With the exception of one of my grandparents who died in their 60s from cancer (smoker), the other 3 lived to an average age of 97 (non-smokers). They ate bacon and eggs most mornings and cooked with butter and ate pretty much traditional stuff.
I’ve eaten eggs and butter all my life and relieved to learn this. Now I eat the grass fed and grass finish foods. Slowly gaining positive ground on healing my inflamed leaky gut. The intermittent and prolonged fasting really help the most! Thanks
I stay in an urban village where there is little grass and most of the year it is dry. Cows seen on the road are often seen to be eating garbage. I feel sorry for them although it could be worse on a factory farm. I'm not tempted to eat the meat here. When I listen to the advice to eat beef from grass fed cows I visualize those pristine villages in the Swiss Alps. It seems very idealistic . I guess the point is that we are all adjusting to a very imperfect situation and so are the animals. I enjoy the advice from Dr. Berg but also believe in encouraging people to do the best they can with what is available.
@@janetjames1562 grass fed in my country is not practical. It leaves the cattle skinny, stringy, lean and just unappetizing. The farmer cannot make any profit at all from ratty skinny beasts. I'm sure thats in most countries but food snobs seem to think it's the moral high ground.
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THE TRUTH. I have been fighting with my family members for over a decade about butter and eggs issues. I just knew it... because it makes me feel good.
Thank you, Dr. Berg! 👍 This is true...since I've been on Keto and started eating organic eggs and organic ghee butter daily, my cholesterol levels have been normal for the first time ever 🍳🧈
This works, for 30 years I listened to the whole grains, mostly veges, no yolks, no red meat fat, no pork. My labs stunk, and all the time I exercised a lot. Plus sti) took lots of stations and BP meds. Nephrologist advised me to forget it all. Stopped all simple sugars and starches and wheat. Started whole eggs again, bacon, butter, sausage, chuck roast, etc. For carbs....colored veges. 60 % protein 20% meat fat & butter, 10% carbs. At 63, have best labs since early 20's.
@@billdublewhopper3064 sure, let me explain how my body works for what about to say may not work for everyone. I've been tracking this for about 40 years. From age 23 until early 2022, I did what the common recommendations were: do all the aerobic 70% heart rate thing, don't eat ted meat, eat lots of grains, eat lots of vege's, but stay away from red meat & fatty dairy, & use margarine. My total cholesterol remained under 80 but...my tri's were above 200, HDL was about 24, and my LDL was around 78 to 82. BUT my cardiac risk was 6.5 up to 7.8. All that time....wasted. Now my risk factor is 3.5. Tri's are about 65 or so. HDL went up to 50. LDL went up to 104. So....only watching total cholesterol and LDL will cause lots of Dr:s to put you on high statins. So I am doing my best to stay away from refined sugar, eating fresh, colored vege's in smaller portions, use only real butter on everything, eat chuck roast, top sirloin, 70/30 grd beef patties that I make, and make my own bread with non gluten, no wheat flour. I'm cardio healthier now at 63 than when I was 20. Hope this helps. Oh...no more vege based oils in cooking or baking.
@@billdublewhopper3064 based on total cholesterol/HDL ratio That's how they do it here anyway. I'll be requesting more indepth labs that deal with calcium and density. All males in family on fathers side all passed from they used to call silent heart attacks at age 68, 68, 46. My 53 yr old brother just had one. So there is genetic familiarity for our male side. Body tri levels and HDL I know are critical for us. Dad & his dad were both 68. They farmed all their lives & also worked full-time, physical labor jobs. So, by the medical worlds standards, when you looked at their labs back then......they were the poster guys of health! So, I'm looking at it now 180 degrees different....other than working your body....it has to move, lift, push, walk, twist, etc. Sorry so long winded.
That’s wonderful for you! I have a nephrologist (post transplant) and they are the opposite regarding high cholesterol and keto. More specialized doctors would do well to study this nutritional way and results for the sake of better health and longevity for organ transplantation and other major areas of health….Dr. Jason Fung is one…future is hopeful!

