    I'm 59 and taught myself the TGU about a year ago, one of the best exercises I've ever done and now a regular in my routine. I use a 24kg KB (@72kg bodyweight).

    Yesterday, I watched the video of the The 8-Second Expert | w/ Dan John podcast you did two years ago. I jotted down down Dan's 6-second expert advice: sleep, drink water, vegi and protein every meal---Then the movement/exercise types: push/pull, hinge squat, loaded carry, and walk.
    All I'm missing are the kettle bell exercises, I think. "If I could just identify some kettlebell exercises that meet that expert advice. And behold, coach, you provided exactly what I need.

    I appreciate your instruction. Kettlebell training is a lot more enjoyable using good technique and not hurting myself!

    Good stuff man, good stuff. I'm a cheap ass so got some ankle weights to up my current KB weights for those farmers walks and lunges. Cheap way to up the KG instead of buying a another KB to get a extra 5KG on those days you got nothing but energy to burn.

    Brother, I dont think Ive seen many TGU's starting with a curtsy lunge if starting from the top position (I thought it would be a bit unstable?), what was your reasoning for using the curtsy lounge rather than a reverse lunge? Thanks for all your awesome videos! Im glad you incorporate these in your workouts in the members section, oh yeah! 🙂

      Your setup for the kneeling windmill is quicker and you don‘t scrape your knees on the floor.
      It‘s less stable yes; so be careful. 💪

    Re: double snatch drop to rack That makes perfect sense--thanks.
    Been trying the swing version with 2 x 12's and it's been bearable, but with 16's... I felt like a lower back version of the Alien movie when it pops out at the dinner scene... Sheez.

    "A farmer's walk is like carrying around groceries so there is a lot of skill transfer for everyday life."
    This skill transfer has its limitations, I tried to snatch the groceries and it didn't end well.

    H2H is my absolute fave it let’s me push really deep into longer sets without my grip bottlenecking like 2H swings do. Glad it made the list.

    Question about the H2H swing. I see you like to swing with the handle oriented horizontally. I’ve been doing the swing with the handle oriented vertically. Is the orientation a big deal or just personal preference?
    Thanks in advance.

    I’ve been contemplating trying the get up however my knees aren’t very tight so doing a lunge to get down is going to be my challenge there.
    Perhaps I’ll start playing with it on my non workout days.

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try it unloaded first and see how your knee reacts. Some of our clients' knees are not suitable for a Get-Up so don't worry; there's other exercises to benefit you as well.

    Hi Gregory! Thanks for posting this compilation packed with important details! I'm curious: would you lock your knees at the top of the goblet squat or just keep them soft? Dan John talks about it in one of his last books and some practitioners tend to plank every extension like a deadlift or swing. But is it applicable to the goblet squat? Thanks!

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always lock the joints at the top of every kettlebell lift.

    What would you say is the main difference between Bent press and the windmill?????
    Greetings!!

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  ปีที่แล้ว

      Windmill is static; Bent Press is dynamic (at least for the upper body)

  • @normanquednau
    @normanquednau ปีที่แล้ว

    Veery cool video!😊 i love particularly the bent press: it belongs to a whole familiy of exercises: side press, windmill, 2 hands anyhow: connecting to the old-tmie strongmen. You need flexibility. I had a coach from Volzhky, Volgograd. He wanted to prepare me for the Master of Sports, back in 2015. I hurt my shoulder and that was it. Now I am regaining my Girevik skills and happy I found this channel... Grüße nach CH😊
