- Hello viewers, i received alot of messages regarding bs4 engine stalling, shutting down abruptly.. even i had similar issues, so after finding the root cause for it have come up with this video explaining how it can be resolved on your own.
if youll have any question ull can contact me on +91 9820570789.
Bohot badia video banaya a hai . I’m facing same problem in BS-6 Himalayan Auto-cut mardeti hai faulty mei Clutch extra pakad ke rakhna padta hai
Thank you from Missouri USA. I was having this issue and you helped me fix it!!!
Ur welcome brother 🤘🏻
Hi bro,
I have same issue randomly when I press the clutch. Have the above solution really solved the issue??
I am actually planning to try it.
This has been a MASSIVE help! I went one step further and bypassed the EVAP system entirely.
How to do that?? Is it working fine now without any issues??
@@kulajyotisarma3412 follow the two pipes coming from the tank. One is a breather pipe (leave this), the other leads to the evap system under the skid pan. Disconnect the pipe leading to the evap system and route it to the same location as the breather pipe. There is pipe coming from the evap system to the throttle body. Disconnect it from the evap system and cut it short and block it off. Now pull out the whole evap system and throw it in the bin.
Problem solved!
Thanks for making one platform where we all Himalayan Riders can get awareness of many things related with Himalayan,
As RE Himalayn is a bike which relates the with the Heart and you are trying to add Happiness and Joy to that.
Keep it up.
God Bless You.
Thanx alot rajesh bhai one of the best compliments i have recvd... bhai u guys are my real motivation.ull keep it upto. Will keep coming with helpful info.
That was very informative sir. In addition to that, if you say the solution for the engine heating issue for Himalayan BS4, it'll be very helpful. Love from Karnataka ❤
My engine stalled every time I try to turn right. Mate you are a life saver
Ur ingnition switch cable must have got a cut or is getting untacked from the soldier joint of it(below the key switch) remove the key switch and check ull be able to see that.
@@Montuned there was a cut in my switch cable, we replaced it with new wire. Seems to be working ok now
Hi there. Great video! I have just purchased a RE Himalayan 2019 with carburetor. Yesterday I pumped some fuel and after a few blocks, the bike went off . First time. I am so disappointed with an otherwise very good motorcycle. Would you know how to apply your fix to this carburetor model? Thanks in advance mate. Cheers from South America.
Hello , im a bit off on this cos the 2019 model comes with the injectors n not carb so if u could share some more details on it
@@Montuned hi there! Thanks for replying. Ok, so, I live in Bolivia and the RE dealer offered the himalayans with carburetor only during 2019. This year they were offering 2021 himalayans back in early August. So, correctness or ethics aside, I'm guessing mine could be a 2018 bike, but sold as a 2019. I bought it second hand, and it is in good shape, apart from the self killing issue. I can send some pics if you like to. Just send me an email to mauri_bolivia@yahoo.com and I'll reply. Again, thank you so much for your time.
I've experience this stall out too. I also noticed the tank under pressure, but thought it was the cap. Considering I've had my tank off to do my own service, it's possible my hose is pinched off too. When I do my 3,000 mile service I'll redirect the line and be sure it isn't pinched. Thanks for the info.
Ur welcome brother. I hope it solves ur issue and there is nothing else to it.
How does changing the side of evaporation pipe solve the problem?
Superb Monty bhai... let me fix my BS4 Himalayan :)
We could just remove the evap kit and connect the tube coming from the throttle body directly to the tank....
Excellent, touch up of the problem...... liked it bro..
Hats off guys. I just liked the sincerity and the simplicity of the vlog. I too own a Himalayan Sleet and was happy to see KD there .
Finally a video from you .. I was wanting to see real life DIYs for Himalayan
Saurabh Garg thanx for appreciating it will come up with many more such...
You are a good teacher, thumbs up for the effort.
Very informative, Thank you for this.
1 question :
After redirecting it, do we put the pipe in the same socket from the one we took it out( riders right side) or is it the left socket that we put the pipe back in?
Vijay Pathak re fit it at the same socket from where u removed it dont interchange them
@@Montuned Thanks!
....wonderfuel!! ...so Indiaaaaarghn!! Danyabaht pals!!
How come MIL didn't come on when you turned on ignition without tank?
Hi. Can you also put a DIY blog for spark plug checking and cleaning and removing other carbon deposits in the bike.
I have a BS4 Himalayan bro. Will this solve the problem permenantly else for a time being??
Bhai.....
Great this thing Really Helped lot.....