Doc you first introduced me to Apple Cider Vinegar a few years ago and that helped me to lower my cholesterol naturally and got me off whatever meds I was being poisoned with at the time. ACV also helped me on my journey of weight loss! I buy a lot of farm eggs these days and thankfully in my parts of NC there is no egg shortage. Kerrygold butter is also a main in my diet and rocks my taste buds tremendously! Thank you doc.
yes! 👏🏻🙌🏻 I do 2T of Organic ACV with the Mother in 1C water 2× daily & I'm slim despite practically living off Free Range eggs drenched in grassfed butter 🤤😋
I'm a firm believer!! Back in 1999 I did the Atkins after having my daughter. I did it for 20yrs. Ate a lot of eggs & butter & doctors were shocked at how great my cholesterol levels were. My total cholesterol without fasting was 137. My triglycerides, hdl, & ldl were amazing.
I eat 6 fried eggs and pistachios for breakfast or lunch whenever I interment fasting everyday for the last few months. I’ve lost around 180 or more pounds since this time last year. My highest weight was probably around 430-450 range and I now weigh 262.
Vasant sande You are extremely lucky then! In my 50's and have lots going on 😔 I'm slim but mine started from a horrible wreck I was in at 18 with my Ex-husband. I always exercised 7 days a week twice a day and still have chronic pain. I'm taking vitamins Dr. Berg recommends (one's I can afford) so I am happy for anyone who has great health and I'm very happy at 76 you have No health problems that's wonderful 👏🙏.
@@pamelatimbush3762 Get to the root my dear. I was very heathy too...but a lot goes into it. Epigenetis, wifi, toxicities, the water, the air, make up, hair products, people are toxic too. Chronic pain means you have toxin build up, and lack of oxygen has a result. I enjoy and implement a lot of what I learn from Dr Berg, buuuuut sometimes there is more to it. I was working "frontline" in this plandemic, nurse for 20+ years. Never got even the flu. Diagnosed with Diabetes right after a tonsillectomy. Trauma induced gene trigger I'm thinking. Also, post Tdap shot. Still, very healthy, never sick. Get severe covaids in march 2020, but my workplace was very wet/moldy. So, check your blood, urine, stool, etc for molds, metals, etc. Do IV ozone, IV chelation IF you see a functional medicine doctor to guide you. You can and will feel better. You may have lyme co-infections that aren't showing up on traditional labs, etc.
Before I left the laundromat, the staff and her friends for no reason told me not to eat egg yolk. Some people think it's bad. I didn't discuss any health concerns with her prior. 👽
I’m 62 years old. I lost 150lbs on Healthy Keto, thanks to Dr. Berg. I went from 321lbs to 170lbs in 2 years. I’ve been maintaining for another 2 years. My waist went from 60” to 35”. My lipid profile is: Total Cholesterol = 169, Triglycerides = 42, HDL = 64, VLDL = 9, LDL = 96 I eat eggs almost everyday.
I did keto for ~8 wks and did before/after cholesterol labs. I fried all my food in quality grass fed butter. I was eating eggs, bacon for brkfast and grass fed beef patties for dinner. Before: HDL: 53 LDL: 98 Total cholesterol: 164 After: HDL: 56 LDL: 54 !!!! :) Total cholesterol: 142 My good cholesterol was higher than my bad cholesterol! 👍 👍
I have been eating eggs and grass-fed butter since I was kid, and my LDL cholesterol level remains very low to this day (I'm 56). My doctor found out what I ate and implored me to stop eating them because they were "unhealthy". Perhaps "unhealthy" for his bank account (they hoped that we would become dependent on them for prescriptions and frequent tests). So, I switched to the doctor who specialises in the functional medicine.
These doctors get incentives to hand out that poison. They don’t even do a thorough screening if they see a higher level than the chart says they will put you in the meds. It’s almost as dumb as eating a vegan diet!
My grandparents bought 10 acres of farmland in Oregon at age 60- their plan was to stay fit by working hard on their property. They enjoyed farm food!! Dairy!!! Eggs!!! Bacon!!! Beef!!!! They didn’t touch pills!! They were pharmaceutical free!!! Research data indicates we live longer if we don’t take pills. My grandparents lived on the farm until age 92 & 80. He died from falling off his tractor and broke his hip. He was happy until he went to be with Jesus 😇
This video is for me. I am living in France and this is what happens to me. I had a check up last month with my doctor and I have done a blood test because of anemia. The test came up and my ldl cholesterol was too high. My doctor worried and gave me that crap called statins. I asked why my cholesterol was high and I told him that every morning I had 4 pasture raised eggs with mushrooms, cooked with quality butter. He was shocked and scared because I hated too much pasture raised eggs. I'm a cook and I know the best food in France with quality even is expensive. I was a little bit upset because I don't want to take this medication. So thank you doctor berg for explaining me that the eggs and butter didn't elevate ldl cholesterol. Also I ate two meals a day and do intermittent fasting and reduce the stress a lot of possible. God bless you for sharing this with us Mr berg 🙏🙏👍👍🥰🥰
I remember my grandmother churning butter with her wooden churn. She would take the butter off and save the leftover milk (buttermilk) for both drinking and cooking. She never put her butter in the fridge, and I could not eat it because the taste was so strong. But I'll bet that was healthy stuff indeed.
This is so true. I used to follow a fairly standard American diet and over time I began to develop elevated LDL, low HDL, cholesterol ratios high enough to prompt warnings from my physician, and elevated triglycerides. Several years ago I switched to a keto(ish) diet with 16/8-18/6 intermittent fasting, 4+ eggs *every* day, grass-fed butter, avocados, nuts, quality meats, and all the other high-fat foods I thought I was supposed to avoid. And guess what? I built a lot more lean muscle, reduced my body fat down to 10-15%, cured the problematic eczema that had plagued me for years, and got my lipid numbers back to normal, healthy levels.
