A bit late to the party here, but figured i'd chime in since I just bought an AT and was looking for videos and feedback like this, hopefully it can help others:
My wrist sits right between 6.5-6.75 inches and I generally buy smaller watches in the 38 range, but I opted for the 41mm on the AT after trying them both on. When looking at it from the top down the 41mm looks to fit much smaller on my wrist than on others. My 41 from a top down perspective almost looks to fit like the 38 does on other men, despite my wrist measurement. There are some 40mm watches that look massive on my wrist.
Anyone looking into this just remember that your wrist may still measure smaller than others, but could be a bit wider, and the watch itself could just fit your anatomy well despite your initial thoughts. It's hard to know how one watch will wear on your wrist compared to another of similar measurements.
I was dead set on 38 before going in to try them on and ended up falling in love with the 41.

Thanks for this great comment. I have found the 41mm AT to fit very well on a small wrist. I think there is more to fit than simple dimensions. The design plays a large part as well. The AT 41 on a strap looks quite large, but when it is on the bracelet, the design flows seamlessly together and the relatively large crystal of the AT becomes less prominent and makes the watch wear smaller.

I also agree with this comment, same sized wrist, but the 41 looked surprisingly good. It just seems to wear smaller than what the size suggests. I tried both on, and both looked good.

Good video showing the size comparison. Sold my 38.5mm quartz AT 5 years ago after getting that same blue 41.5mm AT. Beautiful piece.

I also got the quartz first, then when I tried the 41.5 automatic I found it wore very nicely despite the larger size.

I like the 38.5 better mainly because of different propotions.
bigger one's more manly the smaller one's sexier

The white dial one you have in hand is the quartz one. The mechanical ones of the same size have different white dial configurations.

Yes thanks, I am familiar with the white 38.5 automatic, used to have it actually.

What do you think of the legibility on the silver dial?

    • @omegawatchfan
      @omegawatchfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Legibility is decent. The dark dials are certainly better, but the faceted indices and hands help improve the readability on the silver/white dial as well...they help make those elements visible even with light coming from different angles. The automatic's indices are slightly thicker (they stand taller from the dial) as compared with the quartz version, so this effect is more pronounced on the automatic.

The 41 looks so much nicer but i have girly 6.3" wrists T_T

It looks good on almost any wrist size. I would go for the 41, it is more proportionate to my eye.

The 1st generation aqua terra watches are very nice also and a bit more affordable. I actually prefer the size of the 39.2mm version more than the newer ones. It was the perfect size watch, and quite thin too.

The 38 mm it's perfect size for me, I don't have the money but I can dream 😂

It's a great watch. The quartz versions are still relatively a very good deal compared to the automatics. Cheaper and no servicing cost worries. But they are not being made anymore so will get harder to find I imagine.

That 41.5 looks way too big on you. I would say at least for a 7.5"-8" wrist. I know this is a comparison but just saying. Thanks for the vid, I know which 1 I will be choosing.

    • @omegawatchfan

Appreciate your thoughts. The 41.5 AT wears quite large due to the narrow bezel, wears a lot larger than a 41 seamaster pro for example. I liked the 39.2 size of the 1st gen AT the most.
