Then there was the fight against Maliketh, where I don't think that fight even lasted a minute because spamming Taker's Flames deleted his health bar really fast. I did, however, switch to the Envoy's Long Horn for the fights against Mohg and Placidusax, and that thing just destroyed both of those bosses. The only endgame bosses that didn't go down so easily were Godfrey/Horrah Loux and Radagon/Elden Beast. I still needed maybe 10 tries to defeat Elden Beast.

I recently went into the Placidussax fight on ng+3 with 2 other players and before I even reached the boss one of the 2 other one shot the boss. It's insane if you think about the health boost the boss gets for ng+ and the summons.
Not trying to be rude but here are some suggestions to make these builds better 19. 3:04 maybe instead of ritual shield talisman, try marika’s soreseal or scarseal because of the B scaling in int 18. 4:32 try white mask instead of altered nights Calvary helm. The 10% boost after blood loss is useful for getting even more damage out of it. But you should only use it if you use bloodflame blade 17. 5:40 maybe either powerstance a cold uchigatana or run any dagger in the offhand with cold affinity. Thanks to bloodflame blade, the weapon will undo the frost proc allowing you to get another frost proc 16. 6:51 you can switch up the erdtree’s favor with Millicents prosthesis even though there is no dex scaling and you could get hit so maybe you could remove ritual sword talisman and could switch it out with lord of bloods exultation if your running it with bleed affinity or bloodflame blade. Also if you pick bleed affinity it will bring back dex scaling so there is extra damage, but it mostly isn’t worth it 15. 8:34 if you aren’t the best player, you can switch ritual sword talisman with something like starscourge heirloom or fire scorpion charm that raises fire damage if your using bloodflame blade 12. 12:52 if you aren’t the best, just try starscourge heirloom instead of ritual sword talisman 11. 14:55 use the spell blade set to get a 8% extra buff to all magic ashes and instead of ritual shield talisman try prosthesis wearer or stargazer heirloom 9. 17:35 maybe try lusat’s glintstone staff instead of carian regal scepter because of the damage boost even though there is a debuff, but I don’t think it matters because of cerulean hidden tear 9.2 19:05 instead of ritual shield talisman try marika’s soreseal because of the 5 faith boost 8. 20:14 try starscourge heirloom instead of ritual shield talisman because of the 5 strength boost, after all, the weapon does have an A scaling in strength 6. 22:34 Maybe try a flame art weapon in the offhand to undo the frost bite proc like a whip or specifically a pike with flame art 1. Instead of ritual shield talisman, try two fingers heirloom because of the B scaling in faith and the extra weapon AOW damage I really like all of the builds, some were so good I couldn’t even make them better
Thank you. Last build made me kill the 2 last bosses! I wish you could´ve got in a bit more deep into the builds but still, many thanks for your video!
I played the azur comet build on my first character a sweet combo I found was using mimic tear with the aggro talisman. Worked really well even on those moving bosses plus I have night comet in my back pocket. I'm a little sad you didn't add a dragon communion build. I love it and it absolutely melts bosses since you can pretty hit for any weakness and I use the same mimic tear to draw aggro. I haven't tried it past ng+3 so maybe it teeters off but I'm loving it so far.
Hey I just found your channel and I've been going through all your build guides, probably the best ER build guides I've ever seen. Just wanted to ask what you're most looking forward to in the DLC coming out? For me personally I cannot wait to see what bosses and weapons we're going to see, I'm so hyped.
Strongest build I’ve seen is power standing Cold Godskin Peeler(chilling frost) + Eleanora’s Poleblade. Jump attack hits 2x each weapon, proc frost with peeler and reset with fire from poleblade + bleed proc. Crazy strong Dex/Arc build, especially with multi hit and jump boosts.
16:34 executioner greatsword Why did you choose Faith Tear over Magic Tear? The dancing blade deals magic damage. Using Magic Tear would deal a lot more damage. Great vid, BTW.
