I've heard from a few other manufacturers that Hornby have asked them about it. Most ruled it out, one kept their options open but said they had no plans to do anything at the moment. I think most manufacturers probably have their own plans or are already working in multiple scales and don't need to add another one to the mix. Never say never though! Thanks for watching 😃

@@ThatModelRailwayGuy I better put my order for a class 44xx in BR black. It's a pity that these days you can't do spur of the moment shopping for locos and spur of the moment shopping however an excellent show
It is a shame but given the amount of detail and features we expect from models these days we're no longer in a situation where manufacturers can churn out simple body shells chassis anymore. Today's models are much more expensive to produce and naturally Rapido (and all manufacturers) need to have a really good idea of how much demand there is in order to know how many to make - otherwise they end up with stock sat on shelves not making themselves or the retailers any money.
This is so awesome! I’ve got the E1 and Y7 on preorder, and I’m tempted to order even more!! My bank 😭🤣 Also, do you know if the E1 and Y7 are largely finalized, as I noticed the bodies are all plastic, and for the price and considering they are small locos I expected them to be largely die-cast, especially seeing as the prairie is.
The Y7 will be going into production very soon so I imagine that's pretty much finalised. The E1 has some known issues which need addressing but that's more to do with the running. Both these models have a die-cast chassis. Don't forget as well that you get more detail with injection moulded plastic so sometimes it makes sense to have more detail on the outside and the metal creating the weight on the inside. Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy thanks for the info! That’s true, but at the same time lots of other manufacturers do use diecast bodies. I’m extremely tempted to pick up one of the Jones goods, do you know if it is too late to get an order in now?
I don't know what I'm allowed to say but I think it's ok to mention that they are still planning on adding smoke to future models. I think they'll have more news later in the year all being well but please don't take that as gospel as we all know things can change. Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy oh man more waiting. I was hoping they would have announced something by now to keep my hopes up. But I sadly have to order from their rival Hornby now.
Yes it would be very interesting to see them do something so radically different. I wonder if they're trying to make a real name for themselves within the steam genre before tackling more modern stuff. Thanks for watching 😃
I wish I could an O1 and an E1, especially Medina but I don't think I will be able to get them because: 1. I don't have enough money to get them because I'm too young for a job. 2. My parents said if I get good grades then I can get them but I don't think I got very good grades in my end of year exams so I won't be able to get them.
Perhaps start saving up for them now, or if not both just one. These models don't have release dates yet so it's unlikely we'll see them arrive before 2025 - by then you might have saved up a decent amount towards one of them. Thanks for watching 👍
I hate the modern pre-order type system, I have been bitten as many times as I have received a quality model, you simply do not know what you will end up with as the final product doesn't exist when you lock yourself in to a pre-order. Also, with Rapido specifically, ordering direct carries quite a premium over what other retailers sell the excess models for at release time. The latest example being the J70 set, I could have ordered a set from Rails of Sheffield for the same price as what Rapido asked for to complete the purchase, however, I'd already paid Rapido a deposit of £45. Quiet a gut punch, even though the finished model/set is excellent.
That’s the nature of the market these days I’m afraid. If we want manufacturers to tackle more niche locomotives in a highly detailed manner, it isn’t economical to make them in larger batches as the manufacturers need to know what the demand is. You can of course take a chance and hope that somewhere has some left over after the initial release but it’s a risk. The other thing to note is that, if you’re ever not happy with a model you can always return it - although I would say that most manufacturers are pretty good at sorting out any issues. Personally I’ve not come across many models that just aren’t fit for purpose. Similarly Rapido are no different from most manufacturers at setting their RRP and letting the retailers have a discount on that. There’s nothing stopping anyone ordering from a retailer instead although some customers do prefer to deal directly with the manufacturer itself. Thanks for watching 😃
@@ThatModelRailwayGuy Yeah, the modern market has allowed us to get some fantastic models that we wouldn't necessarily see as you say. My big gripe though is that I cannot always commit to a model at the time of announcing the pre-order, but the risk of missing out on a model that is required for representing a particular line or prototype has seen me overextend a couple of times, praying that they don't come to market at the same time. The Heljan Ruston 165 has been the biggest regret to date, thankfully I managed to get a refund on that one, but the worry is always there now that I may suffer a repeat
Yay metropolitan e class wish they did the a class sad I cant afford the metropolitan e class model I wish ther were more London transport and London underground model trains in n guage and 00 guage
I think there was perhaps too much variation within the A Class for Rapido to be able to consider them - but never say never, especially if the E Class sells really well. Don't forget that there's also the Heljan Bo-Bo electrics, the Bachmann Class 20s and their Pannier in the London Transport livery too... plus the modern day and vintage Tube Stock. There's actually quite a bit of London Transport/Underground models available when you look into it. Thanks for watching 😃
It sucks that I'm going to have to miss all of the loco runs. Do to money issues right now. Man I wish I can get all of these. But if I could only get two of them it would be. The( Stirling single) And the (Jones goods)in the lime green. And yes I'm a big steam locomotive fan
You may already be aware of this but with the Pre-Orders you don't pay now, only when the model arrives. You could potentially Pre-Order a loco to lock in your specific model and then decide closer to the time whether it's still finically viable... or potentially put a little bit aside every week to have enough by the time it releases. Thanks for watching 🤩
So glad Rapido let you in on the newest locos coming out. I am in America so miss out on those beautiful locos from England. Keep on sharing and will keep on watching. 😃 GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
I'm amazed at how much they shared with me! There's so much more that I'm not allowed to talk about just yet but I suspect all will be revealed soon enough. Thanks for watching 😃
No, not at all. There are plenty out there that don't like sound fitted locos, just as there are many that still prefer DC analog over DCC digital control. That's why manufacturers still make non-sound fitted locos - if they didn't...well that would be more of an issue for those like yourself but I can't see that happening anytime soon. Thanks for watching 😃

Can you give me some links for cheap models of tube stock
You know a tank engine is small when a Y7 towers over it....
Definitely! It's bonkers how small these models are yet still incredibly detailed. Thanks for watching 😃
It sucks that I'm going to have to miss all of the loco runs.
Do to money issues right now.
Man I wish I can get all of these.
But if I could only get two of them it would be.
The( Stirling single)
And the (Jones goods)in the lime green.
And yes I'm a big steam locomotive fan
I know the feeling! There are some great loco s available now, but the prices.
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
I'm amazed at how much they shared with me! There's so much more that I'm not allowed to talk about just yet but I suspect all will be revealed soon enough. Thanks for watching 😃
Is it just me that doesn't like sound fitted locos? It is very clever but it really doesn't appeal to me. Each to their own.