This is completely true. I was running a 160 total cholesterol with all the numbers in range. Then I stopped eating my 3-4 eggs every day and my cholesterol shot up to 210. My doctor asked what I did and I told her. She said start eating eggs again which I did. After a few months I was back down to 170. I’ve noticed carbohydrates spike my cholesterol.
So true. I have high cholesterol all my life from 17 to 51 I started carnivore diet lost 72 lbs and cholesterol went down to 189 from 378 lol I eat 6 to 12 eggs every day
My dad lived to 98 yrs old. He ate a fry most days. He used butter daily as did my mum 92. Mum cooked a good wholesome dinner everyday and she cooked with garlic.
I eat organic eggs with grass fed butter and my cholesterol is good just have a cardiologist check up and everything is good, I’m 60 years old very active and no problems so far . I had learned so much from you Dr Berg . Thank you .
My LDL was 250 something. My HDL was 80. My triglycerides were 97. I'm gonna keep doing what I'm doing. I eat a lot of eggs and a lot of butter and I'm certain this is an improvement over what it was given I've also lost a good 40lbs.
Thank you dr. Berg for what you doing for us. My blood profile has improved after intermittent fasting . From pre diabetic to normal. From high triglycerides to normal and from fatty liver to normal healthy liver. All this happened because of you. I can’t thank you enough. You are the only person who is out there for us to help. No other doctor is providing this knowledge to us because they have no idea. May God bless you. Thank you. 😊
I've been eating 18 pasture raised eggs fried in raw butter for over a month now & before I had about 5 eggs a day. Energy & strength levels have noticeably increased. I have no clue what my cholesterol level is, but none the less I feel great so far.
Excellent! I've done eggs only Diet for weight loss many times over the years. They have an excellent amount of fat ,protein and other nutrient. I typically boil or poach them to keep the calories down. Nothing wrong with cooking them in butter though.
@KETO_DIET Awesome. It's amazing how these little things pack so much nutrition. I also eat a piece of steak or chicken mid-day at lunch, but I've noticed I'm still leaning out. Eggs are definitely something no one should be afraid of.
You are almost Carnivore Doc. I started with and still follow you daily. I have lost 37 lbs. My goal is 45. Almost there. I have given up vegetables almost completely. No bread, pasta, rice, grains, beans, many nuts and very few vegetables and I feel great and my doctor is asking what I have done. My answer is "Doc Berg".
I never liked vegetables unless they're raw. I put garlic, arugula, broccoli, red onion, carrots and 10 other things in my salad. A diversified microbiome
I ran a genetics report on my 23 and me data and I have several segments that indicated I had reduced choline conversion. I feel so much better when I’m on that! Perhaps that is why my LDL is higher than normal! This is the real medicine. Thanks Dr. Berg.
I usually eat home-made butter from farmers and 🥚 eggs from village 🐔 chickens at breakfast with a bit of Honey 🍯 and 🫒 green olives . My grandma was having breakfast in that way and she has passed away when she was 99 years old.
I started eating sunny side eggs on & off for the last couple of months! I don’t always make it happen each day but I feel the difference with appetite and overall energy throughout the day! I also make better choices of what I eat later on in the day and get to bed at a reasonable time! Rinse & Repeat 👍
Very clear that comment you made at the beginning regarding people with family history of Hypercholesterolemia . Myself included in those. I started eating three eggs almost everyday and my cholesterol levels went up the so bad that I eliminated egg yolks from my diet radically..
Started keto roughly 2 years ago. Ate beef, lamb, etc. Cholesterol shot to 335. After that result I ate only eggs and 3-4 oz salmon or dark chicken with salad and 1/2 avocado. 1 year later I'm at 275. My ratio is good. They still want me to start a statin but I'm going to hold off.
Excellent Changes to your Diet! Takes real Determination to do that...! Research says Vitamin K2-MK7 prevents arterial calcification. They say it has even been shown to reverse existing calcification. *Side effects can vary between different Statins, but common side effects are: -headache -dizzines -feeling sick -feeling unusually tired or physically weak -digestive system problems, such as constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, farting -muscle pain -sleep problems -low blood platelet count
Were you eating grass fed pasture raised meat? That could be why your numbers were high. Also maybe there are other reasons it’s high. Don’t listen to vegan boy or your brain will rot away.
Still too high = atherosclerotic heart disease. You need to get your total cholesterol under 200. Optimal cholesterol level is around 160 with ldl level under 100. Good luck!🙌
25% of people have LP(a) - would love you to do a video on this - it increases the small LDL particles, so I think eating dietary cholesterol should help to lower the % of LP(a) cholesterol versus non-LP(a) cholesterol.
I will correct you a little bit...100% of people have Lp(a) cholesterol in their blood...but it is estimated, that about 20% have elevated levels, which put them at risk of dying from heart disease at a earlier age. And so, these people, together with the FH group, also needs to ignore dietary cholesterol advice from Eric Berg! ;-)
100% works, my doctors wanted to put me on statins and then I immediately went low carb went back did blood test and my cholesterol went down substantially.
@helenevion4868, he ask and I explained to him what I did as far as cutting out sugars, breads and carbs and he was amazed and cautioned me from eating to many ribeyes and bacon. But my weight dropped and cholesterol went down. So I am proof that it works.

