    Great review.bought one 3 weeks ago .can’t fault it.after years of larger cars since 1966. Turned 80 a few weeks ago and wanted something smaller. Fits like a glove Tony. Clacton on sea

      They certainly are, you don’t really see a huge advertising push for them on TV and a really bargain.

    What a great review, I've just had my poor Suzuki Swift written off a 64 plate SZ 3, just over 86,000 on the clock never missed a beat. I have been a bit mystified by all the new models and specs, loved that you took it on different roads , This is the model for me . By the way the cup holders were square in mine too !!

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really pleased you enjoyed the video and it might help you choose your next car 😊. The brand is very reliable , well put together and good value for money although the latest cars are a bit more due to the hybrid system and tech

    A great little car the only issue is the insurance is high groups starting at group 22 for the SZ3. Not bad for older people but makes it difficult for younger people , which is shame nice video Thanks

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really pleased you enjoyed the video, I am surprised the insurance is high , swift sport I just reviewed would be even worse 😳

    • @Mrpegs1
      @Mrpegs1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DamoDrives I am thinking about buying a SZ3 as a older person my insurance goes up slightly. I did ask my insurance provider about high group who stated that it could be down to sourcing parts in the unfortunate event of having an accident etc the parts would highly likely be shipped from Japan. I must add just what they said. Still think it is high for a 1.2 engine .Maybe why so many get A Fiesta ,Corsa etc I prefer the Swift.

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try and different insurance provider if you can. I have had that with previous cars as well, they are good little cars and lots of gadgets, swift sport is the best of the bunch mind you but you are looking at a £22k car

    Very good review. Definitely shortlisting this car. One question though - what's the peripheral vision like? How is it in terms of blind spots?

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s actually pretty good but you can get blind spot monitoring on some of the models. Just reviewed the swift sport which had it. There is a POV review of the car which might give you a better idea th-cam.com/video/T6VJdaT4_0M/w-d-xo.html

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not sure on the mpg for an auto but I would expect 50mpg to be a good estimate. Reliability on all Suzuki’s are very good and come out as 1 of the best manufacturers in customer satisfaction surveys

    Is the motor loud on the highway? Thinking about trading in my 2011 swift for a 2020 swift. Mine is loud as hell on the highway

    • @DamoDrives

      It was pretty good for a car In it’s class. The engine did well at cruising speeds so I did not think it was too bad. Waiting for the new swift sport in the coming weeks and will test it again for you at speed. Best thing is to test drive 😊, if you are near the dealer I was at please tell them I sent you. Thanks

    My dad has the sz3 (2020) model and says its a great car with really good fuel economy but the steering is a little wooly which is probably because of the suspension travel which is very comfortable, cant have it both ways lol

I EVENTUALLY SOLD IT TO MY GRAND CHILD [MALE] AS HE WAS ATTENDING UNIVERSITY AND NEEDED SOME ECONOMICAL CAR, I LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND AND JUST ABOUT EVERY SECOND CAR ONE SEE'S ON THE ROADS ARE A SUZUKI SWIFT, THEY ARE MORE POPULAR THAN THE MINI WAS A FEW YRS AGO ..

    Is the swift hybrid comes with another high capacity battery.what about its maintenance cost

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think it will effect things. LithiumIon batteries are generally really reliable and you get a warrenty.

  • @TMckenzie007
    @TMckenzie007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't see why you wouldn't want a hybrid car? I can when it work it's fine when it breaks all the savings you been trying to save now comes to reality with the cost of repairs and they do break, reliability is the biggest issues. No spare lol tyre £100 the repair kit dont work, all the tech not important a 2014 Peugeot 108 have all those tech. Reliability is what I'm interested in

    • @DamoDrives
      @DamoDrives  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is more complex but not as costly as a full PHEV. You get a warranty buying a new car so should not really be a concern. Suzuki are very reliable and voted the 2nd best manufacturer in the Uk. I agree with the lack of spare wheel. Yes you could buy a used car but not really the point of buying a new car, you can make a considerable saving buying used .
