As with other enterprises in our city ,it's a makeshift job,on the cheap and half hearted...we are always playing catch up and hence lose out to lesser places (no names no pack drill) and when we bestir ourselves ,produce the goods..for years we have punched below our weight ..this is why we surprise people now with the size and beauty of the place ..it's always been there, we just haven't made the best of it,taken our opportunities, and had friends in political high places (more no names and pack drill) ..headingley stadium has only 3 sides to it ,and the adjacent cricket ground had to be threatened with losing test matches before they were stung into action ..fortunately,we've seen the passing of the thick headed Yorkshire flat cap types and had an influx of progressive minded types who think in terms of image and prestige rather than quick profits and keeping things as they are
