      An interesting fact about dog patch. Passing through the area and I vaguely remembered the amusement park and had never been there. So we just drove up in there. Made a very quick lube in what amounted to the old parking lot and left. It was obvious that the motorcycle gangs that were occupied the place did not want us there. A number of them came back out and look at it never really said anything to us. Couple of them pointed towards the exit I nod away and immediately left. The locals called it a motorcycle club and some of them said that they had bought the place. Nobody much wanted to talk about it. I was told later they are no longer there. I had plans to reopen the place. I'm not sure that's a viable option. But I am not an expert on opening closed amusement parks. You mentioned dogpatch I thought you might find this interesting 🤔.

      A guy I used to drive for. His daughter was badly injured (almost lost a Leg) on one of those Dogpatch amusment rides. They successfully sued the park. however Dogpatch took bankruptcy and the arkansas commissioner of state lands (COSL) sold the property at a Tax Forfet Auction.

    Hot dang, you finally got to the old Avery. That's almost identical to mine. Mine burns a good bit of oil and runs a bit weak but it'll be a while before it gets any attention. IXB3 Hercules. Great story about the scraper operator. LOL Sure gave him a bad day !! I really like the 57 Chevy too. A little different from my old 4 door I sold for 15 bucks when I went in the Marines in '71 though. 283 three on the tree. Awesome video guys !!

      @thecollectoronthecorner7061  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes our Avery has the little Hercules. got the new rings and head gasket from NAPA all those Decades ago. I have owned six 57 chevy four doors. one had a 265 and another was a 283 and I still have the 283. The other 4 where just bodys. two where 4 door hardtops . They called those a sports sedan. Yes the guy I took for a ride in the pan was lucky. If he hadnt been able to climb out I might have loaded it with dirt.

      @@thecollectoronthecorner7061 Man I liked that 283. For a mouse of a motor it really sent that heavy old '57 flying down the blacktop !! My brother, nephew and son are all operators and they agree 100% about your assessment of belly scrapers. They all have been stuck on 'em over the years from tiime to time. The new ones are much better than back in the day, but they will still beat you to death over time.

      @@thecollectoronthecorner7061 I'll get a few minutes of the old three door...but it was a 57 Ford wagon with Courier emblems on the front fenders. I remember you rodding the 55 up and down the street a while back. Sounded pretty good. The other 57 is a sedan with a V-8 open to the elements. The wagon is a six banger.

    At Ford they used to say quality is job #1.
    In life I think job # 2 was the guy in the back of the earth mover! 🤣🤣
    There is a market for your truck. Some people set them on a newer chassis and with their big fenders use big mudder tires. Unless it's bigger than a 60 series Vikings truck, the hood and the hamburger same size as a pick-up. You could always try the Vermont registration route. I never have done that. Some people cut back around 10 in from the front of the face of a truck across the fender and grill. They sell for wall art. Then Part and scrap the rest of the truck. You might be able to get somebody buy the back of it so they can make a dump bed trailer out of it. Silas over another channel sales dozen of those front grill and Hood people at Walmart and get to about $450 a piece. He is selling them primarily to dry in Texas too resells them for me even more money 💰. Just a couple of ideas. Thanks for the laugh with the story about the earth mover. 😊 It brightened up otherwise not-so-good day I was having. Kind of bad for the fella that was in the back of the earthmover. I found this to be a great episode.

    • @thecollectoronthecorner7061
      @thecollectoronthecorner7061  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heck If we where desperate for money the truck would bring $1000 across the scales for scrap. We do have another dump bed and frame. It was a 59 viking. sold the doors and removed the cab and fenders engine ect. I often thought you could mount a pair of dually one ton axles under it and convert it to a Gooseneck hitch. and possibly cut the sides off and have a handy flatbed dump trailer. run the PTO from a 1 cyl engine.

      @@thecollectoronthecorner7061 I just don't and ideas because seem like you wouldn't mind getting rid of it. But without the title you were stuck. Never mocked thing might work I'd be curious. I have a 1960 Vikings series 60 truck and she is in a great shape. I figured the cab and herd will go to building a half ton pickup since I have the frame. Heck I even have a stepside bed for it. Now getting to it is another thing finding the time. Anyway it has a 14-foot grain bed on it. I plan to make it into a gooseneck trailer. I will just do electric over hydraulic. I'd mention this before to Silas over there and he ended up doing this. He just made a bumper pull. His channel is adventures made from scratch. He's the guy that sell so many of the sections for art. He sells a lot of cabs too.. I've made a few suggestions. He may have had the idea before hand but some of these things have worked out well for him. Plus I sent a few people his way. It's the neighborly thing to do. I figure if I subscribe somebody there my TH-cam neighbor as such. After all I've taken a number of things that you've said and use them or at least adapt them to something has helped me out.

      @@brianlurten3028 We built A big lake in 1980 (Lake Ashbaugh) used terex S14 with the two 4 cyl detroit engines. They worked very well in the mud and could even load themselves. A paddle wheel is handy when bluetopping. Pick up the graders excess roll and deposit it where a bit of fill is needed. I quit operating equiptment and went to driving truck Because there wasnt much federal money for road building. And the wages stagnated and actually regressed. Too many Baby Boomers chasing too few jobs.
