FYI, Yamamoto's Bankai burns at 15 million degrees Celsius. His Bankai is non-hyperbole as hot as the Sun's core. "One million degrees" is a massive underrepresentation of Yamamoto's Bankai power.
From what I understand, East is specifically the concentration of the flames within the blade, meaning any physical touch erases things. North is the release of those flames in a move similar to Getsuga Tenshou, carrying the same destructive force as East but not restricted to the blade itself.
We never seen Ichigo’s true Bankai. And on top of that he hasn’t mastered bankai even if it was shown. Hope to see Ichigo, Yamamoto, and more if Hell Arc gets a green light

The only way to beat him was never head on it was always a technicality that rivalled or beat him. Just shows the power he had that his foes knew taking him head on was not going to end well for them.
U left out Yamamoto being prolific in Hakudo. As we saw him not just tear off Wonderweiss arms bare handed he used 2 special Hakuda moves in Ikkotsu which sent Wonderweiss flying through buildings and left a permanent hole in his midsection. Then Yamamoto used Sokotsu which killed Wonderweiss outright easily.
In actuality Yamamoto became more powerful than he ever was due to his change of heart and due to his death. Look at what transpired when he passed. For the ones that thinks he went out so messed up, the since of the passed must be paid, and he paid for it and is still paying for it in hell......the soul society still thrives and that's all he wanted In the end.

When I started thinking about it, I wonder how far they went with Taoism or something like that, if I remember correctly, the idea is there are multiple different afterlives, and when you die in one you're reincarnated into the next based on the type of person you chose to be. Depending on how far they went with it if a person died in the soul society they would simply reincarnate into the next afterlife, hell was reserved for those particularly evil people, it also meant it was impossible to destroy a soul, as attempting to do so would simply cause them to reincarnate into the next life, the only way out of the cycle of reincarnation was to achieve enlightenment.
All Captain class Shinigami's go to hell when they die. Shunsui just figured that out in the One Shot No Breath from Hell. So with Yamamoto, Utikake & Yachiru Unohana all dying hell just got a lot scarier!
Well yeah, Yamamoto is in Hell along with Ukitake, Unohana Yachiru and all previous captains. If Kubo does the entire Hell arc and the occupants of Hell become the next antagonists, we're in for some awesome fights
While ywach and most fans seem to think yamas biggest mistake was his world view change. I'd argue his biggest issue was that his world view didn't change enough. After the wonderweiss situation and needing to rely on ichigo to finish aizen. It should've been apparent to the leader that maybe he should reevaluate all threats that have happened. He always expected to be the strongest, while 1 on 1 he was, both villains came out with counters.

Yamamoto definitely earned a place in Valhalla that fight was epic. the way they showed the the concentrated flame(east) was the most terrifying to me, its like that object that is so hot you don't realize its burning you until you already have 3rd degree burns.
At the very least, I hope in the anime they change one thing in honor of Yamamoto. Near the end of the series, when Ichigo cuts Yhwach in half from chapter 684, just before he dies, he decides to take Ichigo with him to the grave. So in a last ditch effort, pulls out his Medallion and tries to use Yamamoto's stolen Bankai to incinerate Ichigo as he dies. And when he activates it, to Yhwach's surprise, explodes and burst into flames, finishing him off for good. This would show two things: 1. Yhwach may have been strong enough to steal Zanka No Tachi, but he wasn't powerful to contain/use it. Not even Yhwach could use the power of Yamamoto. No one can. 2. To symbolize Yamamoto truly killing off Yhwach like he intended to do or allow from 1,000 years ago. This whole war was about Yama and Yhwach, so even in death, Yamamoto would finish this conflict.

Only way to know that would've been if something had been specifically said to indicate as much when Old Man Yamamoto killed the guy who stole Choujiro's Bankai. Because if Choujiro's soul was reunited with his Bankai once the Sternritter who stole it was killed, then it's definitely possible that Old Man Yama got his back upon Yhwach's demise. Either way, though, he was stupidiotically busted even with just his sealed zanpakutou, and even without using it at all. I don't think that he'd be THAT much weaker in hell. (As a side note: Old Man Yamamoto and Urahara definitely had the most badass means of concealing their swords, both having them hidden in their canes.)

