I also made a set of these recently. I also used those stick on non slip furniture pads but the round cores I used were offcuts from a past project where I had to cut out these rounds with a hole saw. I think I glued 2 rounds together to give the thickness I wanted. Even cheaper than buying pucks and saved the waste pieces from the trash. 😀
Forgot to mention: the hole saw offcuts have a center hole drilled already since that's just how the hole saw works so you can put in a threaded insert in the middle and have the equivalent of the Rockler bench cookie. 😉

Great idea. It's one of those "Why didn't I think of that?" type ideas. Appreciate the videos. Subscribed yesterday. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the sub! It's something I might build on, I've got some ideas for changes and additions.

Thanks Robert, I was surprised more people hadn’t made them that way.

Why not inset a threaded insert and make it more versatile in order to add a post for bench dog holes or t track bolts? Thanks for the idea. Fred Z.

That definitely could be added!! I like the idea of T-track bolts.... I might have to revisit this in a future video. I didn't add them as I don't have a workbench in my shop with dog holes.... Thanks for watching!!!

Thank you, I have already ordered the pucks and pads from Amazon. The t-bolts will be easy to find, but not sure how I will create the dogs. Happy New Year. Fred Z

Found the cookies. Video is well done. Thank you. I wait for sales with Rockler. Their shipping free with emailed codes is good too but I wait and wait until it's 10-20% off.

Glad I could help, I think the pucks are good in addition to the rocker bench cookies...

The 3” pads must be cut to 2 3/4” to be reliable as a clamped stop. I like the lee valley 2 3/4” pads made for the hockey puck.

Lee Valley has sold pucks and the stick on film for years

Right. I linked them in the description back then. When I made the video they didn't have the pucks listed (they do now, must have been out at the time) Can still beat them on the puck price on Amazon. But they still have the best stick on gripper pads. Thanks for watching!!

I wonder why cookies have to be a round shape? Why couldn't we just cut square pieces of say... 3/4 inch board into 2 1/2 inch or whatever size squares. Then use a one side sticky pad or even glue and rubber pad for both sides. To make these with? Maybe I am wrong but these don't seem like a complicated tool. All we are using them for is to hold items up off the bench to paint or stain maybe some sanding??? Just a thought. Help me understand. Thank you for posting!

Also an after thought.... Maybe even drill a hole in the center of these square pieces and glue a short piece of dowel rod that fit our dog holes in our bench top if we wanted??

The pucks and bench cookies are a little heavier, that's the only thing I could think might make a difference. Some experimenting is definitely in order to determine if that would actually be an issue or not, and even if it is you could just drill a hole in the side and fill it with split shot or something.

I was actually in the shop tonight and cut up some scraps of 1/2" sande plywood into 2" squares. I had some square furniture pads of that size, so I glued two squares together with some super glue and then added the pads. They only weigh about 30 grams each. Haven't had a chance to test them, but they seem like they'd work just fine.
Considering staining them dark brown and calling them bench brownies.

I Love it!!! Are they adult brownies???