The rusted anchor build, the spear talisman works well for me. Just test it, it only works when you are trading kinda because enemies have to be attaking you. But it can be in any phase of their attack. Test it on week enemies that wont do much damage so you can pay attention to the numbers. Or the albenarics i guess lol. But see how often the talisman procs to see if its worth it to you over other options. I used it on a heavy armor high poise build where i just traded with everything. Its fun but can get old or jarder to just let things hit you when enemies get tougher So i eventually changed my setup
Did a strength build my first playthrough using the zweihander & eventually the ruins greatsword (my first fromsoft game.. I got killed a lot lol), second run I did an uchigatana sacred slash faith build that ended up as a pure incantation caster by the end game, simply because my entire build was designed to do holy damage which is booty in late game. On NG+ I'm doing a combo of ice spear + caster build with clayman's harpoon & Lusat's staff and my God is it broken
Just wanting to say that since ice spear is a bullet art and scales of dex and int, the absolute best damage potential actually came from (strong) keen weapon affinity, with cold affinity coming second. basically there is strong and weak heavy and keen weapons that entirely depend on the weapon itself, notable weak keen weapons are naginata and nagakiba, keen swordspear would be the best affinity for max projectile damage on ice spear since sword spear is a strong keen weapon edit:consider magic affinity only if your int is much higher than your dex for the best damage based on your stats
@@AverageGamerMatt even at max 99 all stats level i got a feeling that strong keen would be the absolute best when it comes to projectile damage due to how bullet art formula works. im basing this on chrightt video regarding ash of war damage calculation, i never actually calculate the numbers myself tho so cmiiw
I did my first playthrough with a Dex/Bleed build and I was bored to death by the end of it. I feel like you’re much more limited by pretty much always having to wear the White Mask and Raptor’s Black Feathers if you’re doing the jump thing and the same talismans. The Marai’s sword’s slow charge wasn’t doing it for me either. Reduvias are fun and so is the Elenora’s twinblade. I did the early game with the Nagakiba and Double Slash, so I wore out spamming it by late game. It’s just more limited IMO and doesn’t really mesh with my play style I guess. I ended up doing a Strength/Intelligence build that I much preferred. I could wear a variety of armor. I used the Fingerprint shield and whatever I want for a weapon. Once I put some stats into Dex too, the variety of weapons and options just opened up and fit my play style much better. I’m also new to the game and not very good at the timing for rolling, that’s probably why I enjoy the heavy shield + counter style build. It’s interesting how a popular build might not fit a person’s play style, but the game allows you to find something that does!
There’s so much versatility for sure. Elden Ring is awesome that way. Dex & bleed can be a little too easy for some, depends on which build. The blood blade ash of war is really fun. And nice! Shield builds can be good too even for PvE. 🤘
I would drop faith from a few of these builds and run Commander's Standard/Rallying Standard instead (remove after buffing). This will allow for better stat spread. Great video!
@@AverageGamerMatt True, but below level 150 going through NG can decrease weapon/armor/spell choice. I also like to play co-op, a group buff is nice. Trade-offs for sure!
If mimic tear is allowed, then blasphemous blade build is indeed number 1. Maybe swap out some of the talismans for more survivability, since regeneration won’t work if you get killed too quickly. Without mimic tear, then night comet and dual twin blades are stronger. Night comet can deal damage from a distance while dual twin blades can deal damage after jumping to avoid attacks.
@@AverageGamerMatt Gotcha, I think its pretty interesting that they're so ludicrously powerful in NG but then fall off completely in NG especially given that SoR still works on Milenia (thank god).
Thank you, great video! Used the twinblades first playthrough, bloodhound fang now. I think it’s the most fun, it’s probably like you show in this video way stronger options, but I enjoy the gameplay of that weapon :)
i remember my first ever playthrough, i ran into rykard wayyyyyyy to early than i should have. but i spent a couple days, got his remembrance and blasphemous blade. didn't realize how OP i was until i started my ng+ with a whole new build. blasphemous carried tf out of my first run.