They did him dirty, because they knew he is going to die put him in a fight only to show us how strong and how powerful his banki for those who don't read manga and even so it still blow our minds. He release so much power all of soul society felt it, did more damage to his surrounding than to yhwach. Only to use his final move that turn everything to ash with one swing still never turn yhwach to ash it just cut him in half and cut off a few limbs only again to find out that the person he was fighting as a copy ability. Man so powerful in almost all of bleach when a strong villain comes along they have to seal him or just make something up just to take in out of the arc or movie. What would really blow my mind is at the end of the blood war arc all of that flame is actually a Phoenix that can resurrect him only once after death.

While ywach and most fans seem to think yamas biggest mistake was his world view change. I'd argue his biggest issue was that his world view didn't change enough. After the wonderweiss situation and needing to rely on ichigo to finish aizen. It should've been apparent to the leader that maybe he should reevaluate all threats that have happened. He always expected to be the strongest, while 1 on 1 he was, both villains came out with counters.

About 1,000 years ago from the main timeline,in the first episode of the bloowar it is said “The confined Quincy King regains his pulse after 900 years, his mind after 90 years, his strength after nine years, and the world in nine days. “This is the last nine days of the world.” so yes the headd captain did kill him 2000 years ago he was revived by haxx ishin ichigo's dad even stated this in episode 12 or 13

Yamamoto definitely earned a place in Valhalla that fight was epic. the way they showed the the concentrated flame(east) was the most terrifying to me, its like that object that is so hot you don't realize its burning you until you already have 3rd degree burns.

At the very least, I hope in the anime they change one thing in honor of Yamamoto.
Near the end of the series, when Ichigo cuts Yhwach in half from chapter 684, just before he dies, he decides to take Ichigo with him to the grave. So in a last ditch effort, pulls out his Medallion and tries to use Yamamoto's stolen Bankai to incinerate Ichigo as he dies. And when he activates it, to Yhwach's surprise, explodes and burst into flames, finishing him off for good.
This would show two things:
1. Yhwach may have been strong enough to steal Zanka No Tachi, but he wasn't powerful to contain/use it. Not even Yhwach could use the power of Yamamoto. No one can.
2. To symbolize Yamamoto truly killing off Yhwach like he intended to do or allow from 1,000 years ago. This whole war was about Yama and Yhwach, so even in death, Yamamoto would finish this conflict.
A small point they got wrong. Yamamoto wanted chojiro to achieve bankai. chojiro swore to master his bankai to better serve his master, and he did.
The original gotei ain't dead. At least 4 of them are imprisoned.

Only way to know that would've been if something had been specifically said to indicate as much when Old Man Yamamoto killed the guy who stole Choujiro's Bankai. Because if Choujiro's soul was reunited with his Bankai once the Sternritter who stole it was killed, then it's definitely possible that Old Man Yama got his back upon Yhwach's demise.
Either way, though, he was stupidiotically busted even with just his sealed zanpakutou, and even without using it at all. I don't think that he'd be THAT much weaker in hell. (As a side note: Old Man Yamamoto and Urahara definitely had the most badass means of concealing their swords, both having them hidden in their canes.)

They did him dirty, because they knew he is going to die put him in a fight only to show us how strong and how powerful his banki for those who don't read manga and even so it still blow our minds. He release so much power all of soul society felt it, did more damage to his surrounding than to yhwach. Only to use his final move that turn everything to ash with one swing still never turn yhwach to ash it just cut him in half and cut off a few limbs only again to find out that the person he was fighting as a copy ability. Man so powerful in almost all of bleach when a strong villain comes along they have to seal him or just make something up just to take in out of the arc or movie. What would really blow my mind is at the end of the blood war arc all of that flame is actually a Phoenix that can resurrect him only once after death.
