- Hey everyone, I'm still alive and animating! Just more active on other platforms nowadays, haha.
I had the opportunity to take on a colored rough animation commission for heyokjc (Instagram and Twitter) of a werewolf transformation! 🐺 I had SO much fun working on this. Thank you so much again! 💖 I intend to share WIPs of this piece on here as well in the future, but for now here is the tied down roughs with and without color!

This commission was done to fill in some time I had free between studio projects. I would LOVE to do more stuff like this if anyone is ever interested. Be aware, though, that I’m now full-time at Titmouse again, so I likely won’t be able to take on another one of these commissions immediately. That sneaky transition between the human-esque face and the full wolf snout when it escapes the camera is so funny to me for some reason- it must’ve took a good amount of planning for a shot like this!!
Yep, that's a sneaky little animation cheat which ALSO happens to conveniently sidestep one of the more psychologically disturbing elements in the sequence, the disruption to how we read/interpret the face.
@ you just made me think of a half-human half-wolf face attempting to smile and I can now quite clearly see the “psychologically disturbing” part because I thought of the mouth being under the snout like one of those budget cartoons.
no wonder disney hasn't been able to make 2D animations in so long- clearly it's because their best animator escaped from the studio! all jokes aside, GORGEOUS work

This is remarkable! I love how smooth you made the transformation between man and beast. This brings back memories of seeing other people's animations of werewolf transformations.

Impressive transformation animation, it looks so fluid. Great job keep it up.
That transformation and step in from a plantigrade stance into a digitrigade one was smooth as all hell in an overall very smooth animation.
I also like the detail of him first growing hair along a human pattern and then transforming into full fluff
