Make sure to watch the video around the 11 minute mark so you can see how these work with a Mac and how you can see up to 3 virtual screens or one large wide-screen in perfect detail on this device. Great for productivity and other work on your Mac computer.
@@jkayb I would also like to know that. For multiple screens on iPhone you definitely need the USB-C XR Charging Adapter, for Mac I believe it goes without. Would be great to have this confirmed!
You can't imagine how long I was waiting for a video like this. I've beed looking for a AR for productivity for a long lime but every reviewer just talks about netflix and games. Thank's!
spent many hours using the viture pro and the xreal air2 pro on my macbook air m2 on productivity work. viture was superior to the xreal in software features and visual clarity. xreal was superior in head tracking, comfort (weight) and looks. i ended up returning both - the xreal was just not clear enough for work, the vitures were great but had a constant drifting problem which required re-centering the screen constantly ( this is after calibration ). this might have been a bad pair, so not everyone may have this issue. both pairs get hot, and AR software for both can be unstable and require restarts at times
I don't really notice the drifting but see what you could mean by that. I just use them a few times a week or when I travel and I love them. Yes, they are an expensive item to use occasionally but they are so nice for movies and some occasional work I think they are worth it. Thanks for the post.
Hi Craig, thanks for the review! I'm considering buying a pair primarily for productivity purposes with my MacBook Pro M1 when I'm not at home, and sometimes during a travel. Around minute 11, when you're demonstrating the functionality with 2 and 3 displays, the video appears a bit jittery. Is this something you experience while wearing the glasses, or was it just difficulties during the screen recording? I'm concerned that I might feel sick after using them for several hours. Thank you!
It is much smoother when on the head for sure. It's hard to film. But just get them and try them and if you have issues you can return them. Everybody is different but with me it doesn't bother me. There are a ton of settings like smooth follow and other things you need to play around with to get the right settings dialed in.
Justified buying them for coding on-the-go but there's so many uses for a portable screen they will go to good use even if that doesn't work out too well. Thanks for this perspective.
Yeah, for the cost I think they are a good value. It's something you need to get used to but it's something I like more and more when using them. Thanks for watching.
Just came across these last night and I'm very interested in using them for my 13"MacBook pro but I'm curious as to what the setup entails or is it truly just plug and play as it connecting it to an external monitor through HDMI... By display module is busted so I can only use my laptop at home plugged into a TV but these would allow me to be mobile again and as an engineer that's crucial for being able to meet clients where they are, thanks
Question regarding the USB-C adapter discussed around 7:24 (shown 7:26): you suggest this allows you to "use your own usb cord", but that doesn't look right. What is the intended function of this adapter?
@@craigneidel what glasses does it connect to? This is a usb-c male connector and then the female portion of the mag connector. The virtue glasses use the mag connector. This adapter might serve if you wanted to connect the mag adapter to a standard usb-c input on a monitor or maybe non-viture glasses. I just don’t see how it connects to viture glasses
after owning these glasses ive decided to return them and opt in for a full vr headset instead... quest 3 does all the glasses do and more for same price or cheaper
I think it’s just comfort and portability that makes this one preferable. Could easily travel with it and wear it on an airplane. That’s harder with a Quest 3.
What is the virtual resolution of those screens? I understand the each eye screens are 1080 but the virtual screens could be higher if you move around to see the screen. Not sure what the software limitations are.
Great review Craig, love to hear how much you're enjoying VITURE Pro - thank you for your support! And while VITURE Pro is the best experience, even users with VITURE One and VITURE One Lite can enjoy all the cool features SpaceWalker has to offer. 😎
May I ask what your iid is? I have a pair but I can't seem to get them dialed in correctly no matter what I try. The text outside perfect center and I mean perfect little circle in the center it feels blurry. Their tech support said it might be a faulty pair, my imd is around 66.5 I tested with an iPhone app so might not be exactly right, but gives and indication. It seems weird that my iid is too wide when it should support up to 70.5..
I change it all the time since I have a few people using it. And that would not really make a difference for you since all our vision is different and you should dial it into the best setting for you. So it could be a bad pair maybe.
I don't know about AR glasses, but I own VR headsets and what I don't like is the nonstop shakiness of the picture - as you can clearly see on the VITURE captured footage - you will see it the very same way on your face, I assume. Now, I was asking myself, is it even possible to make precise mouse movement and other stuff which usually doesn't bother you, because your "old-school-monitor" does not shake all the time in front of you?? Doesn't it feel like having Parkinson all the time? I mean, that's my big issue with VR headsets at the moment.
The filming is not how it appears in real life. That shake is from trying to film it but I don't get that when wearing them. I'm not paid by them but they are pretty good when you have the settings right.
They are 1080P in each eye which means something higher. I don't see any pixels really and it's pretty good. I recommend trying them and then returning if you don't like them but they are very sharp.
I bought this and when I tried to update the firmware on my Mac it kept failing the update midway through. I tried over 10 times with no luck so I sent them back.
I would have like if you showed us 3 screens with a youtube clip on each screen at the same time,. static looks good but would like to see actual movement on the screen
Smooth follow moves screen if you look up etc or you can fix screens. Filming this is near to impossible but what I see is way clearer and not at an angle but instead aligned perfectly. So it looks different when I try to film.
@@craigneidelone question, excellent video btw. That smooth follow thing moves the screen on the minimum movement you do? It sounds annoying as is that big you need sometimes to move your head a bit. I’m I correct?
Of course not and that is why I'll never buy a Vision Pro. These are more a novelty item that I like using sometimes but I think it's worth the $450 cost for sure for the occasional work plus the entertainment value.
I know this is a different topic but I would appreciate an answer Greatly. Got a Samsung T7 Touch ssd, my question is HOW CAN I USE IT AS A BOOTABLE DEVICE and still use it as Portable Storage devices on other PCs or MacBooks. Thanks for your consideration
No, in real life it's not like the example in the video. I don't think it is and it has a bunch of settings like smooth follow or you can turn that off.
A question to Tim Cook: How did Apple miss this portable glass market and came up with a ridiculous Vision Pro that literally no one can afford? If Apple came up first with this product, it would be likely another personal computer revolution like how Apple first launched their iPad. Laptops would all become obsolete. No one ever needs a laptop with a display. The new form of PC or Mac would be computers built into a foldable battery powered keyboard where you could always carry in a pocket plug a glass on the go. The same revolution could also happen to a cellphone that a screen is no longer needed. It would become a small power bank like device that could be clipped to your shirts or belt and connects your glasses via a coiled wire.
Thanks for the post. I'm not sure how Apple thought people would buy a $3500 (min) device when Microsoft already had a fairly cable one out for $450. I think they will eventually have glasses around $1,200 which would still be way higher but at least would be on some peoples radar if they are very good. Right now though that is a long time away.
There is actually a cellphone already, with no display, it’s the Viture neckband, though it does not have a cell radio. But it’s an interesting thought. Put your Mac mini in your backpack, with a power bank, keyboard and trackpad on the table in the coffee shop, and off you go. Maybe a smaller sized MacBook is more compact after all since it combines all these things.
