How To Float Serve A Volleyball For Beginners!

- Hey ya'll it's time for us to learn the float serve! This is one of my all-time favorites serves because It is both tricky to read and very fun to perform. When working on the float serve it is important to remember that you must be first proficient with the overhand standing serve before you move on to something as advanced as the float serve. I want you to be comfortable and consistent enough with your standard serve before you possibly complicate things with the float. Also, this is because the float serve is very similar to that of the overhand serve. Make sure that you watch the whole video and share it with someone who needs it. I do float serves on accident sometimes 😭 so I'm trying to get my float to perfection before my tryouts at the end of the month. I'll let you guys know how it goes
Edit: so tryouts end today and I decided not to go :( due to covid and school work on zoom I don't have enough time to get things done or focus on myself/family, and I'd rather get settled with school
On the brightside 😳 I'll be doing softball in the spring, and by next fall I'll be sure to make Varsity

Am I the only one that loves the feeling they get while in a game? Like I am so focused that I can feel my heart beat through my body. Following the ball making sure it doesn't hit the ground and make it go to the other side?

Been trying to learn jump float so I can switch between jump top serves and jump float serves in games but I can't seem to get it perfectly right haha. sometimes I end up accidentally putting a spin in it which sucks. but when I get it right and mess up the opponents recieve, it feels amazing.

It’s so cool how you can aim your serves so well! Also, if I remember correctly, one of the easiest ways to receive a float serve is to do an overhand receive. Do you think you could do a video on overhand receives if you already haven’t?

Hi coach Koko I just wanted to thank you because even though this year we didn't have any tryouts or a team, I trained hard, followed most of your videos, and repeated then over and over again, and I feel proud of my improvement. But still there are many people who tell me that I am too short to be in the position of the setter and that I can't make that up, so I was wondering if you can maybe do some more videos to help set more precisely and maybe do a setter dump. It would also be awesome if you could do a video on jump serving and maybe spike timing. I am very sorry that I am asking you a lot its just I love how you explain these things in a short amount of time and make it fun. Again thanks so much and I hope you have a great day!

Hi coach Koko! My float serves aren’t making it to the net but I feel like I’m doing everything right, what do I do? My coach always tells me to swing faster and strengthen my hand but when I do, everything still feels the same. I’m unable to serve from the 30 foot line because my serves always end up short. I really want to be able to have a powerful serve, do you have any suggestions? Thank you!
Mine do the same thing, my coach told me to work on my power by doing more serving drill. another girl on my team with the same issue bought a serving trainer to continually improve her serves (it did work and she makes it over the net most of the time now) I hope this help a bit
Hi, do you know where I can buy a volleyball net that is around the 50-100 dollar mark and it the usual height for a volleyball net(7feet11)) because anywhere I go that is under 150 dollars is around 5 feet or something thanks love ur videos
I would check out all volleyball for a net! They do have some cute ones! Make sure to check the heights.

Hey! I’m been trying to just regular overhand serve in volleyball. For some reason everytime I hit the ball it really hurts my wrist. Can anyone please explain what I doing wrong so I can fix it :)?
Hi coach koko just a quick question what do u think is more effective a jump topspin serve or a jump float serve
It really just depends on what level you're playing. Personally, I believe that a jump float is way more deadly because it's so hard to read.

I miss playing volleyball so bad and because of covid we won’t start school in the classrooms but online and that means that I won’t play volleyball in class and i can only hope that we will play in my club(we could only play if we play outside)

Hitting contact is better to be below “the equator of the hand”. Like basically it will have more top spin and won’t have as much power IF you hit with your fingers. Idk if it answered your questipn

Hey KoKo, you probably won’t see this, but I’m just wondering how tall you are and what age you started playing at. I’m 5’1” and 11 and I really want to learn how to play Volleyball but I kinda already hit puberty (yeah I know I’m early don’t judge me guys) and my estimated height is only 5’4” but the average women volleyball player height is 5’10” so I’m 6 inches short.

Hey coach koko, I made the team but I dont have any skill or talent they just put me on the team because their was like 16 girls that came to tryouts and they needed extra girlys. Still not confident that I will make the ball over the net :/

i started with passing and serving. if you want to be a setter then do the same thing but add setting there occasionally. passing and serving is two the more important parts of volleyball so maybe start with those.
