Shout out to all the dread heads, no matter what stage of the journey your on, make sure your happy, i shortened my free forms, they were below chest length, causing me pain by pulling my scalp when i slept, i had to trim them to baby dread size or just above my eye line, and thats now my preferred length, if i want the long chieftains i let em grow again, but for now...... its got to be right for you! keep them but trim them if need be

My grandma wants me to cut my hair and my mom wants me to get it retwist. I told them no. I like it how it is. I don’t tell them how I want their hair to be or how I dislike it. Because it’s not my hair. Lemme express myself how I wanna

My hair loves to congo. I have to pull them apart though because zi have to wear a hard hat but if they are small ones I leave them alone. You will see a few strands of hair connecting from one loc to another loc. As they grow they get closer until they grow together and eventually join. So you have time before they join permatently, especially when they are longer. When they are shourt and young you have to check more often

Oh snaps @8:01-8:40 is me. Wasn't expecting that. Absolutely have no regrets with not getting a retwist! Big ups for the review

After watching a video on here I invested in black african soap and Dr bronners teatree shampoo. Best buy 💪

Amazing videos! How do you recover from hard water damage and extreme heat from the sun. We no longer live in the state where the damage occurred but my locs went from being healthy to very dehydrated. Trying to recover with black soap and natural oils.

I'm freeforming with straight hair, been separating them a bit thin, I just dont want to end up with a couple massive ones covering a third of my hair, I dont mind congos tho, and when I see one thats not thick enough to cause discomfort I let them do their thing. Im wondering if im making them too thin though for my hair type so im currently trying to separate a bit less

my thoughts were they can always come together at a later date, but if they get too ingrained together than they're stuck like that now

Hey so I’m sponging my fro . My fro is also not long at all. What are some tips for scratching your head in your sleep? I wear a bonnet to bed every night and oil my hair once or twice a week. Thank you!

i love my freeforms, but they were so much thicker before i started putting so much tension with my durag+hat combo early on. i think ill start combining if anyone has tips on thicking freeforms let me kno!

      - Try to combine them at the very end of the root by interlocking then wait till they combine over time. Use your fingers to loosen up the hair at the root until you notice the locs combining then leave it be so the hair can tangle and knot more effeciently.
      - Combine them at the very end of the root by interlocking then use a proper crochet hook to weave the hairs together at the root.
      - Doing it like this though means the hair is going to essentially start over because you're just combining the locs at the root and letting them grow again as one loc. So it will possibly take a year or two before you see new locs forming depending how fast your hair grows.
      - If you are successful with these methods whenever you wash your hair make sure you use the most natural residue free shampoo you can find and use cold water if you can endure it. Use coconut oil to keep your scalp moisturized. That's my 2 cents.
