  • The Caro-Kann is the perfect chess opening. It's safe, but it can become an attacking opening. It's solid, and it gives Black favorable endgames. The theory isn't too hard to learn and the ideas matter more. I love the Caro-Kann!
Check out my new website hangingpawns.net/ It's still a work in progress and any feedback is appreciated!

Much better use of time in this game! You are always at a bit of a disadvantage re time because you're making a video of the game, plus talking through to viewers about the analysis of each position. Viewers, of course truly appreciate your input here but each of your opponents does not have to comment/analyze etc!!

9:43 if he went Bf7 you’d take the rook, he takes your rook and then you fork the king and bishop on e2

I'm happy to see how you have progressed in evaluating the positions more objectively. No too long thinking anymore, quite the opposite, some hasty moves without considering possible checks (Bg5+, Nd3+). Good game overall! 38:37 you are not first to queen, but you have 2 extra pawns in the queen endgame.

I am also enjoying playing the Caro as my main answer to e4. Oddly, I feel I get more activity than with the Sicilian

Personally I prefer the Sicilian as a defense to e4 because I like sharp positions however the Caro-Kann is probably the most solid (I play it sometimes, when I mouse slip and play c6 instead of c5 😂). I think it definitely fits your style

I played and love both but my results with the Sicilian are much better, even without knowing much theory.

@eviekai ohh thanks do you think I can play the silician at 1400 rapid elo?

    • @eviekai

@@smolsprout8738 oh yes for sure, go ahead. Just choose a variation that suits your play style. I would recommend either the accelerated dragon or the kan Sicilian if you are starting out. They don’t have that much theory to study compared to other variations

Hii.. I am 1000 elo rating. My opening is almost solid but middlegame and endgame is pure garbage😂. Can you suggest me any source materials or something that can help me improve?
