- Destiny 2 - This is a review that I have worked on every day for the past 2 weeks. I've never put more work into a single video than I've put into this one, and that's because I love and care about Destiny so much that I wanted to make sure that when I finally reviewed the game, I was clear on what the sequel was, and where it should go next.
This is a video that will disappoint a lot of you, and I'm sorry for that. I wish I could have made something different, and it certainly would have been a lot easier for me to join the chorus of voices praising Destiny 2 as an improvement over Destiny 1. But it's not- it's a step backward, and in this review I want to talk about why.

*First up- this review is the culmination of two straight weeks of work. If you like it, dropping it a thumbs up and subscribing to the channel helps me out a lot.*
*Secondly, I know this review will disappoint a lot of you, and I'm sorry for that. I provided my honest and frank assessment of this game because I care deeply about it and I want to see it succeed in the long term, and I have faith in Bungie to grow and improve this title over its lifespan. Hey Ralph, when Ghost Recon Wildlands's PvP lands, are you gonna drop a vid on your take on it? I know you haven't been talking about that game much (if at all), but I've enjoying the hell out of it (it's like a tactical version of Boderlands 2) and I think the PvP update that's coming looks awesome. And, they said there will be more than just the one game mode for PvP coming.
Skill Up, while there are a lot of points I disagree with in your review, there were very many that I didn't. So, in my opinion this is a well done review. Reviews by their nature are subjective measures of how an individual feels about their experience. Yours wasn't what you wanted, but I respect the tone you use to deliver your thoughts, and your restraint in not going overboard with your critiques.
I do wish you had spent a bit more time giving Bungie and the team credit for the enhancements they did make (the worlds are much larger and expansive, the graphics are certainly improved, the open world elements are less grinds, the loot is more plentiful--despite your contention it is less rewarding--and the clan system is awesome).
That said, as a hardcore fan of the game myself, I am glad to hear that you're sticking around, as you are certainly an asset to the Destiny community. Bungie would be well advised to at least listen and take to heart some of your critiques.
I think you're very right about that stuff mate- the definitely did some good work and this review doesnt tell this story because it was focused on the issues I saw. Definitely respect the hard work of Bungie peeps (some of whom I know personally).
Title should really be "Destiny 2: A Documentary Disguised As A Review". Your game "reviews" are emotional journeys with better storytelling than most blockbuster films. Quit your day job already because this is your calling.

"Skill Up's Review on Destiny 2 In A Nutshell". I can see it now. I love SkillUp's reviews. It's what a review should be regardless of whether it's positive towards the product or negative. With Destiny 2, it's been really hard to find a negative review that actually talks about what needs to be improved or a positive review that does the same. This is what I love about Skill Up. His reviews contain that master stroke that makes it sound like poetry and his passion about what he does and the games he plays shines through.

Mtashed This guy gets it Mike! It's kinda depressing for sure how many points he made. ESPECIALLY on the loot and the raid. Destiny 2 needs some major fixes, but has potential to be an amazing game. I still love it though.
The game DESPERATELY needs a higher difficulty mode! I can't fathom Bungie decision to make the game so easy with no difficulty settings. Its ruined the campaign and it's ruined most of the endgame. Where's the fun in going back to the planet's as a level 250 + to play missions that are meant for level 70, 90, 120, etc? Is it a bad joke? And what about them removing game modes like Rumble, 6 v 6, 8v8? Is that a bad joke too?
Remember when Bungie first announced D1 and talked about how if "we could see it, we could go there" type of exploration? Yeah that never happened. I had hoped for that type of exploration in D2 since it's made on the current gen systems, but sadly it hasn't.

I'd be happy if they just put in more things to scan/find in all the dead ends that seem to be there for no reason. I love scanning stuff in games, it feels pretty useless in this one. It's like they just wanted to keep the cool effect of bringing up the ghost, and I don't find it all that helpful for navigation.

