Brian has good reason for wanting to use his injectors. They're designed for this engine and good for up to 600 horsepower. He's been tuning Saabs for decades and this V6 since it was introduced in America. You're at your limit with the stock injectors, and those free ones you got probably arent specific to this engine (assuming you got them just as a generic Bosch EV14 Injector). The B284 has a specific spray pattern that no other (or at least very few) injectors match, and from a tuning standpoint that can be a nightmare. Just keep that in mind.
Yeah kind of silly he spent $2500 for 340 from maptun (yes I know he already had some of the parts) instead of $2500 for 390 from VermontTuning. Maptun just doesn't have as good support for the V6 as VT does plain and simple, but maptun does have better 4cyl support
@@AutoAutopsy well yeah, but I'm saying for the whole kit from maptun, I know the tune itself is much cheaper. I was talking kit to kit price, you sort of ended up getting the maptun kit piecemeal over time, but still
Fuel volume may not be enough at the high RPMs, causing a pressure drop and triggering the ECU to cut boost. Just a thought, but your tuner will know better. Sounds great!!
Have Maptune 3 inch exhaust on my Saab 9.3 2.0 litre petrol convertible - sounds beautiful 👌 have only stage 1 re map and K and N filter -1 may get 3 inch downpipe at later stage To stop it have black diamond drilled and grooved discs and Bilstein shock absorbers , strut brace Can be expensive and addictive tuning ! Have to do mine a bit at a time ! The sound it makes is priceless however ❤️👌
The reason it's a Stage 3 on the TX is that the TX has a very free-flowing cat-back from factory, so there's no traditional "Stage 2" where you change air filter and cat-back. If you look at the non-TX V6 Aeros they will have a traditional Stage 2 and their Stage 3 will be the same as Stage 2 on the TX. Just a technicality. Regarding the boost cut-out - Talk to Maptun and run the Data logger in the Maptuner X. I'm sure they can see if something's wrong. One long shot may be to try with ESP disabled. The ESP will sometimes cut power without the light coming on due to what the ESP system considers to be "unreasonable acceleration". This usally happens around 5500 or so rpm.
Im not going to lie I dont really have any idea what you are talking about. I just know I had a Saab 9-3 for a short time they are bad ass cars fast safe reliable and sexy. I want another one. They are not easy to find esspecially here in Idaho
Auto Autopsy the boost on your car appears to not spike high at the bottom end which is great. With these V6’s that bottom end spike kills rods, I’ve seen this spike on several cars running JZW maps even at stage 1.
I'm a Volvo performance guy but really like Saab too. Just don't know them like I know Volvos. Is it popular to use Megasquirt and have like a good DSM tuner work with it on the dyno? The reason many Volvo guys don't mess with Megasquirt is because of the 5 cylinders, but the guys who use it on 4 and 6 cylinders have a lot of luck with it it seems.
Hi, There are couple of questions I want to ask as it all looks very interesting. Yesterday I visited Vermont Tuning site, and what suprised me most was they offer stage 0 for this car which is 320hp and 540Nm (there are dyno graphs on their site). These are insane numbers comparing to what You have, especially that they offer this tune WITHOUT any other mods, just remap, so it's applied to a stock car. What's the difference then, and why Maptun needs so many hardware changes for the car which is 'only' 480Nm ? How do You cope with the heat under the hood, are there any surprises over time ? And just btw, what's Your avg milage on TX? thanks!
Hi Bro! What do you have to say about the durability of these 2.8t engines? I see a bit around that some people think they are not to be trusted, and especially not if you tune them with more HP...
Nothing important but I have the same 3.5 cable in my ttid same dash and you can have the Metal 3.5 plug straight and push the cable in between the sat nav and dash all the way to the ash try. Makes it so you can’t see it. Nice car by the way.
Auto Autopsy does make a difference tidies the dash. I also have a Bluetooth 3.5 adapter and wireless phone holder which I put the cable behind the radio and ac unit
My tuning files won't go to the maptunerx I've tried the synchronize button multiple times and it shows the files to download but won't actually go to the device 🤦🏼♂️
Hey I got a question not related to the video sorry. I’m getting a 3” downpipe with a high flow cat in it on Friday on my 2011 9-3 would you suggest getting rid of the second cat and resonator? I’m leaving the mufflers cause I don’t want it that loud. I know the downpipe night make it a little louder but would removing the other cat and resonator sound too loud? Should I only take out the cat? I’ve looked on TH-cam but can’t seem to find videos on the exact thing I’m looking for. Thanks.
Removing the second cat will make it louder. Removing the resonator will increase the rattle can noise characteristic and fart noise characteristics. But it doesn't make it much louder. Since that's the 2.0T it'll make it sound like those ricer cars (weall to me anyways, but it's your opinion that matters). Here's how it'll sound th-cam.com/video/HNBAspXp5SU/w-d-xo.html muffler delete will sound better. here's a muffler delete only video for the 2.0T th-cam.com/video/SCgLPXwSPzU/w-d-xo.html
I’m current running the ancient JZW stg3+ tune with a 19T turbo. Esid2 shows 334 max HP and 486 N/M of torque. The car feels pretty fast but in reality I know it’s not that fast lol. I already bought the maptunerX and the stg3 tune but haven’t got motivated enough to do it. The Maptun tune is probably less aggressive than the JZW tune but I feel like maybe it’s not a bad choice considering how many stories I’ve heard from people who also run the JZW tune and got their engine blown up.
@@alexcastillo986 From what I know he doesn't do v6's only people who tune the 2.8 here in the states I know of are Vtuner and JZW, but JZW's apparently been unreachable as of late from info on forums.
