I was in the US Army when C-rations were still around. This white bread can was rare as hens teeth. The chocolate cake and fruit cake were as available as the sand on a beach.

@@connormarx8207 Like I said that can of white bread was as rare as hen's teeth. So I never saw one for myself.
I thought the Chocolate Nut Roll cake had a weird chocolate taste. Not as sugary sweet like most chocolate cakes. All the C-ration cakes were very dense. Nothing like regular cake that is soft and spongy. I did like the Fruitcake. Having the typical dried fruits that fruitcakes have. The best Fruitcakes are the cakes made by the Corsecana Fruitcake Company, in Corsecana, Texas.
When it involves C-raton cakes you really want the Pecan Nut Roll. A cake with pecans and cinnamon. It was a great day if you got one.

One thing about older C-rations were all C-ration meals had a pack of cigarettes inside the accessory package. The cigarettes were in C-rations made prior to 1971. A pack of four cigarettes each. You got one of the following brands: Lucky Strike, Marlboro, Pall Mall, Kool's, or, Benson & Hedge's. Some people claim they got Camals. Never saw those. I had some French Army C-rations. The French cigarettes were awful. The cigarette filter was more like toilet paper stuffed in cigarette paper. Those cig's tasted so bad they took the hair off your chest and put it back on again. Enough to make you want to be a Monk in a Monastery.