Great video Brother same stalling problem... mechanic tells the fuel pump is totally blocked with dirt and needs to be changed the bike has been just 1.5 years old is it possible to have pump blocked so early??. Or it is something to do what u showed??.pls tell
Neeraj Naik it cud be possible but then too only if the fuel u fill from that pump has dirt in it. Or else try doing shown in the video and also make sure u always keep the fuel above trip F so the fuel pump dosent catch air oftenly
@@Montuned thanks a lot
What is the role of the canister which is connected with evaporation pipe
Wow I will forward this too my bs4 Himalayan friends
VSK Biker msging u in PM brother
Very informative.Keep up the Good work Montybhai.
Thanxs Jeet bhai
@montuned. Very informative vedio. I also own a Himalayan bs4 n facing the same stalling issue but only on lower gears.
Hi,
I am too facing the same problem in low gears. Is the above technique solved the issue??
Same issue here. Bike stalls wen slowed down, at times, in lower gear. Its so random, its difficult to judge wts gonna hpn in wt moment!
If you have continued tank vacuum symptoms (stalling, shut-down, sucking noise when opening the tank) after this fix, you may want to check the fuel cap. Those often have one-way valves designed to alleviate vacuum. If it malfunctions, it may present similar symptoms.
Yes true
Brother! I loved the way you explained it! Just planning to buy himalayan BS4 but a sense of nervousness is there owing to the reliability issues? What do you suggest? Is BS4 reliable?
Hirein Nag yes u can go for it.. its completely worth it.. almost all the issues are resolved and if there are any left then we can resolve it ourselves too its no big deal.
@@Montuned Thanks brother!
Very interesting vlog. Unfortunately motorcycle manufacturers are required to install emission control devices - which complicate a very simple piece of machinery.
Hi brother I am planning to buy Royal Enfield Himalayan or mojo , please suggest me which one is good long distance touring .
Himalayan any day
Hi brother , I have bought Himalayan bs4 -ABS . I have two doubts which looks like issue , please clarify me
1. When I start abs light in dashboard working , after getting in to first gear few meters abs light is turned off .
2. Temperature which shows in bike is too high on dashboard than actual temperature for example early morning in Bangaluru temperature is 23 c and after driven 30 kms temperature is showing 35 c .
Please let me know bro
Amazing, Very good explanation Monty bhai.. Was easily been able to understand from you.
Hi, I have been noticing tat while I drive the Bike shuts off in the Middel of the Road. The instrument cluster is ON but the Engine Shuts down. I spoke to the RE Service center and they told me tat it's normal on the BS4 and they also told me tat I shouldn't fill the fuel tank up to the neck. I would like to have ur suggestion as to what needs to be checked and what should I do to avoid this from happening.
Water collected from fuel cap....how it can be goes out...???
My himalayan is missing and shutting of while accelerating. only sometimes.when cruising on higways the issue facing..🥺
Sir g any solution on cone set problem in bs3 himalyan
In my himlain i have fail engin prublum my machnic replaic the computer tu gt computer and it solved this prublem the himlain is wonderfull now.
Am having a bs3 himalayan and is facing engine missing/cutting issue. This problem is worse when its under 3000 rpm. I replaced the carburetor as instructed by the service centre but still has the issue. Any suggestions??
Hi if ur mumbai then pls drop down ill check it personally, cos difficult to suggest anything without checking
Am aslo having this issue in bs3 himalayan
Bro
I am having 20/L milage only 2600 kms have been riden will the milage improve
Its easy to test the pressure / vacuum in the fuel tank theory, when the bike engine stalls due to this issue just open the tank filer cap and let it breath, then lock the cap, if it starts and runs properly then there is most probably a pressure / vacuum issue with the breather system.
Bhai kya Himalayan ek reliable bike hai?? Mera first bike hone wala hai toh vo atleast 8-10yrs to chalana hai.
Aapke opinion meh vo last karega?
Also upload some tricks to improve fuel efficiency.
Hi AK. Yes even bs4s can be tuned, any automotive engine can be tuned provided the method differs.
Secondly bs4 himalayans arent having many issues it seems they have resolved them n improved it to a gr8 extent. Yes very few bs4 owners have recently informed me abt the cone set issue in thier new bike. But still yet to recv a feedback from them abt its solutions. Thirdly bhai none bikes stay alive for 10yrs those old engines where the ones that lasted these new ones also will if they have been maintained well. Thats all i can say
Very informative. Please post more on himalayan BS4 DIY . It can be an all rounder from RE if some of its small issues get solved.
ok .. thanks .. I understand that what matters is that the fuel arrived free to the carburetor ... thank you very much
No Jose Gonzale, there was no problem with fuel delivery, it was with the evaporator line....
