This series of short-game lessons are so informative and enjoyable to watch and this one is the best so far, in my opinion.

My fav one so far and they've all been awesome! Ray listened intently and almost immediately delivered what Dan wanted. Fantastic interaction. There's something about footballers from Ray's era. They are so respectful and they understand, "two ears, one mouth for a reason" i.e they actually listen to people.

Totally agree, sometimes it's frustrating to watch celebs coming on Dan's channel and constantly interrupt Dan's advice. Then you see them out on their own channel messing up the same shots. If only their ego would have allowed them to shut up and listen when a master is trying to help you, then maybe you wouldn't be still messing up the shots Dan was trying to teach you how to play. Ray really listened, and then was able to execute, very humble man. P.S. Ireland v Italy 1994 was the craziest night of celebration in Ireland in my life, we partied like we won the WC that night.

This has to be the best short game video I have watched for clear demonstration and an excellent engaged student who executes. Dan your tips and guidance on bunker play has sorted that part of my game. Ray Houghton was golden loved watching his release 1 be so well executed !!!

When he said “what an amateur,what i would do , is change loft go for a different shot” is dead on ! I was trying for decades on those longish shots (like the 9i one ) where theres a lot of break i would try to loB over most of the break …..inevitably mucking it all up ..until finding Dan and another youtuber who led me eventually to Dan, i never even considered trying to learn the roll and break more than what was absolutely necessary…🤷🏼♂️ …now its ine of my better shots (most times ,iam still learning it lol)….i play with one guy who every shot 30 yrds in is a flop . Refuses to try or learn any sort of chip ,and only has a pitch shot by accident(a bad flop that rolls way past pin) …been trying to get him to chip (and practice putting , he is horrendous with a putter) but its like he doesnt believe me when i say its so much easier to chip than a flop..if he did hed be whooping me with ease ,i cant get off the tee with any sort of playable 2nd most times 🤦🏼♂️…. Just started reading Dans book ,im early into it but so far its no nonsense saying just whats needed and what to key in on like these lessons here.👍🏼✌️
My take away is to have Dan tell me what shot to use while he critiques my short comings and all my shots would be a couple feet from pin😂

If you ease off on your grip at the top of your swing it also helps you shallow in the full swing.

If I were a member at Ray’s club I wouldn’t be playing him for any cash after watching how quickly he picked up on these pearlers from the man.
That’s the difference, what takes some years to learn pro athletes learn in seconds.
Question Dan, if we are chipping with 8 and 9 irons can it make some chipping more difficult because you don’t have bounce like wedges that offer forgiveness?
