That's a good point on ensuring your future players have a good idea of what they are buying. You almost have to put yourself in the shoes of a stranger who has zero idea what your game is about. It can be challenging for Indie Game Devs we work nonstop on a game so it can be difficult to assume the role of someone (and make a trailer/media) who knows nothing about the game.
Thanks for the content it got me through chemotherapy and now im making my own game
Thanks for this clip, your videos are really helpful
This helped a lot Thomas...Hope to see more of this chats with publishers

This is one of the biggest issue for me: Thinking or even calculating a needed budget for a first "real" game. Planned to work my free time on the project until I got a contract by a publisher so that I can quit my day job to completely focus on my own project. Is this a valid strategy? Let's say the pitch is amazing, the idea hits like a rocket and stuff like that - yet I'm a sole developer with not much experience and want to look for a publisher guiding my by hand around pr, marketing, budgeting... am I supposed to expect being screwed over? Or are publishers "good guys"..? Thanks in advance Thomas!
Love your content!
Hi, could you make a video about the game dev cash flow? How much money are you investing during the first months, how much more you have to spend in marketing, and when. And finally, when income will start to flow in. How much time will it take for the game dev journey to fund itself?
Can you please make a video on game awards, not the game awards but, basically, what are other awards that a game can win. Thank-you Thomas 😊
Interesting, I didn't see that ending coming haha. Thomas, would you say that this information applies similarly to if you were going to launch a Kickstarter campaign?
It's pretty different. You're going to need a compelling trailer for a KS campaign. There's a lot of work to do on the campaign page, and you have to convince a lot of people to put money down for your game as opposed to a single publisher. Also with a publisher e-mail... it's assumed you'll be having back and forth and sharing more information, having conversations, etc... With Kickstarter it's just a person viewing what you have to offer and deciding at that moment whether to back the campaign or not.
You can't just have a little text blurb and some images of your game and expect to get backers. But you can definitely have just a text blurb and some images to open a dialogue with a publisher.
I actually think they are quite similar. There's no better pitch to a publisher than a successful campaign :)
What a great video bro Love it
you just open my mind about publisher thanks
Love this!
Chicken Pants Escapes Spooky Town with Rocket powered Dragon Pants for the win...maybe
Wow this is so interesting I can't wait to get started on my game development journey your my main inspiration Mr Thomas I do have a question if I were to pitch my game idea to you would you be my publisher or if I give you a game idea?
Yay new vid
Have a jock saying the title in a demeaning tone to a nerdy kid and you have movie scene.

Let me save your time talking useless shit. Value is subjective and only based on what someone would pay for it. So if I don't like it $1 if I do like it $100. Simples learn economics.