I'm usually a Bloodhound's Fang one trick but with all my playthroughs into NG+, I try to switch it up. The Scavengers curved sword builds are one of my close second favorites. With leveling arcane much higher than dexterity, does that mainly just increase the build damage/frost damage? Do those both mainly scale with arcane rather than dex? If that is the case a respec is in the near future. Love the in depth descriptions!
Awesome choices! 🤘 and the scavengers will scale with pretty much only arcane on occult for both bleed build up & damage/DPS. I like them because you can pump arcane up to 70-80 and need only like 14 Dex and can prioritize vigor, endurance & a lot more than split stats would normally allow.
Nice video, thanks again! In my heart scavengers will always be top one with the night comet. For the scavengers u have to be really good dodging while with night comet u can snipe a lot. Nice video as always
I love your videos they have been a big help to try some builds I’ve never messed with and optimize as much as possible!! Question, when you show your stats for each build do you factor in a great rune or is that just a bonus when you want to use it? I tend to go with Godrick’s great rune
@@AverageGamerMatt Well I just beat Maliketh with your blasphemous blade setup and it was pretty smooth! Still trying to find my build though. I don’t like the cheesy spamming of that blasphemous but I really wanted to test fun weapons.
Would be nice to also hear a reasons why something is X place vs others. I for example don't get why Double Slash is #17 while some other builds I find... more lackluster, clunkly and less "spammable" are on higher places. For exaple Ice Spear from pure DPS perspective kills slower than Double Slash yet it's #11. But nice place to look at many builds, thanks for video!
The bloodhound fang is the creators gift to new players for sure. It is too from the start and destroys bosses posture. I noticed this as I tried it out in the stormviel castle and it was just melting everything. I couldn't use it knowing how to it was. Glad I didn't after seeing how many ppl used it on their first runs
I love running frost on flamberge with wild strikes so much damage. Also magma blades are insane on ng7. Also I agree with Marias executioner sword another weakness for it is if the ground is even a little unlevel most of the time you throw the sword forward into the ground especially in melenias arena.
@@AverageGamerMattyea they are took like 6hrs to get 2 for me 😂 I hated them at first n thought it was a waste but gave them a good try and they’re one of my favs now. Melt any boss super quick and great when u get over run by adds and slay in pvp just all around good.
Hey Matt, I love the aesthetic of Helphen's Steeple, but I'm not sure if it's very good. Do you recommend using it? And if you had to, what talismans and physicks would you use?
It’s good, just not in my top 20. I would go with the shard & magic scorpion charm for sure. Maybe ritual sword talisman. You can powerstance it with the Darkmoon greatsword too. 🤘
Never said a video was efficient before, but my lord this the most well done, efficient, and helpful videos I've seen in quite a while. You have my sub sir

Great video as Always !! Would have thought that wing of astel would be on the list haha , and just a Quick question isn't the clayman harpoon would be better with icespear than the gardian ? Cheers :D
Swordspear is better from my testing. It has really high AR though especially in Keen and that’s a factor too. Ice spear is tough because it scales with int, Dex & AR lol and thank you! 🤘 the wing of Astel is prob just outside my top 20. Cheers.
Great video! I don't even own Elden Ring and this video was a blast to watch. Not sure what Ashes of War are but I'm guessing it's a weapon infusion thing.
i was kinda shocked when you got to the first place, it boggles my mind that 2 years later they still didn't nerf the blasphemous blade. it was a literal easy mode on game's release and it is still now, wow.
My guess is it was intended that way. To make it easier for those that needed a little extra help. Otherwise it wouldn’t been nerfed like the ROB which is kinda bad now lol
@@AverageGamerMatt idk if i'd put ROB even at it's peak into the same category as BB. i've played ER as a very casual souls player and i can't convey just how much it makes it an easy mode and removes the challenge component. it heals you for attacking from a distance, and it heals a lot (both flat and XP bar percentage iirc). imo you can nerf it by 30% and it'd still be of great help to novice players. i've been seriously considering replying the game before DLC comes out just cos i pretty much ruined the later half for myself by finding this sword on my first playthrough lol.
