    Found this today while researching Dunc Gray for my daughters family history... What a gem! He was my great great great? Uncle.

    I was a kid in the late sixties early seventies and this though probably a bit older really brings back memories. Today most think they have to go to a bike shop even for the simplest repair but this reminds us with a basic tool kit pretty much anything can be fixed simply on a bike. In the UK when I grew up we could take a cycling proficiency course at school which most did as it was a matter of pride to have the badge.
    I remember as well just as you can see here, when you got your first bike it was always a bit too big at first but it was purchased so we could grow into it, days of thrift and a non throwaway culture. I had my first bike from the age of eight until I left senior school, it’s why adjustable saddles were invented! :)
