, I know - but even though my father wasn't there - seeing the Roche Perce will still always make me think of him. Thanks for that man - I never would have gone, or really known about it, if it wasn't for you.

Drew, just do you a favor, now plan a trip on the north shore up to Havre St-Pierre, there is much to be seen, just one thing, blue whales, humpback whale, belugas, near Tadoussac, if you do , stop camping at Paradis marin campsite, beautiful natural site, on the shore, the whales are swimming within 2-300 feet from shore, unbelivable experience, and much more. You are blessed to have a dad you enjoy motorcycling with. Mine was a minister who, after making hospital calls to visit the infirm, he told me in no uncertain terms that as lo g as I was under his roof, NO MOTORCYCLE. That sucked until one day I just came home on one. He was upset, but after I "spit the lit" to him he shockingly agreed with my point of view. He's gone now, and maybe has been looking out for my well-being since graduating to eternal life.

What an awesome feeling to see the place where I chose to live for four years now in one of your video! I gotta say, I'm glad that you did some off-roading around here (Mont St-Pierre is hell of a spot) but you barely touched the tip of the iceberg! You should come back around with a dual-sport bike and experience what the back contry has to offer, in term of sight seeing and challenges!