@@jigsaw_3156 lol true it is easy mode for sure. You could always go for a more challenging build for a second playthrough. Flails are fun. Square off with straight swords too. Prayerful strike is a more challenging BB, as it heals you but it’s basically a melee version. 🤘
Matttt! If you are looking for a cool armor set I got one you should check out. The Twinned Helm, Royal knight armor, veterans gauntlets, and the bull goats grieves. It’s a clean set I thought I’d share because it’s a nice magic ish looking set with good poise

15. 8:34 if you aren’t the best player, you can switch ritual sword talisman with something like starscourge heirloom or fire scorpion charm that raises fire damage if your using bloodflame blade
12. 12:52 if you aren’t the best, just try starscourge heirloom instead of ritual sword talisman
11. 14:55 use the spell blade set to get a 8% extra buff to all magic ashes and instead of ritual shield talisman try prosthesis wearer or stargazer heirloom
9. 17:35 maybe try lusat’s glintstone staff instead of carian regal scepter because of the damage boost even though there is a debuff, but I don’t think it matters because of cerulean hidden tear
9.2 19:05 instead of ritual shield talisman try marika’s soreseal because of the 5 faith boost
8. 20:14 try starscourge heirloom instead of ritual shield talisman because of the 5 strength boost, after all, the weapon does have an A scaling in strength
6. 22:34 Maybe try a flame art weapon in the offhand to undo the frost bite proc like a whip or specifically a pike with flame art
1. Instead of ritual shield talisman, try two fingers heirloom because of the B scaling in faith and the extra weapon AOW damage
I really like all of the builds, some were so good I couldn’t even make them better
Amazing video man, you gave me a lot of ideas!
Awesome! 🤘
Thank you. Last build made me kill the 2 last bosses! I wish you could´ve got in a bit more deep into the builds but still, many thanks for your video!
🤘
Amazing work thank you!
Great content 👍 The best Elden Ring content that I've come across
@@UNC7EB0B thank you! 🙏
Thank you!!! Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷

It’s still very good. Just without summons only great for standing targets/ones that don’t move much.
@@AverageGamerMatt That's fair, on the bosses that don't allow summons I do tend to struggle a bit finding an opening.
Hey I just found your channel and I've been going through all your build guides, probably the best ER build guides I've ever seen. Just wanted to ask what you're most looking forward to in the DLC coming out? For me personally I cannot wait to see what bosses and weapons we're going to see, I'm so hyped.
Thank you! 🤘 and new weapon classes. Also if we could get a few good/meta katanas besides Moonveil lol
I like your script! Clear and simple. Really great video.
Strongest build I’ve seen is power standing Cold Godskin Peeler(chilling frost) + Eleanora’s Poleblade. Jump attack hits 2x each weapon, proc frost with peeler and reset with fire from poleblade + bleed proc. Crazy strong Dex/Arc build, especially with multi hit and jump boosts.
16:34 executioner greatsword
Why did you choose Faith Tear over Magic Tear? The dancing blade deals magic damage. Using Magic Tear would deal a lot more damage.
Great vid, BTW.
Thanks! 🙏 and for buffs (Golden Vow/FGMS). Base faith is 15. The magic tear increases it but minimally. It does way more physical damage than magic.
32k subs is a crime your videos are the best Elden ring ones for build explanations.
Haha thanks! It’ll pick up soon. DLC in 18 days! 🤘
Nice video man keep it up 🔥
Thank you! 🙏 🤘
Its fun but can get old or jarder to just let things hit you when enemies get tougher
So i eventually changed my setup
Nice! 🤘
Nice! Yeah Ice spear is awesome. 🤘 strength is fun, was better before the poise nerfs though lol
“If you wanna think about what your next move will be” 🤣 10:59
Just wanting to say that since ice spear is a bullet art and scales of dex and int, the absolute best damage potential actually came from (strong) keen weapon affinity, with cold affinity coming second. basically there is strong and weak heavy and keen weapons that entirely depend on the weapon itself, notable weak keen weapons are naginata and nagakiba, keen swordspear would be the best affinity for max projectile damage on ice spear since sword spear is a strong keen weapon
edit:consider magic affinity only if your int is much higher than your dex for the best damage based on your stats
Yep it scales with Dex, Int & even AR. Cold affinity is best at high levels. Keen swordspear otherwise, agreed! 🤘
I'm investing with a sub before this channel blows up. Great quality of content, got a few ideas for builds from your list. Keep it up!