I'm pretty sure the guy who wrote the original story was fired before d1 came out I could be wrong but I agree and actavision just made bungie throw together a story to get it out for the holidays just to get paid but in my defense I do love this game its a game where I met most of my friends and made the best friendships but as you progress to the endgame the flaws are shown I could be wrong I just think in my opinion the game seems geared towards casuals players but again I could be wrong I'm not saying I'm wrong or right its just what I feel and have heard I want this game to do good I really do
PackmanGaming Just play Warframe its free it came out first it's better than both destiny 1 and 2 combined and they constantly do updates giving its current player base an actual endgame unlike Destiny 2 which has no reply-ability sorry I had to say it.. it has over 30 classes hundreds of mods to build your own skill trees. after 2 months you new players will understand. Warframe has 500+hours of content just to get to the end game missions..
There are literally free to play games that do it better than AAA and these destiny guys why'd you take out so many things that worked in the first game that didn't even need reworked in this one and then didn't even fix any of the old issues.. literally started playing Warframe again because they are putting out more and more content every month actually fixing countless and numerous amounts of bugs and glitches and it's still buggy but at least we're seeing active progress on an almost weekly basis compared to most AAA games that don't even do that just trying to prepare for day one sales by hyping up the pre-order and trying to show as little actual gameplay as possible and I hope with the next game you really step it up because I'm not buying this one..(not the next one either because bungie/activision failed) I still haven't bought it I have played it.. and I'm not impressed I'm smarter than that smarter than the sheep that just blow away money then say "i hope the next update/game fixes this" already wasted a hundred fifty bucks on the first game and they're DLCs all that crap that eventually was replaced died out and you guys just forgot about it so who the fuck even Plays destiny 1 anymore i was pissed that you guys made a sequel instead of making a "ten year plan" to update destiny 1 make the better game more polished and add a gary raid dlc which in my opinion would have been better.. we would still have a better skill tree not a dumbed down version for kids.. destiny was already a dumbed down version of halo.. still other games that are better, their player bases are growing in the tens of millions.. so what's stopping me from going to these other games that have hours and hours even months of gameplay and replayability the player base is constantly growing for a reason its pure fun.
when I can't even have fun with this piece of crap anymore I'm just burnt out on Destiny I guess.. I can still enjoy og halo but these developers are getting way too corporate for my tastes..

instead of making quality games they're just pushing sales for day one deals and pre-orders while other quality games have just been sitting there and working on themselves for years it takes over 4 years to make a good game so I don't know why people just keep on buying these AAA games and they're putting them out year after year or at least one every three years when it takes like 10 years to make a good game of course they're going to be unfinished. I just don't like it when they take steps back just to make a cheap game that looks good. then rely on the image to sell.. just look at mass effect.. no man's sky, trove, absolver, they are all unfinished crap games that people decided to release just for the money which tells me they gave up on their games.

Lord Mazulia 100% agreed with him. I have many D1 friends that raided all the old Raids and we all think Leviathan missed the mark. It was the most mechanical and unfun raid, and TBH the most boring let down. I also expected a grandiose world eating machine that would blow away previous Raids and showcase Destiny 2 to new players. It was not that. All my friends agreed and said they won't be raiding the Leviathan again.

How is the most mechanical a bad thing? I'm kinda glad it's a decent challenge (even though it's not) especially compared to how easy the rest of the game is
Alonso, Mechanical isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just was a bad thing for my friends and I. Mechanical equaled boring to us, we all wanted to shoot cool guns at enemies and have awesome memorable boss fights. Hiding and stealth walking from dogs, and shooting stop lights on a racetrack was not what we personally wanted or enjoyed. So it just didn't work for my group, we were all bored and said we won't raid again. Some groups may like it and play every week. Bungie will see the final stats and numbers.
Memorable boss fight's I agree, but I found it to be interesting enough to stand out from the rest. Personally for me, the more mechanically intense a raid, the better. I personally find King's Fall to be the pinnacle of raiding in Destiny. Great boss fights, tons of platforming and mechanics. I hope the prestige raid has some new stuff added on. Maybe a new trial room? Who knows

