Sir I have a question if IAAS is an independent entity headed by CAG and cannot be interfer easily by govt of India then why alway IAS is CAG who is involved with politician in his/her entire career.. shouldn't it be more reasonable and rightly given the CAG to IAAS officer itself so there shouldn't be any external involvement in this department like IAS officer as CAG that are being practiced today..? I am Just curious... And I believe like its being bias with IAAS officer because in his entire career like they will work as an independent entity but serving the IAS as CAG at the end which is not like independent at all... I know IAS being the oldest Indian Civil service (existed even before it was known as IAS) is given preference but is not at all an independent entity and I think they shouldn't be given preference for CAG post so that they could be always independent..

Its the political hegemony which keeps IAS lobby active. Otherwise, every ministry have their own guy as their head. It was errupted many times in News and SC. Dont worry brother. They wld appoint IAAS guy only.

@@sarthakgamer5485 in terms of work life balance, nothing beats IA&AS. The promotion is at par with IAS and IPS counterparts. Only demerit is that you don't get a typical sarkari bungalow but a good luxurious 4-BHK flat. You can see Yarrows Apartment in Noida (it looks like the private apartments and the apartment are exclusively for IA&AS only). Most of the CAG offices are in capital cities. So another plus point of posh posting. Within 16 years of service one becomes Principal Account/Principal Auditor General of a state. So yeah, it's a win win even if you get IA&AS. MOREOVER, one can get IA&AS with a rank of 500-700

@@sarthakgamer5485 almost same. Only thing that you'll miss is bada sa bungalow and naukar chakar. You'll still get a Maid/home service.
CAG AAO(Assistant Audit/Account Officer) SSC CGl through Gazetted post bhi matlab achi post hai wo bhi promotion ke through deputy Account general to ban hi jayega.

The bifurcation of the department to Audit and Accounts in 1983 was a great blunder. The expertise personnel at work of one department is not available to the other department. The government should consider restoration of the unification of the department.

If you want to become ias then take go with BA cz in medical and engineering you might not have a proper time for preparation
