    I bought a 5810 off Ebay for $200 with 14-core Xeon. The biggest surprise is that it had a Quadro P4000 and 64-GB of ECC RAM installed. I bought a PCIe M.2 adapter that allowed me to use a faster NVMe drive instead of a SATA SSD. It was for my 12-year old grandson who kicks butt on games.

      Really?? Lucky you😉the P4000 in itself already is worth more than $200!

    You can actually use an NVME SSD in a pcie slot with a x1 or x4 adapter.. I run my T5810 with an adata 128gb as a boot disc.

    Nice video ... I have upgraded my Dell T5810 with a Xeon E5-2678 v3 processor which has 12 cores and runs like a deer! Also I have two Micron DDR4-2133 32 GByte memory cards which is plenty for my CAD operations. I also run a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB graphics card which again does a good enoigh job for my CAD work. Overall the power draw is very low now with this graphics card (I have the same 685W power supply but I am drawing around 200W ). I have two Dell 1900 x1200 24inch screens for my general work which are nice. Thanks for sharing the SSD pricing - I didn't realise how low the BX500 1TB SSD had dropped to. Does your motherboard have SATA or nVME slots? - the later ones did I think - certainly the T5820s do!

    • @Hardwaremoney
      @Hardwaremoney  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice config and Monitor set up 😉, and yes, the prices of ssd keeps dropping by the day, even the high end Samsung EVO! nVME slots on the mainboard.. hmm not so sure, can check it though tomorrow when i get to the warehouse.

      You want 4x Ram modules to make use of the Quad channel memory performance! so better to get 4x smaller modules than 2x big ones!
      Mine has a e5-1660 V4 CPU as I use for games so better Ghz speed on less cores, with 4x 4GB 2133 and a GTX970 (serves good as a second gaming PC for the living room)

    To get a full height GPU in I had to drill out the rivets and remove the big crossbar on the case lid. It wasn't too hard but a bit of an obstacle

    Hi there, I recently acquired a T5810 workstation which has a xeon e5-1620 v3, meaning its only a 4-core. Would it be worth upgrading this to one of those 12-cores? It is going to be used for gaming and I plan to pair it with an rx 580.
    Cheers!
