One thing about the Rudy promo, Erik stated today the Egyptian queen was in Alpha. I think given the popularity of the artwork, people would not be pleased to see it restricted to a promo version!

I think that makes sense and I think most people would want it widely available.
However, on the other hand, I could see them giving it to Rudy and I believe Simon at one point confirmed all Frazetta art is in Alpha, but Rudy has confirmed his promo is a Frazetta piece.
It will be interesting to see what his promo is and what kind of deal he will be offering his patrons for Sorcery.
Are alpha boxes coming with a promo inside?
@@anthonytaylor6972 Alpha boxes are coming with a lot of fun extra cards, that were added as stretch goals on the Kickstarter.
For instance there is a Sorcerer card signed by the creator Erik, box toppers, some foil cards, and tiny tokens. You can see it all here:

Hi there, thanks for watching! Me too, which was probably pretty clear from the video. The art already shown seems to be everything and more that I could hope for!
I’m actually a big fan of mini sets. A few smaller releases a year rather than 4 large ones. It will keep the game interesting without printing too many cards to keep track of
I also like the idea of mini-sets introducing some new flavor or type of gameplay in addition to one larger expansion per year.
I think one to two sets a year would be super, especially if one of them is a smaller and more focused set.
I hope the company feels the same and won’t flood us with releases before we get to enjoy the current base game a bit.
I think more and more that less is more in many cases. :)

We are beyond excited to open our packs on Saturday and enjoy all the big content creators opening their boxes!
I think Sorcery should keep focused in take direct inspiration for tarot art and symbology. it keeps the lore clean, original, mystoryous and immersive.
I think they will explore widely within the fantasy genre, as the creator Erik Olofsson also shared in the interview we did with him.
Right now, we have Arthurian Legends coming up next, and we have seen a few art pieces for the set.
This set will be more thematically linked then the Alpha set, but O think we will see more eclectic sets as well going forward. 😉

Arabian Nights would be awesome, lol, though i'm sure it'll be a bit too close to MTG for Erik's taste, but MTG went through so many interesting themes already... Ice Age, Vampires, Vikings... it'll be hard to avoid some kind of overlap. I would love a set themed on a civilization in decline and full of horror... similar to Ice Age & The Dark.
Thank you for checking out the video. I think specific Arabian Night's theme might be a little too close to MTG, but we already see some cultural influences from many different places and it will be interesting to see which if any of the themes already in the set they will pursue further.
I backed literally ONLY because Erik said we were going to have 1 expansion per year, instead of a multitude of bullshit to chase constantly. I hope this doesn't spiral down like Magic or Pokemon, where you have to buy 2-3 boxes per month to catch up.
Said that, I want a set dedicated only to Yōkai, but faithful to legends and books, not like in recent media.
I am fairly certain that the releases we are seeing now will be the exception, with Kickstarter being a very limited set. The Beta will be the actual release of Sorcery Contested Realm available via the LGS, the only one widely available set for 2023. Next year we will have a mini-set, possibly only 10 cards, featuring Ed. Beard. Jr. dragon set, so not an actual full release, and then the yearly release will be Arthurian Legends, which I think will be it for 2024.
My best guess is Revised will be a 2025 release or maybe end of 2024, so I think they intend to keep the releases very limited. So I don't think it will be anything close to the release pace of other modern TCGs, which is probably what appealed to a lot of us.
@@CardboardGuide How does a mini-set works? I have never heard of that. Is that something that gets sold as a sealed product with the whole collection in it? 10 cards seems low for booster packs :D

Ah, Erik and the team are working hard on distribution. Scandinavia, US, and NZ are covered right now, and most regions should follow soon.
Letting your local game store know that you are interested in the game definitely increases the likelihood of them ordering it.
I also believe Arthouse Syndicate will be hosting an Alpha booster box giveaway soon, so maybe check out the channel. 😉

Alpha will only go to the stores who backed the Kickstarter. You can find them on the SorceryTCG website under locator.
Alpha will presumably still be fairly expensive, while Beta which should be due in September and have almost the same cards will be widely available through LGS’ and Team Covenant (I think they close Beta preorders April 30th).
Not overly keen on revised being a thing. But very exited for the rest
We will see if Revised indeed ends up being a thing, I think it will depend on the reaction to Beta and how much they printed of it. 😉

That is kind of my hope as well, But personally I think that Alpha and Beta pool should be sufficient. If it does suddenly bloom with people coming in I can understand them then doing it, but again they need to be really carful to listen to the data and not over print it@@CardboardGuide

They need to do set based off Steven Jackson's Sorcery. Not sure how that would work with the art, but definatly enough material to work with from the 4 books.
Someone has mentioned them to me previously, I really need to check it out.
I get the feeling that they are trying to do some more loose themes, that allow them to explore and experiment within a theme/mythology, but not have too rigid a storytelling.

I'm confused about the Rudy promo card. Erik has stated in the discord that the frazetta Egyptian Queen would be in the alpha set. So does that mean Rudy is selling alpha or beta? I will be really bummed if Rudy uses that as his Promo because that means it won't go to the Kickstarter backers only to his Patreon members.
Uh, I think that would be a very fitting theme for Sorcery and the type of artists that are involved with Sorcery.
Erik and Simon have stated that all the Frazetta cards are in Alpha, I am wondering what Frazetta card it might be if they are all in the Alpha or maybe it is a special version.
We will have to wait and see what he offers to the patrons.

I would love it and we actually talked with Erik about it in our interview, but I think he felt it might be too limited in scope.
I think if it was changed to Norse mythology *and folklore* there would be more than enough to work with.

How can you order from Rudy?
The only way to order from Rudy would be to be apart of his Patreon, but it has been closed off for new members for a while.
Sometimes some spots open up around the end of the month or if people decide to leave.

Yes, with some exceptions, you can play via TTS, and there is an online league.
However, I think this appeals to a lot of people who want to play in person, like us two dinosaur in the video. 😉
