The Porsche museum is a car guy must see. It is amazing to see all the history on display. There is also a wonderful restaurant and a fabulous cigar/whiskey room. I visited several years ago and hired a new 918 Cayman for a weekend from the factory. They have me a private tour of the restoration workshop as well. Great memories brought back by James. Thanks for taking us along again.
@@LuisJimenez-yn5rk As someone else mentioned, Porche is renowned for its reliability compared to most other luxery car manufacturers. Ferrari is not known as reliable. Porche's generally have decent road clearance and very comfortable so are an awesome daily driver.
I don't say this often, but I'm impressed with the filming/editing. great angles switched with B-roll when changing position while the conversation flows on. Quite impressive, seems TV level, but better because the conversation isn't hampered by the filming.
I was fortunate to visit two weeks after opening and everything was literally brand new, it was an amazing experience! One highlight for me that’s not shown here is some sectional displays where cars were cut in half so that you could see the inner cross sections and it was cut so precisely, that even where the airbag was and electronic control units were, the detail was retained exceptionally well - down to even capacitors on the circuit boards being cut in half. It was as if a laser had sliced the car and then encapsulated it within a glass panel. I look at those photos occasionally and re-live those cool memories!
The fact that this dude has made a modern, minimalist masterpiece of a Porsche museum garage makes this priceless. He's done a service to the history of design. This is a seriously great way to spend however much this sir spent making this presentation of his collection. I have nothing but 100% respect for this.
I went to the tiny museum at the factory (and had a private factory tour) back in 2000…I have GOT to go back and see this place! It is amazing!!! Thanks for the tour!
A couple months ago, I went to stuttgart and was fortunate enough to visit this museum and the mercedes museum on the same day, and this video really captures the awe of the porsche museum, one of the coolest experiences of my life.
I wonder if there is anything missing from their incredible collection Also, the 6-hour video sounds amazing, actually. The storage garages would be epic to see too
I wonder if they have any example of their more prosaic models, that arguably are their most successful models. Cars like the Cayenne and Mecan. Edit: I commented while watching and subsequently saw some examples in a panning shot. Looks like a great tour of the brand.
Wow!!! Thank you for making this video! Great informative commentary and cinematography! I would love to one day visit this museum. Coincidently yesterday we hosted our cars & coffee Porsche themed day in Sherwood Oregon USA where about 300 Porsches attended. It was a fantastic day and now I have a load of video footage to eventually edit and post on my TH-cam channel. Keep making your fantastic content and keep having fun in the twisties! Cheers! 👍
Really James, Porsche is really one of those exclusive collection of skittles. Like, look at those fantastic color schemes and cars like 917 gulfs, 961 rothmans, 911 gt1, 935 martini, etc. This is the main reason why Porsche is the best car manufacturer IMO. Great and informative video btw James!
What an amazing museum! The opening James Bond music sets the tone perfectly. Getting to see all the iconic Porsche racing cars gathered in one place is an absolute thrill. From the early models that dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to the modern hybrid hypercars, the Porsche legacy of excellence in motorsports shines brightly. The displays of significant road cars through the decades are also fantastic. This museum is a must-visit for any car enthusiast.
What I just love about this channel, James is a guy with a lot of money, cars & network. But he is still such a humble and grounded car enthusiast. You can feel the power of joy in videos like this. I hope someday I can meet you in persona just for a quick (or long) chat. And again I forgot, that Porsche has such an amazing museum not that far away from me. Need to get there soon. Thanks James for taking us all along the car world for so many years, been following now for nearly 7.
been there 3 times but can never get enough of it. I always find myself returning whenever I'm in the area 🤩😊 Also the moment you get in a 911 if its your own or just one that they rent out to the public its over. Even though there may be faster cars, cars that offer more luxury, more rare cars the peak and dream is to own a Porsche one day some day🙌
This was an awesome video! Before I saw this video I was thinking it would be awesome to see you do a video on a Porsche 959. With you driving and doing a full video documentary on it. It would be great if you could do it. Your videos are educational and articulate. I enjoy watching them. Thank you!
Me, watching the video, smiling all the time, like a small kid with his favorite show. Great explanations, beautiful place. Thx for recording it and sharing it with us.
i was looking thru pics of when i went to the Porsche museum when i was watching the video, its such a nice collection. i remember the smell of motor oil in the air.
Amazing.. What a museum. - Both of your knowledge combined is amazing. Thank you for sharing, James. Could watch the 6-hour version mentioned without blinking... :p
Awesome video james.Would love love love to go there, unbelievable place,my idea of heaven.Totally agree with you about the gt1 racing era, definitely one of the best.Seen a few of them cars actually racing, great memories
A common misconception about the 956 holding the ring record for so long, was that the circuit layout was changed shortly after the record was done. So the attempts coming later would have a significantly longer circuit to cover in order to beat the same record.
Jerry Seinfeld has some cars which are not even here and his collection is more exciting at the end knowing it’s a private person and not the brand itself.
That museum is amazing! I was there some years ago before Covid when the design was grey/black of the museum and I must say, all the while race cars poped a lot better then than now in the overlit which space. Anyhow, the cars are just a marvel to look at and see how much the tech has developed.
Porsche are my all time favourite brand since I was a small boy and still are to this day no other brand has so much heritage both on and off the track and cars that you can drive every day.
My biggest regret while visiting Germany was not hopping on the train from Munich to Stuttgart to see both the Porsche and Mercedes Benz museums. I must go back
I had a great experience there just a few years ago. Got to talk to one of the employees about some PTS colors on the 911s on show and the he opened up the Carrera GT for me as well as a few race cars. Simply beautiful the way Porsche treat visitors and car nerds👏 Respect. I would go back again🔥
😊❤ I love that museum where is that? I would love to go there to see all the lovely looking Porsches and I’ll bring my Porsche shirt and Portia belt buckle. Can you show me around the whole museum? I like that a lot
I think perhaps your best content yet. I visited the museum not long after it opened and it's incredible - I genuinely felt the motorsport side to the brand, and it made me love Porsche even more. But the stories and nuggets you unearthed - superb. Yorkie - this is some top level production man 👍
Id still watch a 6hr video on this ❤️
Good to see that Benjamin is still with Museum. Big professional, great personality and to the bone Porsche man. Keep going Benji 👊

