I wish there was a remaster of civ revolution that fixed all the issues and improved on things like ships getting veterancy and upgrades. Basic quality of life improvements.
Idk I think upgrades for ships and planes would be OP. You can have veteran ships with a barrack and thats already really powerful. All you need to do is get steam power first and rush a veteran cruiser fleet and thats an easy domination dub. Let alone if you get a battleship fleet.
I had some ideas for challenges but some would be confusing on the rules or maybe not as entertaining. But a challenge idea I had was to get a win without using defensive units. So no archers, pikemen, etc. as they say “the best defense is a good offense”
@@tywrex3044 the other ideas were to try and do a no Units lost in a game. They can be wounded but it taken out completely it counts. Also no selling troops, so this means all units are permanent. The 2nd was to only be allowed a small portion of the map such as a 7x7 or 9x9 or something. You cannot leave this area at all. No exploration out of the zone and all cities must use the tiles inside the zone. The size of the challenge would be up to you tho

I wish Civilization Revolution 2 is still like this. The units really do feel like armies unlike CivRev 2. Though I always prefer Civ4 and Civ5 over other Civ games.

I was happy it was big enough to get a couple settlements on. Single city islands make for such rough starts
My fav playthrough ever was a japanese island start ,big enough for 3 good cities and then mainland south conquered

The game was over once you found the ark and got east India .... On an island far away with massive culture and trade boost
Those helped a ton! Also made me not feel so bad about missing out on Hanging Gardens and Colossus.

Is there any benefit to finding and naming forest/plains regions?
Yes! Anything you name give you gold. Rivers, plains, hills, forests, and sea regions can all be found

I never even got to play civ rev 2. Kinda a drag. I’ve heard really good things about Civ 5. I play Civ 6 sometimes, I’m just really bad at it 🤣.
