Hunting down BIG fish at the Tekapo Canal - The Fish Bowl

The trip from Christchurch to the Tekapo Canal isn't a short journey. I have been there once before and hooked on to a small fish but lost it. This time around the odds were in our favour as Stan landed a beaut 8lb Salmon and I took home a nice 3lb Salmon.

Very fun. I checked out your channel after you made a comment on my NZ butcher video. Perhaps I'll have the chance to return to your beautiful country again. Fishing there would be a fun time.

Im at the fishing bowl right now havent managed to catch anything been here for 3 hours any tips im using shrimps and pink tassys

Try a small soft plastic lure and sink it right down to the depth of the cooler water. wind slowly. Have fun

Nice vid mate with a beautiful backdrop. I'm a betting man & I'm very sure that Stan's fish was actually a Salmon & not a Rainbow. And I have to admit to laughing when Stan guessed his Salmon's weight to be 15lb - a true fisherman! Looks like you were softbaiting? I'm heading down to Twizel again in a few days. I like to fish Ohau C & have had good success catching Salmon using Daiwa Chinook Spinners. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Thanks for the comment. Yes the views there are amazing. Yeah he mentioned 10lb oh no 15lb. Sometimes you get it right and Sometimes you don't.