I did the same last june and this video is such a great memory. What a place to visit. I am still in shock.
It's friday, you're eating bbq with beer and a MR JWW video is released of your favorite car brand. Can it get any better?
Yes. Mr. JWW joins you in watching the video and shares some insights that are not in the video 😮
Yes it can. You join Mr. JWW in touring the museum

Best Brand. Best Museum. Best Benjamin 😉 He knows just so many details it’s mind-blowing. I could here him talk all day. Great Content!
definitly the best car brand in the world overall, its acutally art, quality, speed and reliability on wheels. amazing video as always!
I'm a huge fan of porsche old & new, my wife knows zero about cars but she can spot a Porsche from a mile out! Makes me proud lol
Ferrari people say the same thing, so I guess the term best car brand is very subjective.
@@LuisJimenez-yn5rk no one is saying Ferrari is ‘reliability on wheels’.

isn't it the Porsche museum?
It is Porsche's own museum after all but it definitely is breathtaking.

I visited a few years ago and seeing cars from my racing days youth. I have driven Porsche since I was 15 and I'm 70 now.
Absolutely top premium video editing. The sound quality is superb and precision is off the chart. Well done 👍🏼

Absolutely phenomenal museum !!!!!! Would be incredible to visit someday. Thank you for the excellent tour, gentlemen!
I wonder if there is anything missing from their incredible collection
Also, the 6-hour video sounds amazing, actually. The storage garages would be epic to see too
Audi RS2 Avant by Porsche should be near that Benz modified by Porsche.. ;0)
And there is a Harley V-Rod in the collection, the V2 engineered by Porsche.
I wonder if they have any example of their more prosaic models, that arguably are their most successful models. Cars like the Cayenne and Mecan.
Edit: I commented while watching and subsequently saw some examples in a panning shot. Looks like a great tour of the brand.
Hope there's a VW Beetle in there ❤😂 said with love

I was there in 2018. It is incredible. A must see for all car enthusiasts.