We have hens and they go where ever they want! The egg yolks are dark orange and so flavorful, (from all the grass, bugs & flowers they eat) the yolks have a high & mounded form... so different from the grade A eggs in the market (even the organic). Ours are like grade A++. The shells are much stronger and come in so many pretty colors like blues, greens, shades of brown etc. When spring came, snow melted, and grass allowed to grow enough for our cows to be on their pastures we always would take milk out of the bulk tank and make grass butter the old fashioned way w a pinch of sea salt & put in mason jars. It never lasted long, nothing better than that! Not to mention the cream, buttermilk we would get from making the butter. I always thought that mother nature and God gave these wonderful gifts to feed us and to keep us healthy... we have always farmed the old timey way (4th generation), "No chemicals" on our lands ever = none in our animals! Thank you for this content it is very much appreciated.

You are certainly correct as far as eggs not increasing cholesterol is concerned, my cholesterol was 291, in the risky category, then became 280, and after much exercise and healthy food options , use of olive oil in salad, reducing seed oil, but continuing eggs consumption plus intense walking of 2 miles ,it has lowered to 211, which is near normal. In case of butter I am started having it again and wait for results, incidentally I am from India, but I do see your videos regularly.
@Blue Velvet Officially, it is blamed in the bird flu. I heard that a law was just passed stating that chicken had to be kept inside. Unofficially, I've heard that it is because the stores won't pay the farmers a fair price for the eggs. Incidentally, I've noticed some propaganda claiming that eggs (and not the clot shots) are the reason for the rise in the sudden, coincidental deaths in the young.

