Your Heavy Metal/Extreme Metal reviews are really fantastic. Incredibly descriptive and accessible, great job.

Storming, Grom, Satanica, and The Satanist are my go to albums. I'd add Demigod to that list, but the vocal layering absolutely kills my enjoyment, with the exception being Slaves Shall Serve where the layering adds to the chaos.

The Satanist is very good, but I prefer quite a few albums more, especially Evangelion, Demigod and The Apostasy. They have an incredible discography.

Nice video, you get an extra 'like' for not giving up and re-doing the missing parts. My personal fav is Satanica, but I like their later works as well

I'm pretty sure apostasy is pronounced "a-paw-sta-see" or as I like to think of it, "a pasta, see?!"

Allright I will do the same
Sventevith 2/5 - average 2nd wave of black metal record
Grom 3.2/5 - love those folk elements, better mix and this one can be one of their best tbh
Pandemonic Incantations 2.5/5 - more death metal but still not there
Satanica 3/5 this is where Behemoth we all love started, damn great record
Thelema 6 3/5 more technical, there are some of their classics, but I dont come back to this very often
Zos Kia Cultus 4/5 - their first amazing record, love almost every song
Demigod 4.9/5 - classic at this point, brutal, heavy as balls. This is one of Nile clones that actually sounds as good as them. Every song is a banger
Apostasy 4/5 - still brutal and heavy as Demigod but less memorable, but still pretty damn great
Evangelion 5/5 - my favourite of them, on this one their started to implement more atmospheric moments but without sacrificing heaviness. On Daimonos there's their best solo, Shemhamforash has Demigod brutality, Alas, lord is upon me and Lucifer are those songs with more atmosphere. Amazing.
The Satanist 5/5 - Everything I said about Evangelion but with more evil atmosphere, amazing songwriting
I Loved you at your darkest 2/5 - its.. fine. I dont hate this one cuz its in The Satanist style because I dont think that band must change their style every single record (same thing with new one) but only couple songs are memorable and I didnt came back to this one at all, except god = dog and wolves of siberia
Opvs Contra Natvram 4/5 - I think is better sequel to Satanist than ILYAYD, I enjoyed every song, even first two singles I didnt enjoy when they came out in context of whole record are great, Neo Spartacus and Disinheritance are amazing. Sad to see that people don't like this one but yeah I like it

    • @SatanBled
      @SatanBled 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This but only difference is I give the new one a 3 maybe 3.5 since I listened to it more now and 5/5 for Demigod.

    Of what I’ve listened to:
Sven: 2/5 (I don’t care for classic bm in general, but it’s ok)
    Demigod: 3/5
The Amississippi: 4/5 (Album is incredible, it’s just better later)
Evangelion: 5/5 (not just my favorite Behemoth album, one of my personal favorites period)
The Satanist: 4.5/5 (I agree on this being incredible, yet for some reason I get bored in the middle, I don’t understand why lol)
ILYAYD: 3/5 (It’s alright, the only song to stick with me was Barzabel)
In case you are at all curious, pretty sure it’s pronounced “EhPAHStisee”

Bone marrow transplant is not painful if you are talking physically, i mean sickness from chemo aside (and for me that was really mild). I've had 2 in my life one when I was a kid and the second one 3 years ago. Interestingly when I was a kid the procedure was done from my back under anesthesia but nowadays the technology has evolved where they dont need to put you under anymore

    S: Zos Kia Cultus, Demigod
A: Pandemonic Incantations, Thelema 6, Evangelion
    B: Grom, Satanica, The Satanist
    C: Sventevith, The Apostasy
    D: Opvs contra Natvram
F: I loved you at your Darkest

I love "Sventevith" I think it's phenomenal. I also really enjoy Raw Black Metal and the demo work of the stalwarts of the Black Metal genre. I can see how it would be off-putting to someone who leans more to the polished side of production. I love its raw atmosphere, energy and viciousness.

Nice video, I really like this band. Even when they're bad or cringe, there's still something I like about each album. I really wish I could explain the pronunciation of apostasy in text, but here we are. A-pasta-see?

Behemoth definitely had the atmosphere but I always seemed to prefer Vader for it’s more straightforward to the point approach and probably vocally as well. When behemoth takes a similar approach I often find I enjoy those songs best. Listening to Off to war! And triumph of death back to back is a good time haha

LOL Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) is my favorite album.Songs like "Transylvanian Forest,Hidden in a Fog,Wolves Guard My Coffin"just classic black metal songs. The cold and the atmosphere is there and that's what makes black metal beautiful.I don't want progress in music, I don't want professionalism, just give me the old school way of sound and riffs and I'm a happy guy :D

Conquer All is the song that introduced me to Behemoth. I believe through the Rock Band game actually. I'll never forget it. Found some super shitty quality music video on TH-cam, it's still up by the way, but the visuals were unlike any I had seen before. Junior high aged kid discovering bands like Dimmu and Behemoth through their music videos. What good times man.

As I already wrote in another comment, I do like your rankings bc they're genuinely refreshing. Some other reviewers take the opinion of the crowds in consideration before doing their ranking and they often sound alike and uninspired. I'd rank some albums higher, some lower but it's matter of taste and mood. Grom is my least favorite (though still interesting and enjoyable) and Evangelion is my number 1.

  • @KatarnCrusader
    @KatarnCrusader 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Pan Satyros is written in Greek lettering
    Also - great video
Future suggestions for discography reviews: Voivod, Van Halen... and maybe Kiss :D that one would be fun (since rock is dead and stuff...)

well, Behemoth lost me with The Satanist 😅 i found that album pretty overrated imo. Their Thelema-Demigod era was my fav along with Evangelion, Thelema is probably my fav album by them.

2014 had either one of these two albums on metal reviewers list as their number one of the year
    Behemoth The Satanist
    Ne Obliviscaris Citadel
Which one of those two albums do you like more? I prefer The Satanist. The Satanist is one of my favorite albums of the 2010s but Citadel is good also. Great video.

Black Metal as a whole has never been a genre I have been a fan of (Some bands for quite obvious reasons: Fuck Burzum). But for every ugly duckling there is always a couple golden chicks, Behemoth being one of them.
Like… Fucking Hell (No Pun Intended) when I heard “The Satanist” I instantly knew that Behemoth was a BIG standout black metal band worth following.

Number 2 swearing left and right makes you look like a tryhard alternative bad boy and is cringe 😂
Other than that you are fantastic love the energy love the vibes
