    Teams have tried to do the two tightens offensive for years because of the defenses becoming faster and lighter due to the passing game. It only works when you have two good tight ends that can actually run block and also a threat to catch. Most of the time it fails because getting one tight end who fits the mold is hard. I believe we have the guys. Plus the bigger back, and speed on the outside makes the base offense dangerous. I feel we can hide the 9-line inefficiencies by having the tight ends help, Lamar on boots and just getting creative. Think of Gronk and Hernandez. Both exceptional guys. I think likely is special and we know what Andrew’s is. I feel we’re going to put up some points and the defense is going to be the real issue this year

      I agree with the approach/concept of taking advantage of Likely and Andrews being on the field more together. However, Gronk (the greatest tightend ever who had no weaknesses) and Hernandez, our guys are not.
      Doesn’t mean it can be effective though. Just don’t see the kind of dominance that the NE guys produced.

      Forgot calling everything how you see it. Just find a way to put them on the field together.💪🏿

      I think a great blocking TE with good hands is worth more than just a big WR. Most don't.

      Gronk + Hernandez. Exactly.

    Coach I’m excited for the season to be here finally!!! I appreciate the amazing content as always! Nobody like you in the biz (at least in the Ravens content space).
    I believe that a key to our offense finding success (unlike in the postseason) is success on 1st down, if their rushers are able to pin their ears back combined with Spags mixing all kind of coverages, it’s going to be a long day for Lamar and the o. But if we can find success with a shorter passing game and Henry wining on early downs, we will be able to mitigate that which made the Chiefs’ d special last season (their pass defense especially on 3rd and long yardage situations).

    Likely got that speed and power; Andrews is that mega clutch dependable hands. Amazing 1-2 punch to have.

    They can. Plus Bateman and flowers. 2WRs/2 TEs set.💪🏿

    I think the plan was to run the two tightened sets to help the younger line. Vorhees was a late second rounder that dropped to the 5th cause the acl. We’re gonna be alright especially if we go under center

      7th round for Vorhees

    I have a hard time imagining how the opposing safeties can simultaneously deal with the tes running at them to block for Henry behind Ricard and the possibility of them just getting open over the top. How can they ever really double a wr vertically with those guys out there? I don't see it.

    • @bemore_wins1355
      @bemore_wins1355 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m not sure opposing teams need to double any of our outside receivers. We don’t really have a true dangerous vertical threat on the team. Bateman can run very routes more due to the savyness/smoothness of his route running. But he’s not really a guy that teams have to worry about running by you. Neither is Flowers or Nelson. It remains to be seen regarding the rook from NC.

      @bemore_wins1355 I would disagree with that assessment. Zay proved capable of making plays vertically at a decent rate. Bateman has been clocked at 22 mph when healthy and has long scores in his highlights. I wouldn't leave them without deep help very often. Even Agohlor gets open deep. It's been the type and accuracy of the deep shots that have been less than ideal imo. Q talked about the 2 vs. 3 balls in terms of arc and catchability recently. If Lamar has more confidence in the wrs, he'll put more air on those shots and let them adjust. Otherwise, he will probably continue to try to drop it in perfectly in stride, which, imo is why they have had so many near misses on good reads. It will be single coverage somewhere, and I expect many more shots than last season to compliment Henry.

      @@jeremiahw1369 also we don’t have any real receivers with the big body alpha prototype to get jump balls. The deep shots wouldn’t really make sense as jump balls with Zay or really any of the other guys. I was hoping we would get a Metcalf (body style) receiver this year via draft or trade. Lamar’s never had a receiver who can go up and get it.

    • @jeremiahw1369
      @jeremiahw1369 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sweatyzeusgaming it doesn't have to be back shoulder or anything jump ball. Just take a little mustard off and lay it out a little more for the speedy guys. Likely, and Andrews will get the contested targets more often, I imagine.

    As much as I like Likely and Andrews individually, I just don't know if putting them in a two tight end set creates the most conflict. When they are on the field together I would think the defense should treat them as possession receivers first and tight ends second and try to get quick pressure on Lamar in passing situations.
    I like the idea of using sets that let the offense emphasize the run but remain competent in passing concepts, and vice versa. Like the i formation with henry ricard and andrews, is as heavy of a set as most teams will face all year, but if you shift andrews into the slot and ricard(you have to throw the ball to him when he is wide open) to tight end.
    At the other end of the spectrum, in 11 personnel you can still run power, counter, inside and outside zone towards andrews but with Agholar/Wallace/Watkins/etc in the slot away from andrews, that backside safety can't overcommit to rundefense, with Lamar possibly keeping the ball the weakside backer has to slow play it a bit, if they don't you have the boot action and a potential big pass play.

    18:33 I would love to see Kolar get at least ten Off reps (not for injurys) on Thursday. I agree with Henry and being in 12 personnel, I like our chances

    I think most Ravens fans concur that Gus Edwards knew exactly how to run in this offense and we all will see that he will be sorely missed as a Raven..Gus was a one cut and go runner where as Henry needs a runway to get going..never sure why this team never seemed to give Gus his props here in The Chamed..but I think we'll see how good and much he'll be missed going forward..