It's almost like Bungie didn't understand why people loved D1 to begin with.
The fact that every weapon has static rolls and the fact that the skill trees for classes are so bare bones is what killed my hype. Loot is extremely easy to get. And all the loot is boring. Max power level is a stale carrot that has little meaning.
Even Exotics feel underwhelming. Where are my weapon/armor/class perk synergies? Non existent.
It's like they went all out in D1. And in D2 they're playing it safe. But in doing so they've ruined many of the fun aspects.
This is, by far, the best and most honest review of Destiny that I have ever watched. As a fellow player, I completely understand where you are coming from and agree nearly all your points. You have, with this one video, made me a subscriber to your channel.
Edward Mayne skill-up is one of my favorite People to watch. The same way he won you over on this review he won me over on Nier Automata. The way he looks at games needs to be commended. He is brutally honest yet still fair. I unfortunately came here hoping he would talk me into buying Destiny 2 after enjoying D1, but this review cemented the thoughts I already had. Maybe I'll return in a few years when the content is there to warrant. Until then I will continue to enjoy the many games this year has brought us. Thanks again Skill-Up.

Speaking as someone who's a competitive fighting game player, I learned years ago there is no point in listening to main stream media reviews. If you care- really care- about a genre or even a game series, they won't/ can't put in the hours to give an opinion that is relevant to you, let alone give an opinion based on as much knowledge as yours. The games I care about, it's like listening to 10 years reviewing it, making sweeping judgements about things like balance before even the best players in the world have even cracked the game open fully. Reading them actually grates.
There's no point getting upset with them, they are what they are, selling to the base, casual gamer. For people who are really into Destiny, for example, reviews like yours are the ones that have something to offer. If you put hours in, only someone who puts hours in can really help.
So, do yourself a favour and let it go they can't give an opinion based on a good level knowledge- it's simply beyond their nature and it'll help your blood pressure :D

This review helps explain a lot of things with other reviewers. Most of them seemed to review the campaign, ending the review when the story is finished. No one I've seen have talked about the end-game as much as Skill Up. Thanks for the great video!

Hey man. I know you probably wont see this. All i wanted to say was Thank you. I was much in the same loop. slowly going downhill from my hype, and all i could ask was "That was it?". But that end segment. That's something a bunch of game reviewers dont touch on. You reminded me WHY I stuck with destiny 1, and why i am willing to keep going with destiny 2.
Great job and agree with much said. I've got 3 level 400 characters in Destiny 1. I was so looking forward to Destiny 2, but then Warframe happened. 4 weeks in and I'm 400+ hours into Warframe, and the game has only just begun!!! Bottomless/endless end-game is what I've been looking for and I think I've found it.

Somehow, before destiny 2, IHE actually had alot of hope and even admiration for the destiny franchise, I along with him was just just PRAYING for it to get better, as an avid fan of destiny, I surprisingly enjoyed his I 'hate' destiny videos, and shared most of his opinions, and, just like him, I was severely let down with destiny 2, and officially gave up on it here.

