I keep wondering: Why are bench cookies round? All those that I see are, but I don't really see applications resting on their roundness... So for DIY it seems more economical to make square ones (faster cutting and less wastage) with rounded corners or not. Any ideas?

Totally agree, not sure why they are round, haha. Maybe just so they can call them cookies. Definitely going with a square design would cut down on time making these.

@@blacktimbercompany5716 Thanks so much! OK I suppose now I'm obliged to start manufacturing square Bench Brownies(TM), and outcompete the established brands with less waste and faster construction... Hm.

Thought the same thing. I think I will make some using this video but cut them square with a slight/small rounded corners only.

Thank you for the great video. Which drill guide are you using to make the center holes? It looks beefier than mine. Thanks again.

A while back I'd made some circles from laminate flooring just for something to do. Now I know what I can do with them.

I know this video is now 5 years old, but @4:37 you use contact cement, which currently on Amazon is $15.99 and up, while 4 Rockler cookies are $18.99. It seems wiser to just buy the Rockler ones. Can I use other glues that I have around the house, like Gorilla glue or does that sticky material require contact cement?

guess, it would have been damn easy to cut the circles with a hole saw and a drill

Don't the push pins poke small holes in the project?

the non slip stuff you have on the work bench doesn't keep the disks from sliding. Why would it work on the disks? Nonsense.
