I have a 2011 kia soul sport. The engine light was on with the p0455 code, I drove over an hour and stopped to get gas and it sucked in air for a really long time. Then spit the gas out. It ended up cracking the tank in half so I had it replaced. Now the light is back on, the gas tank vacuumed again and it spit gas. I've been driving without the gas cap and it hasn't had any issues and actually runs better as I was slipping when I run with gas cap on. Do you know what one of the I should check first! I can stop at autozone and see if there reader will engage the purge system so I can listen for that. I'd appreciate any input!!
Thanks for sharing. After fueling i discover i had abad purge Valve. I replaced it. After i still get a p0455 large leak evap code. Is not my gas cap i teplaced it recently foxed the leak. But now after replacing purge valve. I get same leak. Is it common that after purge valve goes bad in a gas station. Car didnt wanted to start. So i press the gas and got it to start and wen home like thay. Could that maybe messed up my control valve. Since my purge wasnt working to get rid of the fumes and maybe those fumes messed up the evap control valve attached to the charcol canister ?
Do you suggest changing the Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Valve part #394613C200 or the Purge Control Valve part# 289103L135. Seems like your video states the solenoid, but doesn't mention the valve and the diagram doesn't even show that there is one..
The valve is the part of the solenoid that opens; they are basically the same thing. There are two solenoids/valves in an EVAP system, one with the charcoal sinister (Vent Valve) and the other near the engine (Purge Valve).
VERY informative, thank you! Now I feel like I can understand what the dealership will tell me when I take the car in this week.
Thanks for this video my guy. I fixed my check engine light soon as I went back to the original gas cap
I came to say thank you for the video. It helped me a lot!
Thanks man ! Your a big help I have a Acura tsx and that has that issue
