Planning on going to Albania in the Spring with the great possibility of retiring there. I've been enjoying your videos and the great thoughts and info you share. Thanks so much!
Glad y’all doing OK. Do not get me started on the medical issues in the US but hey, Albania as the US has - and + Ylli Merja is a GREAT doctor that uses herbal medicine used from centuries. Andrea, Thank you for sharing with us today, I look forward to meeting everyone this November if anyone is still around, Patrick and April might be in Pogradec by then and you and Jesse in the States but I will be there for the month so perhaps we can connect at some point. Kruje definitely looks rich with history and the photo of Patrick was Hilarious! it sounds like everyone had an amazing time together.
Such a coincidence My kids use powerhouse and outschool also. Wonderful to hear about the holistic health center there because my family uses a similar facility in Florida. I’m looking forward to visiting and seeing Albania as our future possible home.
@@SowViableGardens they are great homeschool resources! We are originally from Florida. I know there are some great holistic health places there. I was surprised that the herbal teas and all that were so easy to find here. And so much more affordable.
If you can, let us know how you go about learning the language. I'm just getting the alphabet down myself. At least each letter has a single sound, unlike English. Thanks for the video!
I’m currently using TH-cam videos, and just trying to translate things around town. Jesse is putting post-it notes around the house with Albanian words on it. I tried flash cards, that didn’t work for me. People keep recommending to watch tv and movies in Albanian. I’m doing that, but I’m not convinced it’s helping lol. We watched a moving here recently that was in English with Albanian subtitles, I tried to read the subtitles to help me learn the language. I only remember one curse word 😂 I will make a video when I start to figure out a good method!
@@ExpatSingleMom That's hilarious about the curse word. A friend of mine, who was studying Italian on her own, tried iTalki and loves it. If you do it, you may be able to have coffee with an iTalki teacher in Tirana! Good for you for putting in the effort. Always great to be able to talk a bit of the language of the country in which you live.

Hi! We came across your channel from watching Patrick's videos. My husband, me and our 4 year old and 15 year old will be moving out there next year. How is school going for your son?
My son is 16, and hope to meet you and your fam when you get here. We thought the chances of us finding another American teenager out here were slim to none. Are you moving to Tirana? My son is joining a really cool program for teenagers here in Tirana called Tumo. It's an educational program, (all in English) and a great way for kids to meet other kids while getting involved in positive projects. We are going to make a video about Tumo in the future.
@@virsapiensfortisest922 that’s really cool to hear that there are so many families coming out this way with teenagers. When will you be coming? Hope to meet you all!
@@ExpatSingleMom I’m a single mom as well working remotely. My oldest turns 16 in February so her passport is easy, but my younger one is the issue. Her father and I divorced when she was 1 and he decided he didn’t want to pay child support and disappeared. All this to say it’s going to be a bit more difficult to get her passport. I’m having to hire an attorney to get sole custody. If you know any way around this I would sure appreciate the advice. It would save me about $7500.
@@virsapiensfortisest922 I’m really happy there are more teens coming! Yay:) as far as the passport thing, I know you can fill out the DS-5525 form which is an additional form when a parent with custody is absent. You would document attempts to contact this parent etc. they might approve it especially since she is older. In my experience they seem to vet parents with smaller children more. But every situation is so different.