I'm excited not for where Destiny 2 is, I could give two shits about the Cabal, it was a great idea poorly executed. Osiris however, and Rasputin, Savathun... All of these are lore concepts that have me hooked. I don't like the Raid, it's less a test of skill and more a test of friendship really, its not hard in that, I'm just not good enough way like Kings Fall of VoG, its hard in that, "I've been sitting here holding this ball for the last five minutes and I'm bored.... Oh look the dog glitched..." PvP is a mess, in an attempt to, either dumb down the game or merge PvP populations, for "better matchmaking" they have taken choice away from the player. A lot of destiny from the stikes to the Raid, to PVP to each class, is Bungie saying, this is our game you will play it exactly as we want you to play it. That said I love the world of destiny the story the lore the art, boycotting something doesn't fix anything, yelling at people on the other hand, as crude and unsophisticated as it might be fixes everything. It's why Destiny 1 went from vanilla to a vastly improved game at the end of its life cycle, people bitched, things improved.
While I vehemently disagree that Destiny 2 is a 'worse' game, I truly respect that you not only have this unpopular opinion, but that you also have the eloquence to explain 'why' you think this way. Much love, SkillUp.
I'm in the same boat. I'm enjoying Destiny 2 more than Destiny 1 because it has way better presentation, and it moved more toward shooter and away from RPG looter. Destiny 2 hits much closer to the mark for what I personally want it to be, because I want a shooter with a cool world and just a little bit of looting and RPG elements.
But I very much respect SkillUp and knowing how in-depth he likes to go into systems and numbers I expected he would feel this way about Destiny 2.
Unpopular opinion? The only people who think D2 is good are the oblivious Destiny fans. You people enjoy paying for the same game over and over. After all, that's exactly what your expected to do.

The only thing you forgot is that 90% of the activities in destiny 2 like patrols or anything on the planets "some unnecessary small to be a planet "cough* cough* titan are done after 265 light . But you probably meant that by mentioning the grind for specific rolls etc. Love your reviews man seriously was looking forward to this one totally hit my sweet spot with this 👍

Yeah honestly this game makes me so contrarian. It's basically everything destiny 1 should have been, and as a sequel you can see why so many assets have been re-used - and yet these are the same things that give you the feeling it's a lazy upgrade. I like it but I have no idea whether i'd recommend it.
I'm also massively conflicted over the 4v4 only pvp... the horrible lag is improved but at the cost of tiny more focused and what feels like cynical changes purely to service their shit netcode and lack of dedicated servers.

Best review out of all the ones I have seen, spot on.
Looking back on this makes me remember how rough this game was at launch. The honeymoon phase was so long on this game but the moment it puttered out, it hit hard.

Sir, I love you, thank you for conveying into a 53 minute video what my disorganized brain functions cannot, you hit the nail on the head and it's good to see that other hardcore players are feeling the same about the game as I am it's quite upsetting and the hype is starting to wear off and with it the enjoyment of this game, this review is amazing and easily the best I've seen for this game in particular even more so for any game review I've seen ever. my thoughts on Destiny 2 :
1) bare minimum effort content
2) anti-consumer systems and dev decisions
3) still good gunplay and feel
I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion of the leviathan raid. I have 450+ Raid completions in D1. Was a raid Sherpa. This raid is the worst raid they have done. Thank you for your opinion and putting it out there. I also like D2 and will stick with it because I believe that Destiny 2 will eventually be better than the game we left behind 3 weeks ago.

GSTripleF agreed. My friends and I raided in D1 and were shocked this D2 raid was what it was. A very poor entrance Raid for thousands of new players to the Destiny universe. We all won't be raiding it again.

Great, great comparison with the price champs. Funnily enough, after this video, I'm actually more inclined to try Destiny 1. After watching your "Final Review" I still wasn't sold (and Destiny 2 was coming along...), but now that we have the sequel as a perspective, it gives me the Diablo 3 post Reaper of Souls vibe. Very tempting.

Dim Ralli May recommend you to at least wait till more content drops (possibly after first expansion) before picking up Destiny 2 or have you decided not to get it after seeing the review cause I believe along with Skillup that the game will approve over time.
Oh I'm pretty sure that Destiny 2 will get better and better through the DLCs. But I can't stand the idea of microtransactions in a game you've already paid full price. Especially since we know that we'll also have several DLCs to pay too. I wanted to give it a try, but Activision won't have my money because of that move, the exact same reason why I won't play Shadow of Mordor despite really enjoying the first one. Same goes for NBA 2k18. It's a shitty trend, and I won't endorse it with my wallet.

