UK EXIT TAX

  • I am incredibly proud to be British and it breaks me to see this happening to the UK and it looks entirely deliberate. Things have gone from bad to worse since event 201.
At a time when the country needs to ease taxes after the unnecessary server lockdown that destroyed public health and people's livelihoods in the UK, we see them overreaching again and attempting to use this time to snatch in heavier taxes on the nation.
The impact and damage that is likely to be caused by these tax changes should not be underestimated.
The October budget is something everyone should be aware of as this could impact every single British citizen and resident.
Knowing plenty of Non-Doms in the UK I can tell you that many these individuals don't just contribute a lot in tax but also a great deal to the British society.
Seeing millionaires leave the UK is devastating because nowhere else in the world can you find the same level of freedom and morals that the UK holds and yet they are still choosing to leave due to this attack on entrepreneurs.

Things could get better. Although the main stream news shows one thing what's going on behind the scenes can be a completely different story and I'm aware that they are getting a handle on this more and more as time goes on. I.e they were able to get Mr Lockwood after all the incredible work that's been put in to unveil a lot of dark in the UK. The is hope and I firmly believe that the UK and USA have a freedom that can not be replicated replaced anywhere else in the world. The more I travel the more I love the UK.

@@benjaminmossman161if the rich want to get out of here in the U.K. where can they go to? Being Irish myself, I’d love to move back home to my family in Ireland, but it’s even worse in Ireland in the 23 years that I’ve lived over here in the U.K. and what I’ve seen on visits home over the years has been totally horrible, even as soon as you get off the ferry from Holyhead as soon as you arrive in Dublin, which is a nightmare - even my home village in Rural Ireland where I grew up has been ruined - I’d always hoped to be able to spend my retirement in Ireland, but this now looks like a distant pipe dream, in fact since Covid, I can’t even be buried in Ireland

Consequences will be devastating should an "exit tax" happens. Taxing non-doms is one thing but if Labour imposes a tax on anyone taking money out of the UK then the future of UK is sealed. I can still remember the exchange control regime of the 1960s and the impact of that. Imagine some pensioner living in the EU now find their pension remittance "taxed" and possibly taxed again at their place of abode! For any foreign investor to find not only their investment taxed but when they remit money that is taxed too. Who on earth would invest?

I'd love to stay, it's my home I grew up here, I want my kids to grow up in English but this government is evil and there is no fairness in it's upcoming tax policies. I don't get anything more for my contributions for trying very hard to do well by family than the other person who doesn't. On the other hand... if we want a compassionate society, then those with the broadest shoulders have to carry the bigger burden. That's not to say we don't need reform to the nhs and other government spending... it will be the same for all Europeon countries (that matter), all heading towards higher taxation. If people are making money in a particular country, shouldn't they then contribute back towards that country? We're not all Dubai or Riyadh, which subsidises everything with oil wealth. The Scandi countries are also highly taxed, even before the current left governments came in, but you do get more back, i suppose, as a benefit. Power and economy are shifting from the West to the East... are we on a permanent downward trajectory? Was the previous government any better?

Many high earners work in financial services. Increasing taxation on them will drive the companies and high earners abroad.
I want to hear about controls on mortgage lending, as huge mortgages are provided on houses where materials and labour costs are 25% to 33% of the sales price. Currently ordinary people are borrowing huge amounts just to provide huge profits for developers, land owners/ land bankers/financiers. Old houses should have further lending reductions, as they wear out. The bank wouldn't lend you more than the new price on a 3 year old Ford Mondeo, why are they allowed to lend so much on houses. The mass-immigration has created such a huge demand for housing, that prices are distrorted.
So headline taxes are one thing but the mortgage house price scam has generated billions for developers, etc. and keeps giving for the banks, with through fractional lending. End it.
