Those poor kids. Not just losing them. But seeing it happen. They even had red flags up.
Losing.
Losing or loosing same thing language is symbolic the meaning of the sentence is obvious.
No it isn't. Losing is to lose. Loosing is an old way to untangle something.

It’s damn sad. I wish more tourists were aware of exactly how dangerous rip currents are. Educate yourselves folks and pay attention to and heed the warnings of the flags and signs. They’re there for your safety
Sadly they are not educating themselves or paying attention . especially during Hurricane season
Isn’t it common sense ? It should be. Everyone knows the ocean is dangerous.
Hurricane season is the worst time to go swimming in beach water. RED FLAG DON'T GO INTO THE WATER!!! SO HEARTBREAKING 💔
Rip currents can happy any time of year. I doubt you actually live anywhere hurricanes happen.
Unless you like to surf, then it could be the best time of the year. The general rule should be, if you're not a strong swimmer who understands how to swim in the ocean, don't get in the ocean.
Hurricane season doesn't mean constant red flags. I've been to the east coast a few times during hurricane season and it was safe to swim.

I’m of the old generation and it’s very sad and I feel so bad for those children but at the same time, as a responsible adult over 50 and as a parent, there is NO way that I would ever attempt something so dangerous and I feel the need to say it’s not something anyone should ever do. What were they thinking?? Jesus, red flags as well..those poor kids..
That man is from Downingtown in Chester County PA...he should know all about rip currents as we are close to the NEW JERSEY, DELAWARE AND MARYLAND shores and are told time and time again how to deal with the rip currents. He has to have been to the shore at some if not many times as I have..it's a two hour drive. It's truly unbelievable.

@@christinepizzi6197 Absolutely what I was thinking. Spot on.
Megalomaniacal narcissists never listen to anything outside of their own minds. Never.
Going to the beach is dangerous. You should take basic lessons about Rip Tides with an instructor. Never fight the rip tide. Swim parallel to the shore in either direction. It won't be long before you are out of the Rip Tide itself. Then get out of the water. Watch the lifeguards station and it would be good if you had someone on shore watching you to alert the lifeguard if you get in trouble.
Dark stripe in the water...?
No one says anything about the woman caught in the rip current that carried her into the gulf stream from. Miami to North Carolina..after a week in the ocean the US Coast guard found her 26 miles from the beaches of north Carolina, alive and weak, but still alive...

How did she survive that long in the water? Did she have a life jacket on?
ive been in one of these i definitely could have died thankfully my dad was a florida native told me how to swim away and slowly work back but they can be unpredictably strong
Absolutely terrifying, like caught in a spiders web, you're stuck.
I could understand the panic of going out further and maybe not sure ppl know ur out there and panic sits in.
If there's Signs to Not Swim might be best to heed the warning.
Awful for there Kid's,very sad.
I swam in many places but never experienced the rip currents like I did when I swam in Daytona. I went out there when nobody else would because I was in great shape and figured I could handle it. I had a couple little grabs, and then one full-blown rip current that grabbed me good. I instinctively swam against it with all my might, at first, then realized, "oh, this is what they talked about when saying swim parallel, lol." I never had one bad enough that I couldn't outswim it or just go straight up to get out of it, before. I was nearly out of energy from the struggle, so I just held my breath and let it take me for a little ride. I ended up pretty far off the shore, but it was a relatively easy swim back, after it let me go. I even went back out there drunk at night to try it again. It was much easier when I knew what to expect, although I drank a little too much alcohol and/or salt water with those waves beating me around in the shallows. I had to give some back.
I'm not sure how it could be made clearer not to go inthewater. Rip currents are no joke and it's sad that this family is now in this position
Rip currents are fun when you know how to handle them. Like a roller coaster under water.

The warnings are there for that exact reason.
It's my understanding they walked right into the RIP current. They were vacationing and I truly believe they weren't aware of the flags. Have some compassion 😢
@@barbarajohnson8968 I'm incapable of compassion for stupidity.
As a Floridian I can tell you all public beaches post warnings about the riptide. Sadly, this is what happens when you ignore the posted warnings
Why do people swim with red flags posted. Such a tragedy and devastating loss for their family
They were on vacation and either didn't learn. Or felt they immune from the warning
Did these people, from Pennsylvania, KNOW what the red flags meant?? Were there regular banners on the TV saying that swimming was forbidden because of riptide? The older son tried to help them and they were unable to follow his orders.
This is sad on so many levels but at least one of the siblings has a good head on his shoulders and should be able to(with the support of the grandparents) help his siblings through this tragedy.
Great big signs all over Florida beaches explaining what the flags mean

RED FLAG - danger do not swim
So the father said his son was "smart" but if I heard right the beach was displaying red flag conditions and he ignored that to proceed with his kids and gf into the water anyways??? No worries, soon will be a story about vacationer's getting attacked by alligators in bodies of water in Florida soon. True, cause many bodies of water here in Florida, especially our rivers are infested with alligators but I always see people swimming in them. I tell them they shouldn't be out swimming in there and they always ask me why not? When I tell them alligators are in there, they always say really! 😂

I'm from NJ too now living in Florida. I miss home every single day. Do you too?
The grandparents not only have lost a son and daughter, but now may have to deal with raising those poor kids. Life just changed tragically for all involved.
Only their son’s two boys, and that’s only if their mother isn’t alive. More than likely their dad was divorced from their mother. This couple wasn’t married to each other but were planning to in the future. Hopefully her four kids have a father that’s alive and involved in their lives or her parents or their dad’s parents will end up with them.
Well that makes it a bit better. At least each kid still has one parent left. I assumed that they lost both parents at once @TheBOG3
They said blended family so hopefully all the children have another parent.
@@MANAL83 Yeah, in the very beginning of this when the mentioned a family with six kids, I thought it was a married couple with six kids and thought, “Who has six kids together nowadays when most people think three kids is a lot?” Then I thought, “Well, maybe they’re Mormons or something?”

Probably unaware vacationers.
What were they doing swimming where the signs say "danger do not swim"? Senseless. Thank goodness the two teens were able to make it to shore.

@@jennifera4350 hi Jennifer, okay but I recently went on vacation and I wasn't looking at signs. It was an oversight and maybe they made assumptions about things they shouldn't have. I went to 2 outer banks beaches and myrtle beach recently and I don't recall seeing signs or flags. I wasn't looking for any because I had zero plans to go in the ocean but at the same time I didn't see any so that's my fault? I think life vests should be mandatory for everyone going in the ocean. I obviously know the risks and don't need a signage or flags. Surely they would not have disobeyed the flag and intentionally put themselves in harm's way or put themselves at risk of drowning. Rip currents can push you down, and if you panic, you can drown. When I was 10, I would go to the beach alone and almost drowned in a rip tide. I calmed and stayed parallel. That was at Redondo Beach. I got on my bike and went home. The ocean is vast and powerful; do not underestimate her force.