I don't know your exact views on microtransactions, so I don't know if this will make any difference to you, but everything in the cash shop I believe you can get for free while playing the game.
The system is very similar to Overwatch. Basically, every time you level up after level 20, you get a free cash shop engram that drops random stuff from the cash shop. Also, those engrams are the only things you can directly buy with real money currency. In addition, dismantling stuff you get from the cash shop gives another currency that can be used to buy items directly without RNG from the cash shop which are on a weekly rotation.
This gives a strange almost contradictory dynamic to the cash shop where it simultaneously makes it feel better because you're not pressured to buy it, but then you wonder why people spend money on it because it seems like even more of a waste to do so.
Just thought I'd let you know in case it makes a difference and Destiny 2's DLC gets you interested later.

this game has come so far since launch and has fixed most of its issues... the biggest issue they've yet to fix/address is content vaulting

The thing is, there are no other reviewers like this, except for maybe 1 or 2. Downward Thrust kinda capitalizes on games that "did fail" and if you look beyond that, he's not in depth at all. That ACG guy or whatever loses itself in the details, reviewing sound, graphics etc. separately. The kind of overall in depth personal but spot on kind of reviews would be very much needed. I mean it's kinda bad that Angry Joe is the most objective reviewer out there?? although he basically only shares his impressions.

Earned a sub from me. I was pretty surprised at the amount of dishonest reviews coming out for the game both on the high and low end of reviews. Most notably Angry Joe's review whose conclusion I ultimately agreed with had many rationalizations in between on the way to his conclusion that I didn't understand while claiming to be objective. There are many reasons why Destiny 2 feels a lot shallower than Destiny 1 and they become exceedingly apparent in the endgame. I disagree with some of your conclusions about the raid and that's fine because ultimately I feel your take on the state of the game is far more honest than reviewers who rushed to get a review out the first week of the game.

You really care enough about the game to take the time to understand it and then review in a way that is very insightful. I could tell as you were telling us what Destiny is doing wrong that you still love and have passion for the project. You summed up the exact things that I dislike about Destiny 2. As a newcomer to the game, I can say that you're correct that this experience is amazing for people new to the game. It's really unfortunate that it was less enjoyable for you, but hopefully with the expansions it will become the game you hope for.

This review taught me temperance. When it dropped I was furious (like a lot of other Guardians). I couldn't believe the nerve of this random Aussie trash talking something I loved so much. I didn't care how much thought and love was put into the analysis, nor did I recognize the pain of betrayal and disappointment clearly on display.
Then Curse of Osiris dropped. And everything changed.
I realized how intolerant I was being when I began to share his views. This in turn made me question why I felt such ire in the first place. I was ashamed to realize that I was angry just because another human held a different view than I did.

Hey a video that doesn't spoil the story from the most literate and in depth man to ever grace reviews, as well as being very funny and plays the same games I do! Yay!(btw not being able to play D2 until almost a month after it comes out and resisting the urge to spoil the story is killing me)

I'm not saying I don't want it now, I'm saying that it literally hurts because I can't buy it until a week from now(if I'm lucky maybe earlier). I'm a nerd about Destiny, and I agree with every point in the video that may be negative, or controversial, and I can respect that. I know the game may feel like a step back and forward at the same time, but I just miss the feeling of playing Destiny with the group of idiots that are the main source of hilarity in my experience with games, so I can overlook these things because of how much I loved the first one, and how much I know I will love the feeling of coming back into this world, Destiny being one of the first games that I really got into, and have played through it's full lifetime. It was the second game I got for my PS3, and when I got my PS4 about a year and a half later, it was when TTK came out, which was a great start to my PS4 experience, and about however long ago Rise of Iron came out (I did play some Age of Triumph but not as much as I may have wanted to) was the best time I've ever had with it. I've been slightly bored with my other games until about 2 three weeks ago when BF1 got their new DLC, as well as a Rainbow Six(I'm overlooking Warframe in this because I've yet to get bored playing it since I got it two years ago) and I loved the D2 beta. I will never act like the flaws in D2 don't exist, but I won't let it hinder the just straight up fun and joy I will have when I finally get to play this story and everything else that I will do in it. I may be a bit biased to you because of how much I played D1, and how my judgement may seem blurred with nostalgia, but I assure you, it is not. I just want to play Destiny again, after facing the sad fact that we would be moving on from the first one.
Amscarpi I just hope you'll have a fun time playing the game. I just thought about maybe waiting till more stuff comes but hey it's your money you spend it anyway you want. I just hope you don't regret ur decision.
Juggernaut Flashfire WoW and OW player here, Bnet is more or less just a decent platform for Blizzard games to display news and event with each game getting its own tab. Its a wonderfully good platform in the sense it does its job and is very well integrated. However the sales parts are more or less up to the individual teams themselves so it can be random when or if a game is on sale or if there is a free weekend. However Bnet will at least display in easy words what games are doing so its easy to navigate. I do like bnet as a launching platform because its seamless but yeah holiday sales is up to the individual games.