Wow very informative thanx mate God bless you
Aatif Syed thanx
So, lets see if I understand this correctly, a fuel tank breather pipe could be pinched due to poor routing out of the factory. This causes the tank to over pressurise, rendering the fuel pump ineffective and causing fuel starvation. Re-routing the breather carefully means it won't get pinched again. Yes?
Hello david greetings. The evap pipe that goes to its unit in the skid plate has too many turns and in the due course it gets pinched somewhere or the othr. So rerouting it makes it have less turns and twist due to which the pressure building up in the tank lessens and hence the starvation happening further stalling the engine is resolved.
@@Montuned Thanks for the detailed reply.

No i donot. For further conversation u can msg me on whats app 9820570789
Sayantan tikader i face petrol leak problem.how did you solve this
Seems logical is it corrected in new model?
Nope
Bhai tks for the video.. i have a boubt i have done 7000 km no issues but now i am not getting that air escaping sound from the fuel tank of bs4 Himalayan when i open it. Is that a problem?? Please advise.
No that is isnt.
Thank you so much
Konsa bike accha rahega bs3 ya bs4 long journey keliye sir
Dono hi same hai sirf fueling system alag hai. Aur agar le hi rahe ho toh naye waali bs4 with ABS hi lo, better hai
I am having the same issue, but only after riding a long distance. I have shown to the RE service center, they told the evaporator tube may be squeezed somewhere and they fixed it. But after a long ride again the problem started. The engine warning light glowing during that time.
But next day when I started the bike it was alright. Now for small distance engine is not stalling or shutoff.
What will be the reason now?
Siby George ask them to reflash the ecu and then see if it still happens or not
Do you think RE Himalayan bs4 is worth a buy?
Yes it is provided the cone set issue has been resolved. Cos quite a few bs4 owners are still facing this problem on the latest abs model too
@@Montuned yes bro. I am facing this issue in ABS model.
Hey i tried this & it worked for while but again facing the same issue
I have a problem with my himalayan. Im hearing some weird tik tik noise from the left side of the bike during acceleration and the sound appears frequently when the engine gets heated.service centre guys say its due to the clutch plate.can u please provide a solution for this. Thanks in advance👍
Keep going bro🖤🖤👌
It has been 20 days of owning the himalayan and i faced it as well.
What u did for that issue??
Surely the pipe is a tank breather and the problem is one of vacuum in the fuel tank? I suspect that you have entirely mischaracterised the problem of fuel stoppage to the FI system. It is quite common for tank breather systems to block by rubber pipes being folded or pinched and this causes a vacuum when fuel is withdrawn from the tank by the user driving and sucking fuel out of the tank. Eventually, the vacuum becomes too great and no more fuel can be pumped out and the engine stops or splutters badly. If you open the tank filler cap you get a 'woosh' as air rushes in. I think you described it the wrong way around and said pressure was coming out. I don't believe that you understand the problem even though re-routing the breather pipe may have solved the issue for you.
@@609neo Thanks for the information.
Also......you have an awesome beard!!!
To the point
Brijesh Tank thanks. But these guys were too funny n it was difficult to be upto the point when there is so much fun and masti going around.

That's something which is happening on my BS3 ALSO
Bhai you are awesome ❤️
Thnx bhai !!
Iam with same issue.....let me try your solution.
I fell couple of times due to engine stalling
I HV 1 problem heating issue in bent pipe nd even oxygen sensor also heating so much after ride 4-5 km......I put a leaf in the bent pipe it burned
Can u help me please
Obviously brother it will be that hot. Not only yours but everybdys bikes bend pipe and the O2 sensor fit on it wud be extremely hot since thats where the hot exhaust gases escape from.
@@Montuned bro the bent pipe got reddish yellow they used low quality metal...........we all have to complain Mr. Siddharth lal
@@theunstoppablewanderer9082 thats how it wud become once we start using the bike. It has been happening in all the RE models since decades and thats not a problem. Bcos it gets burnt everytime we ride.
@@Montuned I my 350cc never get heating problem or any other problem......
Thank you bro for detailed explanation... ✌️
One issue after another even though its a small issue you get irritated on long trip..any way have RE resolved these issues..because I am planning to buy one..
amar99ify bhai there are not that many issues nor there were that many issues hose who dont own this bike have also spoken alot abt it.. those who have upgraded from activa have also spoken abt it. I do not disagree that it never had issues but they are been resolved long time ago... all the rumours u heard were 90% over hyped. I completed 3yrs and still running strong on bs3 while bs4 is also running strong since 2 yrs. every bike has its share of issues so does himalayan. But then for those issues where the company or the owners dont have a solution then we are here to help those. Blindly go for it
Thankyou montuned bhai for your sincere and honest advice..
how to set idling in himalayan?