Thank you! 🙏 🤘
Amazing vid bro just subbed
Awesome! New video up tomorrow on the best builds for all main bosses/remembrances (based on each bosses’ weaknesses). 🤘
Awesome vid!
Thank you! 🤘 🙏
I would drop faith from a few of these builds and run Commander's Standard/Rallying Standard instead (remove after buffing). This will allow for better stat spread. Great video!
Thanks! And I don’t like the short duration. Golden vow is cast & forget. 🤘
Yep they’re all good. All 3 are relatively close and very easy to use and take down bosses fast. 🤘
@@AverageGamerMatttwin blade may be the best because of pvp too. Blasphemous and sword of knight and flame kinda suck in pvp IMOP
I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing that Ancient Death Rancor/Stars of Ruin is completely slept on here.
They’re okay. I’m on NG+7 so they both fall off some. Stars of Ruins’ tracking also got nerfed a fair bit.
@@AverageGamerMatt Gotcha, I think its pretty interesting that they're so ludicrously powerful in NG but then fall off completely in NG especially given that SoR still works on Milenia (thank god).
Aaaaaaaand thats a sub! Great video:)
🤘
I’ve been running blasphemous blade since I got it in my playthrough a long time ago, it’s just goated
Haha yep it is! 🤘 💯
Thank you, great video! Used the twinblades first playthrough, bloodhound fang now. I think it’s the most fun, it’s probably like you show in this video way stronger options, but I enjoy the gameplay of that weapon :)
7:00 since afaik ashes of war don't get the strength bonus from 2 handing 80 strength should still give some noticeable benefit
W vid bro kepp it up BTW can u make a bid showing how u come up with these builds 👻
Thanks! I have crafting videos on my channel. You can find them in the “crafting videos” playlist. 🤘
You are a great player. Thank you. I am excited for the new map. I will be waiting for your clips
Thank you & me too can’t wait for DLC. 🤘
i remember my first ever playthrough, i ran into rykard wayyyyyyy to early than i should have. but i spent a couple days, got his remembrance and blasphemous blade. didn't realize how OP i was until i started my ng+ with a whole new build. blasphemous carried tf out of my first run.
Best builds keep them coming boss love ya content mate 😎🤙
Thank you! 🤘
Thank you! 🙏 solid choices too 🤘
Nice list! Didn't expect the Elden Geesus joining in 🤣
Thanks and lol 😂 it was fun doing a collab. I appear in his video from yesterday too! 🤘
i dont know what it is but this mans voice is serene i could listen to him talk for a year straight
I love your videos they have been a big help to try some builds I’ve never messed with and optimize as much as possible!!
Question, when you show your stats for each build do you factor in a great rune or is that just a bonus when you want to use it? I tend to go with Godrick’s great rune
Thank you! 🤘 and I don’t use them that often. Just the faith tear for 10 levels. But Radahn’s is typically my favorite great rune.
@@AverageGamerMatt Well I just beat Maliketh with your blasphemous blade setup and it was pretty smooth! Still trying to find my build though. I don’t like the cheesy spamming of that blasphemous but I really wanted to test fun weapons.
I miss here black flame tornado but still great video
Thanks! It’s very good just needs hyperarmor. 🤘
Dude sounds like my doctor running down labs
thank you. great vid
🤘
Would be nice to also hear a reasons why something is X place vs others. I for example don't get why Double Slash is #17 while some other builds I find... more lackluster, clunkly and less "spammable" are on higher places. For exaple Ice Spear from pure DPS perspective kills slower than Double Slash yet it's #11.
But nice place to look at many builds, thanks for video!
Whats your base character build? What character did u chose for dext stats?