Two months ago I had my LDL in 89 / Trigliceride 119 / HDL 34 (low not good). Yesterday I had a new blood work and my LDL dropped to 72 / HDL went up to 48 / Trigliceride dropped to 98. I've been eating at least 16 eggs a week and brisk walking quite enough. Lowered carbs and been drinking a lot of milk. Also been eating red meat, pork, chicken and fish. Bottom line: the problem was with SUGAR and FRIED JUNK. Eliminate those and things will be fine. Recently I added TURMERIC to almost every single food in my diet. Hello Dr.Berg. I'm a regular viewer of your videos. I usually eat Keto OMAD at 2:00 to 3:00 pm and my glucose avarages 110 for the whole day, it is always between 90 and 120, usually never falls below 90!!! My OMAD meal consists of leafy greens: Broccoli, Spinach, mushrooms, arugula; Lean Meat, Chicken Breast, Chicken Liver and 3 Eggs. My HbA1C is 5.5, so I am not diabetic , but am surprised why my glocose reading usually never falls to 80 even before eating my OMAD lunch. So, I put on the FreeStyle Lebre 2 CGM to see what is happening and decided to see what will happen if I ate Honey, which I never do, I was surprised. If I took 2 tsps of honey at 7:00 pm, my glucose readings, after rising up to 170, falls down rapidly to bellow 60 and sometimes reaches 54! Then returns back to my regular avarage of 110! What is happening?!

I'm approaching 3 years doing this now and I won't go back...because keto is not a diet...it is the correct human way of eating. Just before Christmas 2022, my blood A1C test showed that I was in the normal range and my LDL and HDL cholesterol scores were healthy low and in a real good place. I've been able to hike 4 miles each morning and I get to the gym 4 days per week...at the age of 55. My energy levels hardly ever drop and I never get hungry.
I had normal cholesterol... started following your "advices" - ate 2-3 eggs a day... my cholesterol became too high... quit eggs - cholesterol became normal
unfortunately, my case also. I had 199 for many years, never bothered to lower it. Three months on carnivore, just checked - 238, and my "good" one is as low as it always used to be. ...and now medical workers aka doctors want me to take pills.
Exactly. "They" leave out that the lecitine partly does the work! I found out in my teens when working out regularly, and supplemented then. In pure form it doesn't taste that well. But, as you just mentioned in this video, because it regulates a broad range of hormones as well! Indeed, the fats - derived from e.g. butter - are also needed for brain function, heart function etc, as the brain tissues are partly made from it, wasn't it?! Thank you for bringing into awareness again, I enjoyed learning on the relevant topics, Dr. Berg!! 🙏🏼
Thanks Eric, we need to keep this info coming, many ignorant people (and "experts") are still afraid of saturated fats. Even the American Heart Association (finally) acknowledges they have zero risk factors for cardio events in healthy people.
To all keto followers, have you even just once knelt down and prayed and thanked the cows and pigs and chickens and goats for sacrificing their lives that you may eat?

THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THE TRUTH. I have been fighting with my family members for over a decade about butter and eggs issues. I just knew it... because it makes me feel good.
Thank you, Dr. Berg! 👍
This is true...since I've been on Keto and started eating organic eggs and organic ghee butter daily, my cholesterol levels have been normal for the first time ever 🍳🧈
I’m
This works, for 30 years I listened to the whole grains, mostly veges, no yolks, no red meat fat, no pork. My labs stunk, and all the time I exercised a lot. Plus sti) took lots of stations and BP meds. Nephrologist advised me to forget it all. Stopped all simple sugars and starches and wheat. Started whole eggs again, bacon, butter, sausage, chuck roast, etc. For carbs....colored veges. 60 % protein 20% meat fat & butter, 10% carbs. At 63, have best labs since early 20's.
Why were you seeing a nephrologist? Diabetic? Stone complication? Wonderful though about him/her saying to forget it all! (the prior diet I assume?)
@@billdublewhopper3064 which numbers are you interested in?
@@billdublewhopper3064 based on total cholesterol/HDL ratio
That's how they do it here anyway.