I would definitely consider Bungie and Activision some of the most evil and disgusting video game companies on the planet. You seem to have overlooked the fact that Bungie wrongfully fired Martin O'Donell because he didn't like how much creative control Activision had. He had already finished all the music for Destiny and its sequels. The court sided with O'Donell and awarded him with unpaid wages as well as stock in the company since he was a founder. Lets also not forget Joseph Staten left before D1 even released because his story had been butchered and sold for parts. The sports analogy is ridiculous because blind loyalty to anything (especially things that require you to pay for them) is foolish. If you want change then you can't simply wait and hope for it to happen. This is all coming from someone who used to be a diehard Bungie and Halo fan. I preordered the ghost edition of D1 without hesitation because I expected Bungie to deliver greatness. I also stuck around until TTK and bought D2 hoping the original vision for Destiny would one day be delivered but it's been 3 years and this franchise doesn't deserve any more support.
Dr. Longclaw I believe the breakdown in the “vote with your wallet” abstinence policy is that only the hardcore player base cares enough to understand the issue. Many many more are casual gamers who spend the money, play for awhile and then move on.
We invested players are a drop in the bucket from a money perspective. There isn’t enough of us to make a difference, to make them feel the pain of lost revenue.
In the end, it’s the players who “take a stand” that are the only ones who feel the pain. The casuals are still playing, the company is profitable, and we’re just angry and depriving ourselves of something we enjoy.
Jeremy Galjour That is true. Most people who play are casual gamers but they aren’t the ones spreading all the hype. The hype around a game is spread by youtubers and “hardcore gamers”. Not enough people voice their frustrations. When some people do call out the BS that’s being handed to us they get told to shut up and that they’re wrong. Look at BdobbinsFTW and Darkside Royalty Lore. They both talk about Destiny’s many flaws but there’s always the hardcore destiny fanboys ready to defend the game that they’ve played for hundreds, if not thousands, of hours.
We can’t just say “if you don’t like it then don’t play it anymore” because this is affecting the entire industry now. More and more companies are trying to emulate Activision because they see how successful they are. People need to be more critical and not simply be satisfied by the bare minimum. I would argue that D2 gave us less than the bare minimum and people are still willing to give it a pass because it’s better than vanilla D1.
Considering the fact that Activision is a video game publishing company, they should know that this kind of business practice is looked down upon heavily by quite a portion of its audience. Sadly, that isn't the case.
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how much negative publicity there is if it's still profitable. It just baffles me when people complain about Destiny and are aware of how it was butchered and sold for parts, but then continue to buy every DLC and sequel.

I was never a fan of God Rolls or the sheer RNG nature of them, but I was really excited for the mod system. I really like the idea of being able to control and customize a gun and effectively create your own god rolls if you put enough time and effort into cultivating it through mods.
They failed that.

