yes. the saint brakes are downhill racing brakes. they're as powerful as bike brakes get. but four piston XTs are very nearly as strong

Yes some people have done it. It would work better on a hardtailas there's no chain growth

@@409nh8 I have it on my old SC Bronson. I however have a HammerSchmidt in front with a 22 plate. It is tight, but works OK, even if I bottom the frame out.