For Dexterity samurai is perfect. For arcane go bandit. 🤘
Loved the video ty
🤘
The bloodhound fang is the creators gift to new players for sure. It is too from the start and destroys bosses posture. I noticed this as I tried it out in the stormviel castle and it was just melting everything. I couldn't use it knowing how to it was. Glad I didn't after seeing how many ppl used it on their first runs
I stuck with knights great sword and iron great sword. Frost flame combo. Loved it. Changed between different ashes. Lions claw was fun
I love running frost on flamberge with wild strikes so much damage. Also magma blades are insane on ng7. Also I agree with Marias executioner sword another weakness for it is if the ground is even a little unlevel most of the time you throw the sword forward into the ground especially in melenias arena.
Nice choices! 🤘 Magma blades are good they’re awful to farm for though lol
Thank you! 🙏 🤘
I did a dex playthrough using 2 guardian sword spears one with repeating thrust and the other with ice spear, i managed to kill malekith solo for the first time using the sword spear, glad it made the list ❤
Awesome weapon! Yeah Ice spear is very underrated. It’s magic damage, does poise damage, and can be spammed. Plus the frost build up too. 🤘
Rusted anchor with spear talisman procs on jump attacks as they are considered piercing counter attacks.
What do you think of Eleonora's Poleblade? Is there a reason why it didn't make it to this list?
It’s just okay. Super fun to use, but it’s outclassed by many other bleed weapons & seppuku.
The blasphemous blade paired with the Godskin swaddling cloth is awesome and you should definitely try it. The healing factors stack.
I thought I wouldn’t like ice spear but I tried it on guardian sword spear like you and it’s so fun and good definitely one of my favorite builds
It’s awesome! I didn’t know either until I tested it a bunch recently. Also you get dex + int scaling. So it works in keen affinity well too. 🤘
What's better? Using 2 bandit curved sword or 1 bandit, 1 scav curved sword
@@tanjiroushirogane690 probably 2 bandits for now in blood.
Kinda shocked to not see Star Fists and Wing of Astel in the video but it's fun to see a ranking of the best builds!
Wing of Astel is close. For me I still miss a lot with the hitboxes on fist weapons lol star fists are good though. 🤘
Thanks! 🙏 and yep it is. It’s an amazing game btw 💯 🤘
I will pick it up if it ever goes on sale. Not sure if that happens often. Some games rarely go on sale on Steam. @@AverageGamerMatt
@@mchlup it has before a few times on steam (I think 3 total in 2 years), it likely will again. 🤘
That's good to hear. @@AverageGamerMatt
I just bought the game finally and ive already restarted with 2 different beginning classes. Now im thinking of restarting again with a mage build
Nice! Mages are fun. Pretty much easy mode lol
@@AverageGamerMatt I wouldn't say that just yet 🤣
@@dapappyofdayur you’ll be fine lol by late game they’re very OP. 🤘
What the hell was that spell used at the start of the Reduvia daggers fight? Looked OP
It’s an item, Margit’s shackle. 🤘
@TheKingofRedLightning nice one cheers mate!
Great vid but i had one question as im a little new, why do you use the faith tear when you have enough faith to already do your buffs?
Great video
Thank you! 🙏 🤘
20:17 what's the benefit of boosting faith with the wondrous physick flask in this build?
Base faith is usually 15-23. It allows me to use faith buffs like golden vow, FGMS & howl of Shabriri. Increasing damage by 40% or more. 🤘
i was kinda shocked when you got to the first place, it boggles my mind that 2 years later they still didn't nerf the blasphemous blade. it was a literal easy mode on game's release and it is still now, wow.
Haha thanks! I’ll try it out 🤘
Im surprised you don't have a dual wield magma blade build in there, saw a video of it and it really looked op and fun.
They’re fun for sure, probably just outside my top 20. They’re pretty quality/even split between strength & faith though.
Great video, do you know anywhere I can keep myself updated for meta pvp builds? Thank you!
Thanks! And probably ChasetheBro. 🤘
