- Today marks the two year anniversary of my first video on TH-cam, and there couldn't be a more fitting video to make than a review of the game that got me my start on this platform. And it's a pleasure to review this game now, post 1.8, because the game is in the best ever place it's been, and it's finally the game we all hoped it would be when we laid down our hard earned cash back in March of last year. The Division finally feels complete, and in this review I'd like to show you why...

I would really like it if The Division added the ability to replay the campaign from the beginning with your maxed out character, but with World Tier 5 enemies.

Juris Raudulis I never felt this or understood this criticism. This is an mmorpg, this is so consistent with the genre. Massive world with RNG leveling up with new gear and skills...Quick kills and fast TTK does not work.
I really like that your reviews are so balanced. Most tend to go either "greatest ever" or "pile of shit", but you always mention the strong and weaker points of a game.
It makes for a very well informed choice for us, the gamers!

I stumbled upon this review three months ago... and I bought a copy of the game, a week after that I bought anothet for my father. The Division is quickly becoming my favorite game.
As for this review, I've watched it a few times now and I think this is the most comprehensive game review I've ever watched on TH-cam.
Haha! When you started losing focus while looking at gear stats, that was the best part. That's me in the division and warframe. Love your vids man. Always truthful and precise.

1,800+ hours and I can honestly say I’m happy with the state of the game and I’ve gotten my money’s worth. I still play it and even stream it almost every day. This game has a special place in my heart.

I just started playing TD at the beginning of December during the Free weekend they had at the time and I was convinced to buy after just one day and was able to get the Gold edition on PC for $27. Best game I have bought all year.

This might be the best written review you've ever done. Your Warframe reviews, Wilson Loot Boxes and Destiny 2 review are great but this is damn near perfect. Maybe one day I'll pick The Division up again, it certainly looks like a decent experience now.

Bungie has really dissapointed me. Ever since halo they have been going downhill.
I know this video is incredibly old at this point but I wanted to share my unique perspective on this franchise. In 2019, the Division 2 was like $3 on xbox so I bought it, tried it, hated it, and uninstalled it. Fast forward to 2022, I decided to give it another shot after the DLC and updates had been put in (I’m a massive fan of Tom Clancy games). This time, I really enjoyed it and completed all of the base game and DLC with some of the endgame content (I was playing solo so some of the content was more or less inaccessible). Which btw is how I found your channel. After finishing it I went to Division 1 for the first time so it was in the state you are describing in this video and I didn’t have the bad taste in my mouth. I think it definitely has the plight of ubisoft open world game design and I prefer the more tactical/realistic design of other TC games. That being said D1 actually felt more like a TC game to me. There were tactics and strategy involved and I appreciated that. Even if the game was fairly surface level, I really enjoyed the experience and think it’s worth experiencing. As a side note as someone with a deep rooted interest in firearms and gunsmithing, these games always did an incredible job of including firearms you just weren’t seeing in every game such as the lvoa-c and scar20 marksman rifle and I have always appreciated some of that weapon diversity. I haven’t shot a million virtual rounds out of lvoa-cs in the way I have with an m4 or scar17.
Thank you for describing The Division in a way most of us hardcore players can not, to all our friends who laugh at us for still playing it. Good luck on your further ventures...if there’s one guy who deserves to make a living off TH-cam gaming reviews, it’s you!

And let me explain y'all why CLASSFIED gear sets broke the game 1st you have 3% of chance getting classfied and there's more than 9 classfied gear sets and one gear set contains 6 pieces..vest/mask/knee pads/glovs/holster ..so you have like 0.50% chance to get exactly what you looking for even if you get it they might have bad stats so you'll grind all over again one piece of gear sets takes months to find it 2nd lag they have really bad laggy servers 3rd unbalanced builds 4th takes 0 skills to kill players it's all about builds now ..no classfied build?? You noob!! ... If you have classfied build > you are good just like that..5th oh wait I could tell you guys 100 reasons not to buy this game now but ah just don't buy it and thank me later.. you'll regret even if it's free don't play it you'll waste your time

The bullet sponge criticism would've been solved by having more boss enemies be non-human, like the APC or Helicopter. Go with the real world "What has more hitpoints" rather than just boosting a stat on a meatbag.
As for Breath of the Wild, the story is "Who is Zelda?" and you have to do a KILOTON of side content to actually unwravel that.
What about focusing the stats of your character and your gear in accuracy and agility rather than damage? So you and the enemies could be killed by few shots, but you could have aiming facilitators and running, covering and dodging abilities that would help you to kill with more efficiency and be alive more often. Then you could increase difficulty in higher XP levels by increasing the amount of enemies or boosting their types, like having enemies with shields, smarter enemies, enemies with gear that counter yours etc.
Pretty much the reason why I've gone back and forth on this game. I have wanted to get the game, but I simply cannot get over the fact that humans in hoodies can absorb a metric ton of bullets. The setting, the aesthetics, the genre are all appealing, it's just the bullet sponge that completely throws me off the game.
So believe it or not, I have only just started playing this game a few days ago. I was very skeptical the first time a headshot from a hidden position did not drop my target. But never the less, I very quickly fell in love with the game. I still have a lot to learn via gameplay.

Im mind blown the amount of effort you put into these..... Its not just the script you work on, the gameplay, getting gameplay of what you are mentioning, the different games, the weapons, etc. I could go on and on. About a half an hour ago a friend of mine said that I should give the division to try. Since he's been frustrated with Destiny for a while, he has seen what Ubisoft has been doing what Bungee should have been doing this whole time, which is improving.
I was skeptical at first so I hit the search button to see what people thought about the division now and came to your video.
And I have to say, you completely convinced me and I'm very happy about the detailed review that you gave it. So 5 minutes ago from now I bought the game and now it's downloading in my PS4.

