    We're blessed to get this speedrun for free, definitely the most underrated chess channel on ytb i know, i hope more people find it because i have been watching your videos from only 2 months ago and went from 1550 to 1700 in rapid (I was stuck on 1500-50 for a long time), so I appreciate the content!

      Thanks mate, I really appreciate the words and congrats on reaching 1700! What do you think your weaknesses are that you need to address to reach higher?

    • @rafaelpaquete3350
      @rafaelpaquete3350 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ChessCenturion Thank you!! I would say my weaknesses are more on the practical side of chess, middle game scrambles and coverting winning advantages. I just have to work on that by practicing more and watching chess games. And at least for me, your live games and post analysis are as good as it gets in terms of content since it mixes both entertainment and information, so that's my honest feedback, thanks again mate!

    its amazing you never face the other lines…alien, fantasy, tarktower (not sure of the spelling) main line exchange with Bd3 and the infamous von hennig gambit! on the other hand you have no idea how your caro kann games have benefited me…thank you so much i was very unsure about it and thinking of learning the sicilian instead but thanks to you im sticking to it and learning a ton 🙏

      by the way the t is missing don’t know if it was always there but i just noticed it 😊

      Yeah it's fixed for next episode lol. I think most people below 1800 or even 2000 just don't understand the Caro Kann which is why you can't just learn main lines and why I advocate so heavily for understanding the ideas and concepts

    Very clean. I really enjoy how you never really tried to flag. Even when your opponent was down to increment, you kept working the position and finding great lines. Super instructive. Seems like a lot of players get stuck around that 1500-1800 level because they still try and flag.

      Thanks man, I like 15/10 because it takes flagging more out of the game and encourages more precision in conversion and better time usage - also more realistic to OTB chess with increment. Glad you enjoyed!

      The Panov is such a good way to counter the Caro Kann fr

    Glad to see you fighting against the Panov in a complicated game! At 34:02 you consider different moves and finally go for bxa6 - the move expected by your opponent. Sure, it's winning too, but why give him counter play? I'm not considering only his time trouble to put him at thinking, but his a6 pawn is almost non-defendable, at this stage into the game you are at no risk playing slow b6 or b5 and you have a lot of threats, while he has no plan except rook activity on the a-file after bxa6. Just my pedantic thoughts in a game that you kept under control magnificently!

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks mate. I totally get that b6 or b5 means a6 is very weak but I think I just didn't want to risk a7 becoming weak somehow and giving white serious counterplay. Obviously taking allows the rook to the a file but even if I lose both a pawns, so what? He has no a pawn to push so I was cool with that, I can focus on the centre of the board if that makes sense?

    • @laszlokorosi9012
      @laszlokorosi9012 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @ChessCenturion It makes sense, even the computer gives only a tiny edge for b5/6 versus bxa6.

      The Panov is really tricky to play against, but also tricky for white!

    What do you do when someone plays the fantasy? Whats your opening prep there?

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      I actually just play 3...e6 and try to induce e5 from white to turn it into a more favourable French where the white pawn is completely misplaced on f3. Qb6 lines are also very interesting though

    Great game with the opponent fighting really well as usual... if I didn't see the ratings I would have assumed that you're at least in the 1800 range. I do agree that you're getting a lot of advance and exchange variations; I don't even know what you play against the classical because I've never seen your opponent do it

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah he did very well to generate counterplay after all the exchanges, had to be very accurate to not lose that. I like the Tartakower against the classical but have also been experimenting with the Gurgenidze!

    Another great video! Alex, can you tell me how I should divide my time to improve my Chess? What percentage of my 'chess' time should I devote to playing, puzzles, openings, videos, tactics, etc. How did you do it? I'm 1300, how many openings should I know? Thank you.

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks dude, I'd put a fair amount of time into tactics, videos and puzzles, do play some games absolutely but make them high quality - at least 10 minute games and spend a chunk of time analysing it and understanding why the computer recommends what it does. If you see my recent short th-cam.com/users/shortsgMTt7X_NS7Q?si=ag5fh1_SRalvWaOE this is the kind of analysis I mean

    Panov Attack is very much like the queens pawn game. It might even transpose into Queens Gambit lines?. Anyways it can get insane and confusing.

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah kinda, it's probably the most anti-Caro Kann line there is in my opinion

    I saw the o-o-o, but the white played Nf3, which is bad. I saw the rook check since it prevents the development of the bishop after Re5.
    So always look at the forcing lines first. Also, then f4 cuts of the white bishop. Positionally, I think I am stronger, but tactics, do'h.
    At 49:18 I saw a5 to prevent b4 but then white plays a3 once again threatening b4 and how do you stop that...
    Why playing a6 to take enpassant. Funny! I did see b5 too, but Kb5 is best.
    Although d4 is best, instead of going into those trickier lines.

    • @ChessCenturion
      @ChessCenturion  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah I didn't really think Kc6 would come back to bite me so harshly but the whole Re8+ Re5 idea makes a lot of sense. Really interesting game!