I have been eating eggs and grass-fed butter since I was kid, and my LDL cholesterol level remains very low to this day (I'm 56). My doctor found out what I ate and implored me to stop eating them because they were "unhealthy".
Esoteric Solitare,
I used to do exactly as your grandmother did!
Is it boild or fried egg? Both are ok? Thank you

In the UK, it is getting increasingly difficult to buy eggs.
Why is this happening.
@Blue Velvet Officially, it is blamed in the bird flu. I heard that a law was just passed stating that chicken had to be kept inside. Unofficially, I've heard that it is because the stores won't pay the farmers a fair price for the eggs.

I put a few drops of vitamin k/D3 in my lemon water everyday ❤. Ghee butter is a game changer for me . It puts me in ketosis fast !
@hipiegirl5167 Just found a powerful source of D3 recently. Icelandic cod livers. I was so shocked to find that it in NO WAY tasted nor SMELLED like cod liver oil !! 2 cans per week keep healthy amount of D3 for 6 to seven days in the body...Plus the protein Plus a the whole family of B vitamins. As well Vitamin A content
Butter from FINLAND grass feed, the best
I've been taking lithium for Manic depression for 35 years and after adding 3 - 4 Eggs a Day to my Diet realized that after stoping the medication, omega3 helps regulating depression..
But recently begining to feel numbness in my hands when driving!
I've read that lithium helps regulate blood levels and diabetes!
I'm going to see a doctor to do some tests!
Normally people avoid eggs and butter to keep their cholesterol on lower side but now that old myth is being turned down by the best doctor on the planet...Dr. Berg.
We've got a strong faith in you, dear doctor.
Thank you. Appreciate your comment. Keto on!

Can you cook eggs with oilve oil?
@@prestomattwine weird how you cant refute truth, so you tell him to leave 😪
I tend to repeat myself on this channel, but I'm aware that new people are viewing these videos every day. So...
After 10 months of two keto meals per day, plus intermittent fasting 19:5, I lost 103 pounds of body weight, reversed prediabetes and got rid of a ton of inflammation in my joints.
Sounds like the right diet for me..
🙏
What doc is saying is 100% true🙏
Ive been eating 10-12 eggs per day for 4 months now :D
To all keto followers, have you even just once knelt down and prayed and thanked the cows and pigs and chickens and goats for sacrificing their lives that you may eat?
Organic and grass fed eggs and butter. Butter in coffee
Really great full for all the knowledge you share in the simplest manner possible.
following your advices from several videos, with intermittent fasting and right choice of food I have lost 7 kgs in 38 to 40 days, without any workouts
only by eating at right intervals and eating by knowing, what is going inside my body
I have lost 7kg in 40 days
You are great Dr. ♥️
In my country you'd be lucky to find any eggs or butter in the stores. As for your grass fed, pasture raised, organic moral high ground, shortages are coming. Be grateful for what you can get.
I love thy neighbor and covet thy neighbors eggs. I split his firewood, he keeps me supplied with eggs from his free range chickens. 🙂
Now thats some quality coveting going on lol. Im sure its God approved😉😂
Great neighbourly deal 🤝
My mom lived to 90 eating eggs butter pancakes bagels and tost . Did not care for veggies and not much of a meat person . She loved her carbs and diet coke . Non smoker ,not a drinker but would have one on special occasions . Not a big sweet tooth . My brother had bypass surgery at 43 and dead 10 years later . He was a alcoholic .
I always thought if we eats eggs, butter, then it's best to not mix it with bread etc. But your mom proofed otherwise.

Thanks for the great info on dr. Berg. I love your videos they are always straight to the point.
I eat eggs with tons of butter in the morning. Best thing ever
I slowly cook my vitamin E enriched eggs with some local grass-fed cows butter, it’s completely different from typical commercial butter, the smell is way more potent, just like a tincture smell. I eat 5 eggs a day, 3 early in the morning and 2 before bed