Skill Up, Thank you for this review. I have smashed Destiny 2 for the past 2 weeks. I believe I have every item and 3 20's at 300+ and It seems like the game is over already. I login each morning and see that there is nothing left to do. I agreed mostly with your end-game comments and the lack of any need to truly loot grind in D2, I don't think you mentioned it but once you have the exotics they are in your "Collections" and since stats are now static there is no need to ever get them again. Please keep hammering these issues and shouting from the rooftops to Bungie whenever and wherever possible. Hopefully they will hear you and bring back the content that built this franchise into what we all expect.

Jim Thompson That is precisely the issue. You expected to continuously play for the past two weeks and not reach an end to content. Almost no game that doesn't have an abominable level of grind has that kind of structure, you will reach an "end" if you blow through it.
As a vet, you should know that there was no where near this amount of content the first few weeks of D1, let alone the first month, the thing that kept you from reaching max was the grind. That was it. That's all.
Further, you are saying this when we obviously have other events coming up.
Unless you (wrongly) expected things like new story quests each week (which wasn't even said), and never want to even do the narrative stuff with the other adventures, and you only ever want to play one character, then there is still stuff for you to do.
How many hours have you spent? You only gave your light level.

Had about 550 hours into Destiny. Unimpressed with Destiny 2. I agree with many of your points. Thank you for making such great content. I hope Anthem brings us a game worth playing and I hope you cover it.
Jesse I for one am really REALLY hoping Anthem is a better “Destiny” and maybe even a Destiny killer. The game itself is an uninspired, overhyped, lackluster dumpster fire, that is a disgrace to well crafted masterpieces and video games in general. It doesn’t deserve to succeed and neither Bungie nor Activision have any right to be proud of the crap they gave us. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Honestly don't touch this on PC. Jusdging by the beta the whole "sticky aim" from destiny one is still present. It just doesn't work with the same mechanics on PC as with console where these mechanics are designed to aid poor control.

You're right and that kind of bothers me (the recycling part). I can't in good faith even justify giving them $60 or more for something that looks like I've played before but with less content than the first game (to be fair, they're starting overish with all the assets they have).
My friends seem to enjoy it but FFXIV has it's hooks into me and I have more invested into that game than I did in Destiny.
Seriously. I sunk so many hours into D1, did all the raids on normal and heroic multiple multiple times, worked up to the best loadouts just to have everything erased and then 60% of it just cut away completely. When you got an exotic, it took hours more of grinding to be able to just fully upgrade it. If you had a fully upgraded Ice Breaker or Gjallarhorn before Crotas end came out, you were literally the superstar on the fireteam. Everyone had their 1-2 good exotic and it took more planning and variability to beat things like raids. Now everyone has everything
My thoughts exactly. Toward the end of D1 I held my nose fighting the Taken knowing that they'll be gone in D2 and we'll have all new enemies. Wrong!

After putting little bit over 1000h in D1 (yeah not to much by "hardcore" standards;) and enjoyed PvP the most last 1.5 year I feel you pointed out ALL issues what I have with the game :
Fixed rolls on weapons -no more godly rolled Luna's , Hopscotch, Parthian Shoot or Longbows /1k stare :(
Teamshot is actually not a teamplay- I can be lone wolf with strong focus on objective and be a good team player ,no character at all:/
No playlist for PvP AND PvE- its a joke I have no words:(
BS matchmaking - solo Vs teams of 3/4 , what follows many quiters which game not always replace - missing one person in 4v4 is actually much more noticeable then in 6v6 :/ .
I could go on and on but basically I would repeat all what you said .
Destiny has been very close to my heart my beloved game to play everyday but seeing 2 step forward and 3 back philosophy I just can't stick around this time I'm well over 35 y old and while working 10h/day my time is limited .
I may be back after 2nd dlc but for now I'm done and game is already listed.

They could've just made a PC port of Destiny 1 and made this new storyline and the new environments and the new raid into more DLC Content for the first game. Cause, if you ask me, it feels much more like a DLC than a 2nd game. (not counting the changes they made to the subclasses and the weapons and armors.) That's just MY opinion.