@Mounted please make video on this
if only RE factory would take so much interest in improving their bikes, customers would not have to improvise to solve problems that should not have been there in the first place , no other motorcycle brand gives problems to customers as much as RE
How many km does the back tyre runs for Himalayan
6500

Bro make a video on wheel alignment
Not work, mine continue doing that. When cold, worst!!
Ricardo Ambrosig in ur case it cud be something else check its idling rpm in cold n hot both. U can even get ur ecu reflashed
@@Montuned engine satll when cold and a few blocks..... idle RPM are ok when in temperature but starting is hard, even with choke
Ricardo Ambrosig whats the cold idling rpm and also when its hot
@@Montuned 900RMP cold, 1000/1200 at work temperature. (data from scanner)
what is your qualification?
Commerce graduate.
This has nothing to do with stalling. In order to breathe, your tank must have a vent somewhere that will relieve both vacuum and pressure. just like why we put 2 holes in an oil barrel to get the oil flowing. BS3 bikes or for that matter, ALL BIKES or CARS or anything that runs on gasoline has vent holes. Gasoline expands in volume as it warms up and shrinks in volume as it cools down. The fuel level of your tank changes throughout the day, even if you are not driving it. ... This is simply a gas cap with a hole in it !!!! your explanation is quite embarrassing and you might want to take this video down or at least edit it.
@@mohba01 im sorry but u asking for my qualification has nothing to do with my work. Professional we are vendors for RE and business wise into aviation industry.. coming to my video wat u explained has also the right theory in it but are u aware why there is a evap pipe in the tank? And what is the work of the unit below in the belly of the bike? Pls try and find out that before commenting. I appreciate ur time uve invested in seeing the video and giving a feedback as well. But then its the company guys themselves also who had done wat i did and are resolving the issue similarly. My video was just a medium for those who cannot go to the SC every now and then n can do it themselves.
If the bike falls ever over & the end of the breather hose is below the bottom of the fuel tank .. so that no fuel will spill out .. thus you don't lose fuel. This is the reason. The BS4 has a fuel pump which DOES NOT rely on air pressure or gravity, and this is not a resolution to anything ! please don't embarrass yourself any further. the reason why i asked for your qualitification is, if you have formal education background that involved fluid mechanics, you might not have posted this video in the first place or for that matter ASSUME WHAT THE SC GUYS SAY IS THE SOLUTION. - MY 0.2 PAISA.
@@mohba01 again u dint get my point i understand the fluids mechanics u stated but then again are u aware what is there below and y does the evap pipe go down there and what is the regulations as per bs4 emissions. Pls stop embarrassing urself for not answer my question
First find out why it is there and what is its function... and then ull understand what i did. And my 2 paisa advice its always good to learn and to be open for learning irrespective of the qualification.
Please suggest a method to clear that issue
ishaan khurana im not facing that issue in my bs3 so ill catch hold of some one who also has the same issue n will figure out the solution and get back.
ishaan khurana when your bike dies and wont go pull out the spark plug earth it on the motor and check for spark. No spark its an electrical problem. If there is spark its a fuel issue. Sorry not a solution but it will point you in the direction to go looking for the problem.
That was good one.. but I got BS3 and facing the same issue... gave to service center multiple times they told to change air filter and spark plug.. and i just lost my money.. no change at all
Anesh Cheriyankandath are u from mumbai? If so then y don u drop in to meet me personally we will find a solution to it
Am sorry Montu.. but am from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu

Thnx bhai for the feedback. Im still learning the art of vlogging. So my focus is more on providing the solution n helping the viewers to understand the procedure to do so. But still i appreciate u paying so close attention to it and letting me know about it.👍🏻
always got your peet(back) bro
Thats very true and irritating
@monty bhai... Creating a video to tune BS3 will be useful
Santosh Ramamurthy it wont be much useful bcos there are many videos abt tunning carbs already present which could be reffered but then its only a tuner who wud be able to distinguish how much he needs to set the air fuel as per tge internal feeling that he gets. Its a connect between the tuner and the machine they sync together thats how it gets tunned so accurately... yes i dont deny that othrs wont be able to do. They will but it will take time and practise and also that level of understanding abt the machine.
Whu don't call Enfield to fix up this problem via email
There are many things for which u cant wait for company to do everything. This was something where alot of himalayan owners had asked me for the solution for this problem they were facing n so hence made a video for it and its solution. Its for educational purpose. Himalayan owners do a lot of long rides too so it could help them in case if they face it while on rides and have no access to the service centre
That is vapour pressure of fuel bro
