I just wanted to share that my fingerprint scanner did not work all that great after installing this product. You had to press hard, and then maybe 30% chance it would work. The install was visually flawless. No bubbles or other noticeable imperfections. After stumbling on a article, I tried a long shot and baked my screen with uv light for even longer. I went way more than 60 seconds second step curing, but that fixed my fingerprint issue. Even after installing the screen for week. Now it nearly works as naked screen. May work for you as well, especially if you are not out in the sunlight with your phone regularly.
Good tip. I tried something similar. Basically I held down on sensor for 15 to 20 seconds after 15 sec cure. Then cured and while curing the bottom I held down again for first few seconds while light was on. Fingerprint sensor now works pretty much perfect. Quick and I don't even need to press firmly. It's pretty much like the screen protector isn't even really there. Spen and Edge panel Works flawlessly as well
I saw this trick on a different video a few weeks ago and it works. Got a Samsung S22 Ultra (my first "big phone") and saw that the screen protector tech had gone Star Trek on me for some reason (UV curing, waaaaah?) Got this one and the first one was pretty much an unmitigated disaster. Dust bubble, fingers print would not work etc. The instructions in the box were about as useful as a sheet of used toliet paper. Did usethe 2nd one and was much more careful and watched a few vids. Now it's perfect and the FP scanner is more or less perfect.
If you use increased touch sensitivity, you'll be closer to 100%of the time. And pressing firmly on the area of the finger print scanner for 30-45 seconds continually has worked wonders for me on the S10 Plus, S20 ultra, S21 ultra and S22 ultra.
Nice tip! I've had my S22U for a few days now and I put on the WSD right away before using it. I didn't have any issues with installation, and I didn't do the finger press between curing for the fingerprint scanner. I will say my fingerprint scanner works about 90% of the time, which is good enough for me. There are times where it is a little stubborn. If I get annoyed enough with it, I'll redo the installation but for now it's tolerable. The screen protector looks perfect and works perfect otherwise so I really don't want to mess with it. But this is a great tip in case I reinstall it. Thank you!
Good job! My finger print works preaty nice whitout this steps, spigen neo hybrid didnt work whit this glass, the case is to close for a glass and it scratch the glass edge. Du You know what is with UAG monarch cases? Regards for U
hello once again, Just to inform you, especially the most skeptical ones, that since yesterday, after installing UI5 (Android 13) the fingerprint works much better with the film, I don't want or need another one, high protection and very, very good quality. Congratulations to whoever provided these instructions, just follow them to the letter. Best regards
I reccomend removing the white felt glue pads before applying UV light to cure, so the UV light reaches the edges fully.😉👍 I have no issues whatsoever with the fingerprint scanner, but I always install the WSD before I ever power on my new device for the 1st time!
Well , not sure about removing felt tabs matter because we are only doing 15 seconds the first time , then 60 seconds after it’s out of jig. So I think it will be fine. One thing that important is pushing phone out of jig with both thumbs at top and bottom at same time.
So besides the fingerprint issue with the Wsd glass, is the Whitestone compatible with the Otterbox Defender case? I tried it with the Note 20 ultra, and although it barely fit, any pressure on the outer part of case caused the glass to lift up. Is the AM film compatible without the lifting issue? I can't see how plastic types can help against impacts with the defender. ( currently using the UAG Monarch Kevlar edition. The glass definitely fits, but the poor front lip protection doesn't inspire any confidence . Except maybe side or back drops.
Thanks for the great tip! I just installed mine and it was like performing brain surgery. I have 2 dogs and dog hair is always floating around. So I locked myself in the bathroom and proceeded to follow your instructions . Everything went perfectly. Sometimes the fingerprint sensor won't unlock the phone, yet it seems to work 90% of the time in my apps. I just ordered a UAG monarch crimson red case. Hopefully it fits well with the Whitestone dome.
Yes, The Whitestone does work perfectly with UAG line.( including the Monarch) however, The Otterbox Defender is Not compatible, and although the Monarch is rated at 20 ft, it doesn't appear that way. Good luck!
Great info! Also watched Ebp man video- Then I began the process and then screwed up ( no pun intended) opening up the wrong end of glue tube, luckily I was able to keep glue puddle centered on screen, and salvage the whole process to 99.99 % perfection. Followed the extra curing steps, fingerprint pressing after 1st curing and now the fingerprint reader works great. Yikes! almost had a disaster by removing the black cap first! forgot to pay attention to that tiny detail! Using the new UAG Kevlar monarch as my case, Not taking a chance with Otterbox defender and mess up the install. ( edges lifting etc.)( edit-With sensitivity turned up.)
I had Spigen EZ Fit on my Galaxy S22+ and it was almost impossible to use fingerprint reader - it worked randomly and it was really annoying. I replaced it with Whitestone Dome glass and pressed firmly fingerprint area after 1st UV round over 10 times and effect is outstanding - fingerprint reader works like a charm :)
I have Whitestone on my S22 Ultra. It's the best screen protector I've used. Doesn't look like you have one on at all. That said, they do scratch and break somewhat easily. It's good that it protects the rather fragile S22 glass which scratches if you look at it wrong. But, at $25 a pop ($50 per two pack) they're kind of expensive. I'm on my 3rd one now so $75 so far to protect my phone in less than a year time.

I then went into the settings to redo the fingerprints and for some reason it would only register about 10% of it. I had to remove it. Not sure what I did wrong. Any ideas? There's another brand that is made in Germany that I think may be better than Whitestone. It definitely spills less glue out the sides. I'll provide the link to anyone interested.