You sir are by far the best video game reviewer on TH-cam. I’m happy I found your channel a couple months ago. I can’t stop watching your videos. And this video is exactly what I was wanting about the division. I’ve been excited to jump back into this game and you have helped make my decision to do exactly that.
You have succeeded in at least getting me to consider trying to play the game again. It's good to see that they have been so adamant in trying to fix their flaws. You really have to be passionate about what you are working on to make the game what you want it to be and not just chalk it up as a loss. I'm not sure if I have it in me to return to play the game again, but I think it is enough to forgive them for their previous mistakes. I think it is important to reward their passion to seeing the game to its completion.
I was waiting for this review! I've fallen back in love with the Division; re-addicted and enjoying every second, regardless of what activity I'm engaged in. Awesome video man.

I saw this review pop up a few weeks ago and it made me feel quite strange, after feeling so conned out of £75 in the past by Ubisoft.
Upon watching the review today I've told my wife I'm booking the rest of the day in the Office and I'm downloading The Division now. I stopped playing ~1.3, hopefully starting completely fresh with a new character will enable me to enjoy the cracking story experience and explore the deep and diverse world all over again without all of the annoying niggles and teething problems.

I think this is quite possibly one of the most comprehensive and unbiased review I've ever seen ever. Absolutely awesome video! I've played this game since day one and have always enjoyed it, but am really finally starting to be able to tell people it's worth their money.

The division is amazing right now. I got a pre order key with my purchase of my gtx 980ti back in March. At first the game was meh to me, but after patch 1.4 I began to fall in love with it, got the seasons pass and had lots of fun playing with friends. And now with patch 1.8 the game is complete, there is SOO much to do and SOO much fun with friends. It looks like a small map but trust me it’s really not, it’s a very dense and beautiful apocalyptic Manhattan.
I picked this game up shortly after your appearance on the DCPodcast. You sold me on checking out the Division. Only paid $5.00 and its been such a blast to get into.
In 1.5 I ran the Reclaimer set and focused solely on healing, rarely shooting at players. My 4 man squad would wipe the floor against whole lobbies of other players in the DZ because they could not kill us. We also all ran the Vigorous chest so one shot from my heal would give them a full over heal and the cooldown on it was about 3.5 seconds. It was glorious.
I don't think I'll ever unsub. Not because you have great content (because you clearly do) but because I subbed back when Division launched and there are no other content creators I can say that I was there from 0 to 1 million (cept for hopefully myself one day if I ever have the nerve to turn on the cam). Love this video man!!!! Huge fan of yours since day one. You single handily guided me through this game from setups for my classes to what guns to use for a specific mission. Just started playing this game again randomly a few weeks ago. The difference is astounding to when I gave up on it a couple years back. Needed a vid like this to make sense of it all really, found it a bit overwhelming but very, very impressed so far. Cheers for this mate!

This was an epic review which I only just watched as I stopped playing the division in January. I tried so hard not to laugh at the Bulletsponge clip. It really did highlight everything that has been great and awful about the game whilst highlighting the effort the developers have put in to saving it. The important thing to remember is it’s all about perspective there are things that every player will love/hate about the game there are so many things to do in different environments and if you don’t like one mode play the other and appreciate the rest for what they are. With Division 2 now announced I look forward to your videos on that ASAP

Wow. This must be the best video I have watched on TH-cam covering a game. Well put together, no stammering and I actually learned several new things about the division. I just started playing by the way. I definitely didn't think I would watch the entire video but I did. Great job, liked and subscribed.
Ok, Skill I get it buy the Ubisoft game on its real release date which is 2 years after its official release.
I waited a year on purpose for this game because I anticipated the troubles with it after following it for some time in production. When I bought it, I got the full game and season pass for £25. I've put around 500 hours into it so far because im a filthy casual and I have to say, it was well worth the wait.
I'm kinda annoyed atm because I have nothing to play at the moment when it comes to games mainly because my I'm in Aus and no one is matchmaking for games like D2, SWB2 (SWB2 with its game breaker microtransactions and D2 is a boring compared to D1) and now I haven't bought division during its sale... I dunno what to play lol. I like ark but my PC wont run it at 60fps with graphics I think are a standard at least.

Yeah. I know I sound silly saying no games but I like shooters but cod is boring same thing over and over again so not getting that lol, warframe Im trying it out but don't know what so good about it.

It's supposed to symbolize the dual nature of the gamer spirit in that it has become trampled in 7 hour long 'tutorial' portions (here's lookin at you ass creed) in the way that this 7 min into is informative, and other games just... hand hold you and baby you thinking you don't know how to use a joystick :'(
Congrats on the new JOB! Starting a new job myself mid-Feb, can't wait! I agree with your key points on the Divison, I quit few months after the game release due to bugs etc and moved back to Destiny. Still working up my classified sets (still don't have full 6 of any set :*() but I am REALLY enjoying it, you are right there's a staggering amount of content! Keep up the great work, love the layman game channel as well, you and ur bro are great!
I was one of the people who left the game behind but the respect I have you as a videogame reviewer I've went back and gave it another try...I'm having a good time so far thanks for the update in this dry time of gaming
HERE HERE!!! It really is an awesome game in so many ways! Still has some issues but what game this ambitious doesn't...I think the Great outweighs the Good and the Good outweighs the Bad at this time which is fantastic!!! Grats on fulltime YT...good luck!!
