Yes CLR is light coming from above like a sky light or ceiling fan. ALR is light coming from anywhere but straight on like a lamp or a window

Dear Your ust projector determines which project screen you will use
1. Projectors with lumen ≤ 2000ANSI use projection screens with gain ≥ 1. Because ANSI is low, the projector needs a projection screen with a gain greater than 1 in order to have a good projection.
2. If your projector lumen is greater than 5000ANSI, it is recommended that you use a 0.6 gain projection screen.
3. If your projector lumen ＞ 2500ANSI, ＜ 5000ANSI. It is recommended that you select a projection screen with a gain of 0.8.
Note: ＜ 1 gain is considered as: - gain, applicable to the balance of projection effect picture of high ANSI UST projector in any environment; ＞ 1 The gain is considered as:+gain, which is applicable to the brightness increase of low ANSI projector projection effect pictures in any environment (micro/telephoto/short focus projectors).
You can decide your screen according to the above.

Who watches a projector with so much light in the room? A dark room would have been way more beneficial to determining the difference.
Why do you think they make screens that combat light in the first place? Because people watch with light 🤦♀️ I made a video in the dark as well.
